《Reid and the awkward girl | S.R.》Epilogue

"Okay kid, behave yourself for aunty Dan and uncle Spencer," Morgan warns the mixed little girl as he holds Penelope by the waist. It's not the first time that Danny and Reid have babysat for the couple. They enjoy to spend time with the kids of the agents. The kids are often visitors at the apartment.

The girl huffs at her father. She's grown a lot since Danny first met her. The two years that passed made Danny a lot more closer to the team and she became the honorary babysitter when they were on cases, and when the couples just wanted a night out.

Jazmine, Derek and Penelope's little girl is now eight and looks every bit of her parents, with her dark hair, down to the funky style of her mother and her love of electronics. That girl never puts down her tablet.

"I'm sure she'll be fine Derek," Danny ushers the girl into the house before he goes dad mode again. He really is an overprotective father, but Danny doesn't blame them with the job they do.

After they leave, Hotch knocks on the door, Spencer jumps up to get it.

"They're all acting weird," Jaz states without looking up from her tablet. She playing a game she made, like usual.

"Who is?" Danny ask the young girl. She noticed a nervousness in Spencer this morning but shook it off. Now that even a little girl is picking up on it, it comes to the forefront of her mind.

"My parents, and uncle Spencer," Jazmine mumbles low because of jack coming in followed by the one they were talking about. Spencer sits down next to the girls and bounces his leg up and down, drumming his fingers on his knees.

The eight year old and the twenty one year old look at each other.

Not long after, JJ and Will come over with Henry dropping him off and lingering by the door with Spencer. They talk in hushed whispers and Danny for the life of her cannot hear, especially when the two boys keep arguing over a toy in the background. The joys of children, she thinks and lets out a breath.

Just as she is about to walk over to interrupt the conversation, Spencer peaks his head around the corner, glancing at his girlfriend and all the children. "I have to change really quick, Dan can you stay with them for a second?"

He doesn't wait for her answer and shoots into his bedroom. Now Danny definitely knows somethings wrong. Change? Does he have a case?

"Did they say anything about what was going on?" Danny asks the girl next to her, hoping she might have a clue.

"No," she shakes her head, "but I can track dads phone if you want."

Danny whips her head around to the girl in disbelief, "No, that's okay." She doesn't know if she should tell Derek that his daughter can keep tabs on his phone. That seems a little invasive, but she ignores it for now, since she has other things to think about.

Spencer walks out of the bedroom with a purple button up and black slacks. Danny drops her jaw in disbelief. No matter how many months go by, Danny still sees Spencer as the hottest guy she's ever seen. His hands clutch at his sides when the doorbell rings again. And despite her total confusion at who could be at the door, she can't take her eyes away from him.

All the girls walk in. Prentiss, JJ and Garcia all run up to Danny and take her by the hands, dragging her into the bedroom that Spencer just came out of.

"Okay. What is going on. Why are you here and I thought you all went out on dates," Danny folds her arms over her chest, a defensive pose.

The girls look at each other with smiles on their faces a Danny gets a rush of nervousness. Why did it feel like they were plotting something?

"Change into this," Emily rips a black dress from an bag at her hip and throws it at the girl. She catches it, narrowly missing her face.

While the female agents walk out of her bedroom, Danny stares at the dress in her hands. The material is sleek and shiny and she can't wait to try it on despite the weird circumstances. Though, not that weird considering who she was referring to. They often barged into her house to get her to go shopping or out clubbing, though not with a change of plans like this. Were they just going to leave Spencer with the kids?

The dress fit her body perfectly, knowing that Penelope picked it out. That woman loves to dress anyone up and she always seems to know the perfect style, even if her own was a little wacky.

Barefoot and barefaced, she opens the door to a completely changed apartment. Where as a moment ago it was littered in case files, books and children's toys, it now contained candles, and the entire team.

All of them were standing around staring at her while Spencer stood on the middle. Everyone looked nice with their "date" clothes on. Despite her confusion, Danny managed to walk out into the living space and try to look at each individual hoping someone would tell her what was up. All she got was smiles and Rossi gave her a wink.

"I know this is not exactly what I imagined for this, but you are a hard woman to figure out for this sort of thing," Spencer starts and Danny furrows her eyebrows at this, her attention all on him. "You don't like public displays, you don't really like the beach because you don't like the feel of sand in your toes, restaurant is too cliche, and despite me not wanting to do it in the middle of our apartment, the house isn't done yet," house? Danny opens her mouth to speak but Spencer keeps going.

"I wanted to do this now while we are both finally able to be around each other with the whole team. The only thing I could have wanted to have in this moment was our family. Despite them being my team, I think that they would agree with me that they are all closer then friends. I know you value friends and family above all else and would have wanted this moment to include those that you loved.

So, Daniella, I wanted to say that our circumstances for meeting each other were less than ideal. However, I have grown to love you more and more each day, especially because of those setbacks that we went through together. I couldn't imagine living any longer without you by my side forever, as mrs. Reid.

Will you marry me," he kneels down at last finally finishing his speech and smiling at the girl he loves. His nerves leave him as she starts to nod her head.

"Yes, of course I will," Danny moves to his kneeling figure and throws herself in his arms. "And this was a wonderful proposal. I couldn't have imagined it done better," she praises into his ear, knowing that he would feel terrible if it wouldn't something she wanted. He hugs her tight and stands them up to slip the ring on her finger.

Danny brings him in for a kiss, ignoring the whistling and cheering of her family.

"Well look at that, the agents finally got together," Morgan clapped for the two.

Only a year ago had Danny applied to the FBI and got in. Not as a BAU agent obviously, but still in an intelligence group in a field office. Being an agent, and getting married to one, she couldn't be happier.

"So what was that about a house?" Danny turns to Spencer after all the pictures and congratulations. Rossi brought over champagne.

"Morgan and some of his construction friends were fixing one up for us. It was going to be a surprise. I wanted to propose to you there, but they said there was a set back they had to fix," Reid shrugs his shoulders, looking a little sheepish at keeping such a secret.

Danny hits him lightly on the shoulder, but the smile never leaves her face. "I can't wait to see it," The girl tiptoes to reach his face and kissed him at the cheek.

"Hey lover boy, help me cut this cake for your girl," Morgan waves over Spencer and he drags Danny by the hand, not wanting to be separated from her for even a second.

The cake was white with a small ring on the top and congratulations written all in light blue icing. Cheesy, but Danny was too excited to care. She loves cake.

Spencer cuts off a square and hands Danny the plate, leaning over to her ear, "Don't drop it." He chuckles at her before kissing her forehead while Danny's cheeks heat up. The grocery store incident flashes in her mind when she dropped the cake on her birthday. His eidetic memory never fails to bring up embarrassing moments. And for Danny, there was a lot of awkward moments.

They all sit and talk about the random memories of the past two years, sharing stories of Spencer and Danny. Mostly at Danny's expense, but she couldn't find it in her to care. After a hell of a few months, she deserves this. Spencer got shot, Danny's assault, her abandoned apartment, and finally Harold dying on the way back home from the hospital that day. Danny can think of so many incidents that caused her grief. But after Spencer asked her to be his girlfriend, it had only been up from there. She can imagine what it would be like to finally be his wife, and she can't wait.

How an awkward girl like her ever got SSA agent Dr. Reid, she will never know.
