Marrying off a son is by far easier than marrying off a daughter. The only bad thing is we had to fly our whole family out to Oregon. Violet insisted that they get married at her family's church. They got engaged on Valentine's day and somehow they managed to get married this quickly.

As I watch Stevie dancing around in a flowing violet-colored chiffon dress twirling Emmeline around, my heart is full.

"You're looking at mom like she hung the moon," Josh says coming up next to me. The rock and roll lifestyle has done well for him, the only thing I don't approve of is the buzzed haircut. But it's the in thing now I guess. Mason also had his hair buzzed for his job but since he's been back home he's been letting it grow out just until it starts curling and then he chops it off again.

"She made me the happiest man in the world, giving me you four kids, taking a chance on me back in the sixties. In a way, she did hang the moon... My moon anyway...Someday you'll find someone that you look at the same way." I tell him.

"I hope you're right. April cheated on me. We broke up right before we came out here." Josh says.

"Well, your mother didn't like her so one good thing is that now, I won't have to hear her complain about April." I chuckle.

"Dad." Josh gasps.

"I'm sorry, but it's true." I hold my hands up in defense.

Alright, who wants to start expressing what they're thankful for this year?" I ask sitting at my seat. The whole family gathered at the Pacific Palisades home. Violet started and we made our way back around to Sara.

"Nick and I have a joint one this year. We've been married for a few years now and this came as a total shock. But a good one none the less. Almost eleven years ago, my mom was thankful for the same thing. Nick and I are thankful that we will be expanding our family. I am four months pregnant. We're due in April." Sara explains.

"Lindsey! We're going to be grandparents." I gasp shooting up from my chair and hugging Sara and Nick.

Passionate sex doesn't always happen in our house. There's too much going on and Emmeline is the lightest sleeper out of all of our kids. I dropped a pan downstairs when she was about three. It was just her and me in the house and she was napping upstairs with the door shut and as soon as the pan hit the floor she wailed. I went upstairs to check on her. She wasn't wet she had just eaten lunch and she was still so sleepy. I just had woken her up. She's also the one that if you do wake her up you can't get her to go back to sleep.

So, when Emmeline asked to go stay at her best friend Makenna's house, Lindsey and I immediately said yes. However, halfway through, our phone rang. We ignored it at first, but it rang again. So here we are at Cedars Sinai, in the waiting room in anticipation for the arrival of our first grandchild to come into the world.

It's nearing seven and we've been here since eleven. The receptionist glaring at us because we aren't technically supposed to be here. Falling asleep on Lindsey is easy as he's been out for a good three hours now, light snores escaping his lips as his head is loomed back over the chair.

"Mom, do you want to come to meet your grandson?" Nick startles me and kneels in front of us.

"Oh yes...Lindsey!" I say elbowing him.

"What?" He asks looking between me and Nick.

"You have a grandson," Nick says as Lindsey shoots up, knocking me off of him, and going towards the maternity ward.

As we walk into Sara's room, I can tell she's exhausted but she's absolutely glowing.

"Oh my baby," I say going over to the bed.

"Momma, meet Ryder Nicholas Jackson," Sara says handing him to me.

"Ryder, it is so nice to meet you. I'm your nana." I coo down at him sitting on the arm of the chair by her bed.

"And I'm your papa." Lindsey smiles brushing his calloused finger along the baby's soft cheek.

"So you guys decided to go with Nana and Papa?" Sara asks.

"Yes, we're rockstars. Our youngest is only almost twelve. Can you image the queen of rock and roll being called a grandma? It doesn't sound right at all." Lindsey scrunches up his nose.

"I am hardly the queen of rock. I haven't even put an album out in eleven years." I sigh handing the baby down to Lindsey.

"Maybe you should," Nick says.

"What do you mean?" I question.

"I grew up listening to your music. My mom will never admit it to your face but she's a huge fan. I've been asked countless times by her when you were going to release a new album." Nick explains.

"Yeah mom, You took time off to raise Emmy but she's going to be twelve in exactly one month. She's going to school all day. All you really do is drive her to dance on Tuesdays and Thursdays. And Swimming on Wednesday. The rest of the time you play with Sulamith and Mana and you watch soap operas. And I'm not going to lie. I'd like to hear more music from you." Sara chimes in.

"Yeah Steph, I've been putting albums out right and left. But they don't want me. They want you." Lindsey explains.

"Alright, I'll do it. I'll have Karen start working things out tomorrow. I've been itching to do some music. But Lindsey, I think I want to do it at The Palisades House." I say.

"If that's what you want Angel." He smiles.
