《Growing Old》Battle

The battle had commenced. It was hot, it was ashy. Normal clouds and clouds of ash loomed over the burning city, blocking the sunlight and making it seem dark among the already bright flames.
Izuku charged forward, quickly. Sparks flashed around him as he raised his arm and swung it forward. Shigaraki dodged, shooting the black tendrils out of his fingers towards the greenette. The hero had his gaze on them, everything seemingly in slow motion as he jumped, flipping upside down and flicking his middle finger to the villain. The blue haired man was sent flying by the wind, crashing into a building.
Bakugo ripped off the shoulders of his costume, getting too hot. His muscles pulsed as pops of explosions came out of his hands. Dabi held his hands behind his back, not even flinching at the commotion around them.
"Come on. Don't be shy." Dabi smiled. "Throw a punch!"
The blonde growled, ripping forward and launching an explosion at the noirette. The villain grinned mischievously, sending a wall of blue flames between them.
"Kacchan! We need to move." Izuku yelled, bouncing from walls and streets frantically. "It's too hot!"
"I'm not fleeing from this fight! We stop this here and now and forever!" Bakugo spat back.
Izuku huffed, "Would you rather get cremated alive and not even get the chance to land a hit on them?!"
Bakugo growled, a little pride getting to him. He launched himself up to Izuku, who was literally bouncing from wall to wall to street to wall. The ground rumbled, a dark line on the ground quickly sprouting towards them.
"Split!" Bakugo screamed, the two splitting in opposite directions.
The dark line hit a building, it and the ground it touched disintegrating. The dust of it flew into the air, adding on with the ash in the sky.

"Where the hells our backup?!" Bakugo asked.
Izuku coughed into his arm, glancing up at the sky, "I'm not sure, but-"
Izuku screeched as a tendril ripped through his shoulder and flinging him to a wall. He was pinned in place, excruciating pain throughout his arm and shoulder. Bakugo turned, just able to dodge a tendril by an inch.
Shigaraki grinned, "Some number 1 hero you are, Midoriya. You can never get distracted on the job."
"Talk all you want, Tomura." Izuku spat, gripping at the tendril in his shoulder. "Wouldn't that be distracting?"
Shigaraki quirked an eyebrow up, only to get launched into the air by an explosion. The tendril ripped away and Izuku pushed himself up, bouncing up into the air and landing a hit on the villain, who was slammed into the ground.
Dabi swung his arm forward, Fire erupting up at the Izuku. The hero whipped his head towards the fire, sparks flying out of his eyes as he dodged, skirting to the side and then forwards.
The blonde grabbed him, ripping him away from the fight as the ground trembled. Things started to decay all around them, getting inches closer every second.
"We need to get them to a remote location!" Bakugo yelled as they ran.
Izuku kept his eyes forward, occasionally glancing back at the villains chasing them, "You're right. I know just the place. Let's go!"

Author's Thoughts: I want to return to this story one day, perhaps in a re-write. Ended up writing an entire other novel and now might have the confidence to undertake this to write another story.
