The island of Sardinia, it is still the same the last time Latte came here. Latte had to replace her clothes since her coat was used to wrap up the team's wounds. She doesn't mind since she likes to change clothes once and a while. If they are able to defeat the boss, Latte wouldn't mind having a shopping spree with Trish. The young woman glance at Latte's new clothes and nod her head in approval.
Following Bruno, Latte glances at the short stone pillar with curiosity. This is the place where they can solve the clue. The capo glances at Latte who looks around the area for anything that seems out of place. "This is the place." Leone spoke out. Narancia stood beside Bruno to use his stand's scanner for any sign of the enemy. It took a couple of minutes for Narancia to speak up. "Nothing out of the ordinary." Bruno told him to keep watch.
Bruno looks at the mute woman who stares at the stone pillar. "Latte." She turns her body to face Bruno. "Can you use your stand to make us invisible?" He asks as he saw what her stand could do firsthand. Latte shakes her head then holds up one finger. This tells him that she could only make one invisible. Then, Latte wrote to Bruno in her notepad.
"I can only make one person invisible." Bruno nods his head then gestures to Leone. "It would be a good idea to make him invisible while he used his stand." He spoke up. Leone frowns at his idea. "I don't think so. Who knows what she will do-"
"Abbacchio, I understand you don't trust her but her stand will be useful in this situation. Moody Blues are important in this mission." He spoke softly, "Your cooperation with her will help us in defeating the boss." Latte looks at Leone who made eye contact with her. She holds out her hand to Leone as a sign of partnership. Leone's eyes harden for a second then looks away from her. "Fine." He accepts.
Latte put down her hand then shrugs her shoulders at Bruno. He gave her a sympathetic look. "An enemy!" Narancia spoke out, "He's down! Li'l Bomber finished him off!" Leone nods his head then volunteers that he should check it out. Bruno stops him as they need his stand to replay the footage for them. "You need to hurry and replay the footage of the one who took the photo of Trish's mother fifteen years ago." He told Leone. The silver haired man simply said that they should check out the top of the cliff since their experience at the plane made him anxious.
Bruno and Narancia left them to check who is on top of the cliff. Before they left, Bruno told Latte to use her stand. She nods then her stand displays her mirror head. Her stand break into pieces to move towards Leone to cover his whole body. This made him invisible to the naked eye. "...Right." Leone spoke up. Bruno nods his head in satisfaction. Moody Blues appears next to the invisible Leone. Latte looks at Moody Blues as Leone informs Bruno that he needs eight to ten minutes.

"Do it in five." Bruno told him. Narancia sends his stand to signal for the others to join them. The two of them left, leaving Latte with Leone. She looks at his stand as it begins rewinding itself. His back is to Latte, looking at the stone pillar. Latte tap her chin, thinking then snaps her fingers. Her snap made Leone look behind him. He flinches to see a mirror image of himself standing for him.
Leone almost cursed at the mute woman but Latte motions him to be quiet. Latte stood next to his stand, looking at the stone cliff. The invisible man stood at her left. He watch Latte begin to write on the notepad. "It will be weird if an enemy saw your stand alone without you. The enemy knows your stand. I will act as decoy while you focus on your job." Leone becomes silent then clicks his tongue. He has to admit, she is right and this plan is well-thought out. Taking his silence as acceptance, Latte smiles at the invisible Leone then puts away her notepad.
While Leone focuses on his stand, the disguised Latte glances to her right to see children playing football on the beach. One of the boys had kick the football on a tree branch. The other children begin to complain. "Go get it already!" One of them spoke up. Leone looks at his stand with a frown. "How long is this gonna take?" He grumbles under his breath. The sound of children made the both of them look.
Latte could feel how annoyed he is. She stops him from speaking up by she leaving her spot to approach the boys. Leone silently sighs then glances at his stand to check the date. Latte lifts her arm to hit the ball from the branch. The children thank her then walks away from their spot. "Thanks Mister!" Latte waves to them. Two children run past her then another voice gave her a thank you. Leone turns his head to see Latte walking back to him. His shoulders slack to see a smile on her face. He is glad that mess was solved.
Time stops for both of them.
The feeling of pain made her mouth drop open. No sound left her lips as a stand's arm went through her body. Leone saw fear in her pink and brown eyes displays fear. Blood splatters on the floor as King Crimson rips out his arm from her body. Leone almost shouts at the sight but the look in her eyes silence him.
Keep quiet...make no sound, Abbacchio.
"Nothing beats coming back home." A cold voice made him still. Latte fell on her stomach as the child with pink hair left the scene. Leone looks at his hands to see mirror pieces breaking away. Her disguise broke away. Without hesitation, he rushes to her side and moves her to his arms. Blood coat her lips as her hands rest on the hole in her stomach. "Shit!" Leone curses under his breath. He saw her eyes fluttering, threatening to be shut. Leone lightly slaps her cheek, "Don't fall asleep on me. Stay awake!" He quickly scans his surroundings for any sign of his team mates. His voice of desperation made Latte desperately stay awake.

Latte's lips shakes as pain took over her senses. The taste of iron fills her tongue. Just now, the mute woman realizes that she has a hole in her stomach. Her left hand weakly grips Leone's coat, signaling to him that she is still here. Her eyes connect with Leone. She saw unmatched fear in his eyes. This is the first time she saw him like this.
"Damn it, where is Giorno when you need him!?" He shouts out. Leone felt the creeping fear of losing someone run through his veins. Panic begins to set in as he looks down at the bleeding woman. Flashes of his former partner's bleeding body appear his very eyes. It is like the past is playing over again. He felt hot tears forming but no tears left his eyes. "Y-You...!" He had no words.
The man didn't waste anytime picking her up in his arms. Leone quickly runs from his spot to shout out his team mates' names. "Abbacchio!" His eyes lands on Giorno and Mista running towards them. The sight of a bleeding Latte in Leone's arms made them blood turn cold. "Giorno-!" Leone only said. The teenager quickly summons Gold Experience. Leone fell on his knees to place her in front of Giorno.
"What happened, Abbacchio...?" Mista utters out. His skin turns pale at the sight. Leone grits his teeth, unable to answer. "She is losing blood fast...weak heart beat." Giorno whispers as his stand lay a hand on the hole at her stomach. He quickly uses one of his brooches to create a new stomach for her. Giorno tries his best to speed up the process, fearing losing her if he wastes too much time. The others watch in painful silence. "The boss shown up..." Abbacchio finally spoke up, "Latte...she used her stand to hide me and transform herself as me. She volunteers herself to be a decoy." He let out a sharp breath.
Mista's hands form into a fist. Footsteps made Mista and Leone look up to see Bruno and Narancia approaching them. In a pained voice, Leone told the others what happen to Latte. Bruno looks at the pale woman. "Giorno." He broke the silence. "She is still breathing but barely." The teenager replies. To signal that she is still awake, she turns her head to Leone. Her pale lips form a tiny smile. Leone become still when seeing her smile. Behind her smile, she gave him a silent message.
"I am fine. Don't worry." Leone watches Latte hisses when feeling a new stomach form. The mute woman clench her jaw. Her hands dig on the ground at her sides, forcing herself to stay still. The different expressions of pain on her face doesn't compare to Mista's healing process. Leone felt bad for the mute woman as she cannot cry or scream like them. Golden experience starts working on other things that were missing such as muscles, blood, etc.
Painful minutes had past as Giorno finishes his work. Pulling back, the men looks down at the woman. Latte has sweat rolls down her face. That was an extremely painful experience especially the replacement of various parts. Weakly, her left hand to signal she is okay. Narancia and the others sigh out in relief. She saw tears run down Narancia's face. "D-don't scare us like that!" His voice cracks at the end of his sentence. Latte gave an apologetic look.
The mute woman struggles to stay awake. Then, she flinches when he pulls her into a hug. "I...W-we thought you-!" He couldn't form words. Mista pulls Narancia off of Latte. "Hey! You are hurting her!" He shouts at his friend. Leone quickly caught Latte before her back lands on the ground. Latte silently groans, "I just want to sleep now..." Bruno sighs at the sight then kneels down next to Latte. He places a hand on her right shoulder. "You give us a scare." He comments. Latte gave them an apologetic look. She was forced to turn to Leone who gave her a glare. Sweat rolls down her face.
This is where she dies - not by the boss but by Leone himself!
Leone begins to speak in a low voice, "You..." The mute woman become still as a statue, waiting for death. Then, he slowly puts down Latte on the ground. Leone stood up to his back turns to her. "Don't ever do that again, you hear me?" He finally said. Leone walks away from the group to go back to his stand. A soft chuckle left Bruno's lips which made her turn to him. "It's nothing. Now then, you stay here and let us do the rest." He left Latte in Giorno's care.
Mentally, Leone berates the mute woman but secretly glad she is still alive and kicking.

Is it a mistake to challenge fate, after all? *** The world-building is set upon on the universal scale, with dungeon and old-style fantasy. It has a progression that follows with the consistency of a dungeon setting, although it's not what you call a dungeon, but a function of a crystal. There's a lot to take in this novel, but that's all within my intention. I have always enjoyed challenging conventional ideas. The cover is not mine, it's just temporary.
