The sight of two stacks of fresh pancakes on a plate made Trish's stomach rumble. Her blue eyes look up to see Latte's smile to her. The seventeen year old Latte wore a white apron over her clothes as she cooked breakfast for the pink haired teenager. Trish looks down at the plate and the table fill with other plates such as eggs, strawberries, bacon, and many more.
Trish heard the sound of tapping on the table which is Latte's way of getting her attention. In Latte's hand is a bag of grounded coffee and a pitcher of orange juice in her other hand. Her eyes gave Trish the muted message - "Coffee or Juice?". "Oh, Coffee." Trish replies which Latte nods with a smile. Turning her back to Trish, Latte begins to brew coffee for Trish at the kitchen counter.
Being thrusted to this lifestyle without warning, Trish almost lost a night of sleep over it. She is silently thankful to be given a clean room with a comfortable bed for the night. Pericolo told the young girl that Latte will be the one to protect her and make sure is comfortable. In his words, Trish can trust the mute woman.
Trish broke out of her thoughts when a cup of coffee is place next to her plate. She nods her head, a silent gesture of appreciation. Latte displays a look of satisfaction then moves back to the used pan which she cooked with on the stove. Trish lifts up her fork and knife then begins eating the pancakes before it gets too cold. The sound of water and scrubbing tells her that Latte is cleaning up. Once she clean up, Latte brew herself a cup of coffee with a plate of pancakes. She checks how much Trish is eating.
She notes that Trish has eaten what she has on her plate including a bit of strawberries on the side. "I'm going to take a shower." Trish announces, leaving the dishes behind. Latte nods her head. Trish left the table to walk back to her room. As she left, Pericolo enters the kitchen area shortly after. He greets Latte then his expression turns serious.
"Polpo has committed suicide." This made Latte pause. She wonders why this capo commit suicide inside his prison cell. Then, Latte forming hand signs in response.

"Then, who will escort Miss Una to the boss?"
"It might be possible that one group will be the ones escorting Miss Trish." Latte's brows furrow in response,"...Which is?" Pericolo hums then answers her question. "A group which is led by Bruno Bucciarati. Their team is quite strong especially in this type of mission since they are under Polpo." Latte silently thinks to herself. She heard a bit of the team as they are stand users.
"Because of this, we need to hide ourselves from sight until further notice." He declares," Furthermore, keep your eyes and ears out for any sign of trouble." Behind those words, Latte understood her mission. Finishing her cup of coffee, she removes her apron to hang it up at the hook next to the doorway. She wipes away any thing that clung to her clothes and straighten it up. Pericolo follows the young woman to the front door. Latte take her pink parasol from the umbrella stand then turns to her capo.
With a simple wave, she left the safe house to begin her mission.
They had left Trish's town to a place in Capri. Latte admires the scenery of the vast sea. In her hands, there is a pair of binoculars. Peering through, her eyes caught sight a boat in the distance. Mentally noting how many people in this small boat, Latte count six people. What an interesting sight for the young woman. She removes the binoculars when seeing something or someone approaching the shoreline from the boat.
It seems that she found the group that she is looking for. Latte walks away from her spot with her parasol hook resting on her right wrist. She has to hurry and find some way to get close to the group and observe what they will do next.
Approaching a small café close to the shoreline, Latte heard a man from the café announcing a transmission from Mr. Zucchero on the Lagoon when moving to the back. Her eyes caught the sight of a male truck driver leaving his truck for a moment. A small smile appears on her face as a thought forms in her mind. Heels clicking against the concrete, Latte silently approaches the truck driver then pinches the back of his neck. Hitting the nerve points, the man was knocked out cold. She moved the man beside the building. Latte heard the sound of gun shots nearby. She moves to grab the truck keys from the man's pocket.

With a click of her heels, small pieces of mirror shards forms under her feet to move up. The mirror shards transform Latte to take the appearance of the truck driver. Latte barely enter the truck as the back door of the café open to reveal a male with orange hair quickly moving towards the truck. Blood spills on the ground as the fleeing male climbs on the truck.
Latte peers into the side mirror to see one of Bruno's men holding a revolver. His appearance caught her attention - a unique headgear, blue and orange turtleneck crop top, and tiger stripped pants. From the files she read, the man is Mista Guido. Latte has a tiny smile. It looks like he is on a hunt. "Let's make things interesting." She thought to herself. Putting the key, she brings the truck back to life. Putting the truck in drive, Latte press on the gas petal to drive the truck up the hill.
Without hesitation, Mista runs to the passenger's side of the truck. Looking into the truck, his eyes connect with the disguised Latte. Latte plays the act of a fearful driver as the revolver points at her. "Eat lead!" He shouts then points the gun at his target who is standing the top of the truck. "The truck driver must be the owner because his right leg isn't injured." He announces. Latte notes the look of surprise on the gunner's face as he moves closer to the roof. Shaking her head, Latte focuses on driving while the gunner tries to take down his target.
He moves to Latte, "Hey! How long are you gunna keep driving?! Stop the damn truck, you dumbass!" The gunner saw the look of 'fear' on Latte's face as she 'struggles' to speak up. Hearing his target's explain the situation, Latte let out a sigh. It seems that she can't do anything since he has control over everything relating to this truck. If he doesn't fix this problem, then she would be forced to take him down.
At the corner of her eye, she saw small yellow creatures close to Mista. It must be his stand at work. She heard the sound of gunfire. Then, Latte saw he is able to climb to the top of the truck. The enemy's stand lost its power over the truck. She could hear his shouting about the number four. Silently chuckling, Latte is able to move her hands and feet. Before she could stop the truck, Mista moves down to her driver's window.
"Don't you stop the truck!" He tells her, "Listen, you will take me back to the Marina Grande. I won't harm you. I'll even thank you if you take me back." He takes in the sight of her nod and 'fearful' expression. "Hmph, he is even too scared to answer back." He thought to himself. Latte and Mista looks at the cliff side to see his target still alive. "Stop the truck!" Mista shouts out. Latte steps on the break to stop the truck. Mista's target moves towards them. Without hesitation, Mista tells her to drive.
Shaking her head, Latte steps on the gas to drive forward. They are fighting on the roof again. The sight of Mista at her window tells her that he won this battle. "Take me back to Marina!" He told her. Latte nods her head as Mista let out a noise of annoyance.
Latte drove Mista and his target back to Marina as she park the truck. She watches the man drag the bloody man in tow as they enter the café. That is enough excitement for her today, Latte left the truck with the key still in the ignition. Just as she left the area discarding her disguise, the truck driver waken from his slumber to move towards the truck.
He didn't know what happen to him as a young man with golden hair climbs to the passenger's side demanding to take him to the top of the hill quickly. The poor truck driver didn't know what transpire a few minutes ago.

8 70Nights of Sambria: And the Wish of Light
“I discovered a secret. One I desperately wish could have stayed hidden. It was locked away, concealed in a fantastical world on the doorstep of 7 billion people who stayed utterly oblivious to it. If they will be spared the terror that is coming, I can’t begin to imagine. Know that a forgotten heritage of a dwindling people whispered, unknowingly sending a call to the ancient mysteries of the world. Something listened. And now events are set in motion that could force the earth on a course of terrible change. I am being hunted and have run out of time. There were no stories about it. No legends. Not even scribbles. Yet, the threat of it is real and that’s why I’m writing this warning with shaking hands. So pay attention those who read this, be careful of what lies waiting cloaked in the darkness. That which made their home the lost places of this world.” She folded the letter with a shuddering breath and stared back in the direction from where the noise reverberated through the halls. It was of stone doors shattering one by one. The chances of getting out safely were all but gone. The letter in her hand was all warning they would have. It dropped into one of the Wells and all that could be done now was hope it was found in time, if at all. -- This was my very first large story. ;) I started writing it years ago. Was fun, was difficult, but in the end, it is a story I hope that will inspire. The prologue is in first person perspective and the rest of the story in 3d. Just a little heads-up :P It is a fantasy epic with a contemporary twist for the start. The first arc of the novel is set inside our modern world, but as the mysterious events around Calin intensifies, the hidden secrets in the world start to become more fantastical. The story follows Calin, a young orphan in search of answers. But, the answers he seeks will change his life and that of his friends forever, for the secrets that caused his situation have far greater ramifications than the small village of Lamb's Crest could have known. Remember to leave ratings and reviews. I'm quite interested in hearing your thoughts on the story. ;) Enjoy reading, Omri Hope
