"AHHHHHH!!" I heard someone scream. I turned around to see Jaken being tormented by Rin.
"Jaken shut up!" I said.
"Y-yes ma'am!" He said.
"Ma'am? Jaken I've never heard you say that before towards me. Are you feeling okay? Do you have a fever?" I said while inspecting him.
"No you vile creature I am of no such thing you dumb dog!" He screech.
I punched him into a tree. Making the tree break and fall along with Jaken.
"Yeah. You're just fine." I said while sighing.
"Jaken lets go." Sesshomaru said.
If only I could touch his silky, silver hair and kiss his lips once more. It would be paradise in my head.
After about 3 to 4 hourse of walking we finally stopped. Well Sesshomaru did.
"What's the matter my lord?" Rin cutely asked.
"Nothing. We will rest here." He said bluntly.
"Fine with me." I said while jumping on a tree. I started to jump on trees instead of leaning on them.
"Hey! Get back down he- oof!" I heard Jaken say as he fell.
"Jaken shut. Up." I said sternly.
I saw him shiver and I saw Sesshomaru from the corner of my eye blushing. I should be more stern more often huh?
"How dare you order me around! No one orders me but Lord Sessho-"
"Shut. Up." I said sternly. Looking out the corner of my eye I see Sesshomaru blush again. Yeah, bein stern works perfectly!
"Jaken. Where is Rin?" I said.
"Uh-oh." I heard him mumble.
"Where. Is. She?!" I yelled sternly.
"Please No! Stop! Y/n! Help!" I heard Rin's voice yell.
I quickly ran towards her voice. When I saw her I saw her being held by the neck by

Kagura.
I growled. Loudly. Jaken scrambled behind Sesshomaru out of fear.
Kagura cackled.
"Oh look who is trying to be the hero! Y/n. My sworn enemy."
"I don't know who told you we were enemies but they told you wrong. Let go of Rin or else."
"Or else what?"
She then started to raise her fan up.
"Don't you fucking dare."
"Dance."
"If you fucking do that you won't be able to live another second!"
"Of." Kagura continues while bringing up her fan.
"Grr...."
"Miss Y/n, please don't leave me here. I want to be able to live. I don't want to die." Rin said.
"Don't worry Rin. I'll save you. In any way possible!" I said.
"Dance of Bla-"
"STOP IT KAGURA!!"
"Oh no. I will continue with this amazing torture. Your life or hers. Choose wisely Y/n."
"I'll never let Rin die."
"Miss Y/n I don't want you to die! You can revive me with Tenseiga!"
"No Rin! It can only revive you once and Sesshomaru used that time!"
"Tick tock Y/n. You need to choose sweety."
"Dammit!"
I had to choose. Rin or my life. I love Rin like my own daughter and I can't let her die! She's still a little girl.
"Naginata Shinha assemble." I wispered.
"Your time is up Y/n sweety."
"Dance of Blades!!"
"Aaahhh!!"
'Slash' 'Splosh'
"Wait... Lord Sesshomaru. I'm not hurt."
"I saved you *pant* from the *pant* attack." I said while holding my stomach.
"Miss Y/n! No!"
"I'm*cough* sorry *cough* *cough* Rin. You were the only one who made me *cough* feel happy. Rin, *cough* I love you. You *cough* are like a daughter to *cough* me."

"Please don't talk anymore Miss Y/n! Please!"
"It's too late Rin. I'm *cough* goin away. I'm so- *cough* sorry. I love you Rin."
"Miss Y/n! I love you too! Don't die please!"
"Sesshomaru. I love you *cough* too. Even you Jaken and you too A-Un. Just live *cough* without me."
"No! I can't live without you!" Rin cried.
"Rin. Take Shi and Ha. They shall protect you. They *cough* they shall be your Y/n. They shall be a version of me. I'll be watching over you. I promise."
"No! Miss Y/n!" Rin cried. Her tears were flowing out of her eyes and down her cheeks.
I put my hand on her cheek and smiled.
"It'll be ok. People die everyday. You just have to get used to it."
"No! You are my only family member! I can't have you die on me!"
"Nothing can save me. Not even Tenseiga."
My eyes started to feel heavy and I started to feel cold. Blood rushed out of my mouth as I coughed it up. I fell back and my hand dropped from Rin and I went breathless. Everything went black from then on.
Sesshomaru POV
She's gone. The love of my life is gone. All because Kagura would threaten the life of Rin.
"No! Miss Y/n! No!!" Rin cried.
Jaken had tears coming out of his eyes even A-Un cried. I hid my tears. My heart went cold again.
Jaken POV
Y/n is dead. Gone. I can't believe it. She was actually like a motherly figure to me and Rin. I felt like she was the perfect person for Rin. She was funny and loving and caring and now she's dead.
'We will all miss Y/n'

[SE has the same content as the original story, split into smaller chunks for easier reading. This story is on a temporary hiatus due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. I work in healthcare and unfortunately no longer have the freetime to continue posting on a regular basis. As soon as our workload decreases, I will return. Thanks for reading! 💙] No one ever knows the whole story. Deep in the forests of the Pacific Northwest, the fading town of Rallsburg stumbles upon an amazing discovery—magic itself. Faced with potentially world-shattering power, the people of Rallsburg keep the secret for themselves. Led by Rachel DuValle, a perpetually underestimated college student with grand ambitions, they seek to found a new society. The world beyond suspects nothing, but magic cannot stay hidden forever. A train arrives in Rallsburg carrying Alden Bensen, a directionless high school graduate. To him, magic could represent meaning for his life, an explanation for his empty existence. This potent force offers anyone the power to change humanity forever—or send it cascading into swift and total annihilation. The Last Science is an ongoing science-fiction / low-fantasy web novel series, focused on the modern world with a twist. New societies bud and grow, but the people who make them up are imperfect and flawed. The story includes elements of mystery, action, crime, interpersonal drama, relationships, philosophy, sociology, politics, and much more, all centered on the perspective characters driving the tale. This is the "Scraps Edition" of the story, where the chapters have been split up into bite-size chunks (roughly 1500-3000 words), for your convenience. The prose has been edited from its original form, with some improvements, but there are no content differences from the original. New chapters will be posted throughout each week starting on Friday and appearing on multiple days thereafter, depending on the length of the chapter. Content Warning (by request): This series delves into some topics and situations which may be upsetting for some readers. In American rating parlance, the narrative would be rated PG-13 (except for language), but some have noted the story can get pretty dark on occasion. Please use your best judgment, and don't be afraid to take breaks and come back later. I'll still be here! [Discord] - come hang out and chat! Leo had always felt something was wrong with him. Hell, the world even confirmed this for him with the bundle of mental and physical health issues he had to battle his whole life. At least he always had his imaginary friend, The 'Voice', to guide him through his most troubling times. But what happens when the world comes to an end at the behest of something called 'The System'? And maybe The 'Voice' wasn't as imaginary as he thought as it had been telling him this day was coming for a year. This story is not for the light hearted, at least that is the direction I have it going.
