《Reid and the awkward girl | S.R.》22

Danny pulls Harold up outside of the building containing Mr. Charles class. It's late in the day, so she knows not many students are around, Mr. Charles has gone home for the day. She knows some other students would still be here, drama kids practicing performances and late tutoring sessions, so she doesn't feel terrified of being alone. She can scream and someone would hear her.
She creeps along the halls ways trying to stay quiet. It's not the best idea to announce your presence to a homicidal maniac.
Creaking the door open, she walks in and finds the light switch. It was way too dark for her liking.
Glancing around with her guard up, her hand over the kitchen knife in her pocket, but the room is empty. Just because she doesn't see him, doesn't mean she is safe. Her hairs stick up on her neck waiting for a sneak attack, just like the one at her apartment but it never comes. Why is he not here?
She takes farther steps into the room to look around, on the white board a picture and words are written. Danny looks behind her one more time before approaching.
Taped up is a copied picture from the printer, and on it Spencer Reid. He's laying at an awkward angle, face in a grimace and hand over his bloodied abdomen. Danny's heart races and she looks on in horror. He promised he wouldn't hurt Spencer. The monster shot him and just stood over him for a picture like a sadistic fuck.
Underneath it, are the words 'Blacksburg, VA'
She takes a picture of the white board and runs out to her car. Hopefully Harold will be able to last for a road trip.

Over two hours later, Danny makes it to Blacksburg, VA. Hoping and praying that Spencer is okay, and not bleeding out on the side walk like she saw in the photo.
There is so much Danny wants to say the the BAU agent, the professor turned best friend. She never got a chance to tell him how she really felt. The kiss lingers in her mind.

Thankfully, Harold pulls up outside the police station. She knows the BAU always sets up in the police station. Hopefully they can direct her to the hospital. Spencer wouldn't have gotten shot without someone seeing. He was on a sidewalk for crying out loud, anyone could see from the road. At least that's what Danny was hoping.
Parking Harold, who seems to be on his last wheel, wheezing in exhaustion, she runs into the police station.
"Where is Spencer Reid!" She demands in anger and fright.
A police officer tried to come over and calm her down but she has none of it.
"Where," she demands. Hands on hips.
"The hospital," he sighs, "I'll give you a ride."
Danny nods and follows the officer to his cruiser. "All the rest of the agents are already there. It was a shock that he got shot. But they can't put a hold on the case." The officer shakes her head, frustrated with the agents that should be trying to stop a murderer.
Danny has to check herself before she might slap a law enforcement officer. Now would not be a good time. She thinks only about Spencer and drowns out the sounds of his insistent small talk.
Reaching the hospital, Danny dashes inside without so much as a thank you to the cop. Her mind focused and palms sweaty.
"I need to see Spencer Reid."
The red head at the computer types on the computer. "It seems he just got out of surgery about half an hour ago. You'll have to wait out in the waiting room like the rest of his visitors. Only family is allowed in at this time until he recovers more."
Danny rolls her eyes. Like she's going to listen to that. "Where at?" Her impatience is ticking.
"Second floor, room 221" is all the receptionist gets out before the dark haired girl makes a dash for the elevator. She doesn't bother telling the girl to not run in a hospital, going back to playing candy crush.
Danny stomps around the elevator, the 10 second ride too long for her. The doors ding open and Danny sprints to the left, before realizing it's the wrong way, before springing to the right and dashing down the other way. Mumbling 221 over and over again. She doesn't notice the other five individuals watching the girl in confusion and amusement. Until she gets stopped by the officer at Reid's door, now they are curious.

"I can't let you in ma'am," the officer replies nicely.
Danny goes off in Spanish, wagging her finger like an angry mother but the man doesn't budge. She resorts to other tactics.
Looking to her right, she pretends to do a double take, "is that the shooter?" She asks in her most horrified voice. Adding a temple to make it believable. The cop steps to the side to look around a potted plant and that's when Danny sees her chance.
She slides under his arm, swinging the door open and closing it with a slam before she locks it in place.
She knows it's wrong, but she wants to see Spencer, and they were not letting that happen.
After all the excitement, Danny turns around and feels her racing heart drop to the floor. Spencer, pale and still, lays on a hospital bed surrounded by white.
She ignores the pounding of the door and goes to stand by his side, taking his cool hand in her own sweaty ones. This is all her fault.
That man was after her. After Danny for some sick reason and she was the one to get Spencer involved with all it. If she was less selfish, he would be uninjured and helping the world like always. He would only be her professor, and she, only his student.
The door flies open with multiple people standing on the other side. A doctor in front with a key in his hand an a frown on his face. Danny looks down in shame.
"Who they hell are you? Get away from Spencer," a dark skinned bald man steps over to her threateningly. With all the research she's done on the team, she can probably name them all.
"Sorry Morgan," she mumbles and lets Spencer's hand drop reluctantly, her eyes not leaving the geniuses face. She walks over to Morgan with her hands in front of her ready to be handcuffed. She figures she probably committed some kind of crime by deceiving a cop and breaking into a hospital room.
Morgan looks on in confusion. And even more when Danny looks up at him.
"Oh," she exclaims and takes a kitchen knife out of her pocket. She hands it over to him with a smile.
Her smile drops. "This looks bad doesn't it." Morgan only gives her a blank look along with the other agents. Her cheeks turn pink.
A small couch is heard behind her. "Danny? Is that my kitchen knife?" His voice hoarse and low.
She chuckles nervously. "No?" She goes to turn around to see that he's starting to fall back asleep again. Danny sighs in disappointment, but she knows he needs to rest. She purses her lips and faces the BAU again.
"Wait, you are Dan?" Danny's can only guess that the famous Rossi says to her. She fan girls a moment.
"Si," she nods. "I've read all your books." She bounces a little excited on her toes.
Hotch turns to the cop at the door. "It's a misunderstanding, you can go back to the door now." Leaving the team and Danny alone in the room.
She looks around sheepishly at all their calculating eyes boring into her. "Sorry."
Morgan sighs, "it's okay kid. Let's go back to the waiting room." He leads her out back into the hallway, the guard glaring at her. "I'm keeping this by the way," he waves the knife for her to see.
She nods. "That's fair."
As they all take their seats, starting at Danny again. An awkward silence ensues. Squirming, Danny tries to look away. Gosh, she hates awkward silence.

Author here (: This is my first time posting any of my works online, and I hope that you enjoy being welcomed into my world, as much as I enjoy creating it for you! I welcome any and all criticism, so long as it is actually something that can benefit my writing (not just random hating and nothing substantial). This story is edited by Nesryn and ArtemisArrow, my dear friends! The cover of this book is not my property, and if you are the actual owner of the image and would like me to take it down please PM me (: I am posting this to see if it generates any interest. If it does, then I will be planning on making more regular posts for chapters. I am intending this to be one book of a series, titled The Lost Royal. I intend to post, at this point, one chapter a week unless I get onto a roll! 8 194Earth Exodus
Elliot isn't the first one taken, he was the last, or one of them at least. Careless divines, gods, or higher powers had been snatching humans through numerous means over the years. Those that returned brought minor tokens of their previous power if anything at all. Over time unrestrained magic became commonplace on earth. Which must have brought attention to us. The earth is ravaged by increasing levels of rogue magics, divines, and a war over resources and experience. Eventually resulting in a mass exodus of the remaining powerless humans by a coalition of gods. Now translocated to Vauthia where everyone has been given a path to power. They're met with an unfortunate reality. They've only been rescued from one dying world to be tasked with saving the new one. While at the same time they're apparently supposed to compete with one another. Meanwhile Elliot wasn't just given a path to power. He was given a choice. The opportunity for true power is offered. When as he reaches for it the power isn't all it's cracked up to be.Systemless in a world where everyone else has access to one Elliot must grapple with a multitude of problems from without and within. The 'gods' might actually be incompetent, uncaring, downright malicious, or all three. His power is constantly three steps behind those who chose the quick path to power. There's also the antisocial tendencies he's brought with him from earth. Can he trust the 'god' who seems to be taking him under their wing? Will he be able to catch up to his fellow earthlings who're ever increasing in power? Is it possible he may just break out of his shell along the way?*** What to expect ***The initial start will be quite slow, building the setting, history, and individuals involved. There is a small bit of progression in these early chapters for the MC, but more along the lines of figuring out how their systemless power works. though once the story gains traction it won't stop.*** Don't tell Elliot, but ***Elliot hates to admit it but he's very clearly antisocial. Not to mention troubles with thinking that stem from several un-diagnosed disorders he'd rather believe don't exist.*** Image Copyright *** //In this satellite image released by Copernicus Sentinel imagery, 2020 twitter page dated Dec. 31, 2019, shows wildfires burning across Australia.
