After mouthfuls of sushi, playful banters and talking about what happened in their lives these past few days, it was finally time to call their other best friend, Orson.
The light coming from outside was slowly seeping through the blinds but it wasn't very bright, giving the room a calming feel.
The two were both huddled in the couch, in each other's hoodies, as they wanted to act like the sappiest friends ever. Totally not because they were both clingy..
Charlie was on his phone, the light reflecting on his face as he clicked on Orson's contact number. "Bro, why the fuck am I shaking?" He chuckled as he leaned back, staring at Matty. "I've never been this nervous since that guy I locked eyes with at Starbucks." He complained, running a hand through his dark brown hair.
Matty scrunched her nose up, thinking for any reason why he's feeling that way, "Well... it's Orson. Do I even need to explain why?"
"True. Bitch is so tiny but scary." He then tapped the girl's number and waited for it to ring.
The sound of a call taking place sounded throughout the dimly lit living room and the two friends waited for the blonde girl to pick up.
"Hello?"
"Hey short-stack!" Charlie greeted out, a grin on his face.
"Did you call just to insult me because it's working." Orson muttered from the other line.
Matty shoved her face on a pillow to silence the laughter bubbling up her throat. She wouldn't see it coming! She thought excitedly.
Charlie kicked her with his foot and gave her a look that said 'Shut the fuck up she'll hear you, idiot!"
"Um I actually wanted to facetime..."
"Aw, can wittle Chawlie not sleep?"

"It's actually morning here right now, get your facts straight."
"What?" She said, sounding more alert, "You can't fool me it's literally 10 pm there. Go the fuck to sleep."
Charlie dramatically gasped, "Are you keeping tabs on me? That's such fan behavior, Orson."
"Fuck y—"
"Anyways, Matty can you hold my phone for a second while I get some water." Charlie had cut off, a smug look on his face. He intended to say Matty's name louder for the clueless girl on the other line.
Matty frowned at him before snatching the phone from his outstretched hand, "You didn't even try to build suspense." She said with a playful roll of her eyes.
"Matty?!"
"HEY! MY ACTING WAS GREAT." Charlie defended himself as he went towards the kitchen to fetch himself a glass of cold water. He was so offended that he didn't even fill the glass up as he was focused to go back quickly and defend his so-called acting skills.
"It's not my fault that you literally kept annoying me to call Orson and we didn't get to practice!" He called out.
"Just admit you suck at acting, Char." Matty yelled back, trying to focus on Orson who was at the the moment just freaking out. Her words all jumbled and not really making any sense.
Charlie appeared back in the living room again, a glass of water in hand while the other was on his hip that was sassily jutted out, "Why do you keep on talking shit? Did your mom never told you that lying is bad?"
"Is it ignore Orson Day? Because I've been talking these past few minutes and you fuckers keep ignoring me." Orson exclaimed. "You didn't even invite me!"

"Sorry, sorry! Charlie's being a drama queen." Matty sighed through the phone.
"Yeah. I heard. Ignore him—"
"What the fuck?" Charlie said, "You're so rude to me and for what?"
"Shut up I don't want to talk to you." Orson snapped at him before continuing her chat with Matty, "What the hell? How are you? Why is he there?" She began to ask, ignoring Charlie who she could hear sulkily making comments in the background.
She knew about what happened on Matty's stream and tried to reach out to to the girl, the same way Charlie did. She even tried to book a flight but that got crossed out as she was ordered to fly out to Paris for a sudden shoot. She wasn't happy about it and tried to back out but her manager said it was final. She didn't really have a choice and she knew if Matty found out she dropped a big project just to visit her she'd feel ten times worse, so even if it pained Orson to go for the shoot, she had to do it.
"I'm alright. Don't worry about me, Roo."
"I'll always worry about you, Tams. You're my friend. I care for you, you bitch."
"I was about to cry. Way to ruin the moment." Matty commented, giggling lightly as she leaned back on the couch. Her smile was so infectious that Charlie, although still offended, copied the wide grin that was on her face.
"Wait, wait. I want to see my best friend's face. Facetime me right now." Orson ordered. Sitting up from her bed as she had just woken up herself. She let out a yawn and winced at the loud crack that came from her back as she stretched.
"Ok miss ma'am— Whoa, Charlie! What the fuck!"
Charlie snatched his phone back before clicking his camera on, "It's me. I'm the best friend." He said before waving energetically towards Orson who was pretending to be disgusted with him.
"You're such a child." Matty whined, pushing him away from her as he went to sit closer so that Orson could see them both.
Charlie still went to squish himself beside her and held the phone up towards their faces before giving up and handing the phone back to Matty, "You know... I came here to have a great time and you guys are just straight up bullying me right now."
"We're just stating the facts, Char."
"Facts? Bitch you're spreading false information 'round here—"
"Not gonna lie but you're being dramatic." Orson chuckled.
"Let the baby have his moment, Roo."

The Better Side Of Evil
The last surviving son of House Rotwald is on the run. Chased by his enemies into the heart of a long forgotten wasteland, he is forded to traverse an unholy place of power. With the pursuers hot on his heels, can Victorian find shelter in the realm of the living dead? Or will he become just another walking corpse, doomed to wonder the land for all eternity? Everything that he believed in, everything that he held sacred – gods, kings and their laws – has already betrayed him. With nothing left to lose could the young paladin be persuaded to accept a new master? Could he bargain away his life to a dark power in exchange for vengeance? And what would he be required to do in return? The Kingdom of Leidemar is on the verge of ruin. Rival powers seek to divide it, but there is an opportunity for a new ruler to arise from within its own nobility. And even a lowly nobleman, if positioned correctly, could end up a king. Someone with the right allies, perhaps? Or maybe cruel allies would suffice? But for now the last surviving son of House Rotwald is on the run. *This story is as much about the monsters as it is about the people facing them. Some become allies while others become wet stains on the floor. I firmly believe that villains can make for some of the most endearing characters. Monsters need not be sour and droll. Have a bit of fun - indulge in a bit of villainy. Ghostified City
‘Ghostified City’ is a post-dystopian sci-fi tale, set in a fading world that might be a future version of ours, running out on autopilot into oblivion. Adaman Yimmand is a simple robofactory operator in The City who's working with robots and machines every day. He doesn’t even realise that he might not have met another actual human being in years. Everything begins when he breaks his routine for once and enters a bar where he meets Evelith. This pesky other person does not let him go after he has had his -rather terrible- beer, because according to her actual humans are much rarer than he’s aware of. And from then on ‘the genie is out of the bottle and won’t get back in’, to use her words: Adaman meets more people, and gradually he has no choice but to accept that the reality of The City is not what he always thought it was, and to face the darkness of a fading humanity on the brink of self-inflicted extinction. Is there any hope left for him, and for his species? I have selected 'sexual content' and 'traumatising content' to be on the safe side, because there is a stripclub-like venue in the background of the story, and an almost-extinct humanity that has institutionalised suicide which might be disturbing to some. Apart from that it's not really a heavy 'adult' story.('Ghostified City' is my first long story in English as opposed to my native language Dutch, and an earlier version was published on my fiction blog 'Oranderra' until I stopped updating. This is a slightly altered version of the first series.)
