Time flies when you're having fun and boy has it been fun. Stevie's tour for Trouble in Shangri-La has finally come to an end. Emmeline is two. Sara is on her second year of Med School. Mason just graduated and he did enlist in the Army even though his mother had a conniption. She wanted him to gap a year and "re-examine his commitments". But in true Buckingham fashion, he didn't.

I took Josh and Emmeline to my meeting today, it was just with Mick and he'd been wanting to see Emmeline. Mason was sent somewhere in Kentucky for boot camp last week. Stevie hasn't really slept well since he's been gone. He called last night so for the first time in a hot second Stevie finally got a decent amount of sleep. I wasn't going to let two young children jeopardize that.

As we pull into the house, there's a mustang that I am not too familiar with sitting in my driveway.

"Who's that?" Josh asks.

"Son, if I knew I'd tell you," I state getting out and going to grab Emmeline.

As we walk in, I hear my wife's infectious laughter coming from the living room. We walk in there and my stomach falls and rage boils up inside of it. My wife is sitting very close to Don Fucking Henley.

"Great. Pack you things Josh, we're moving." I say.

"Oh, Lindsey stop it. Don was here asking me if I'd go on tour with him." Stevie states.

"Stevie, you just got back from a tour." I sigh.

"I know. But it starts in September and goes until March. It would be called two voices and we'd share the billing." Stevie explains.

"Alone...with him...I mean it's your choice. Emmy, Josh, and I will be here. Won't we Emmy?" I direct my sentence to the baby in my arms.

"Daddy." She laughs looking at me and hugging my neck. I kiss her cheek and set her down.

"Go play sweetheart," I tell her. She toddles over to her toy box and grabs her toy blocks. Stevie gets down on the floor to play with her.

"Well Don, when do we start rehearsing?" She asks.

"I'll call you. Probably in August. Steves, she looks just like you." Don coos. I gag and Josh quietly chuckles. He's my little partner in crime.

"Yes, she does. She's her mama's mini-me." Stevie coos tickling her and kissing her chubby cheeks,

"I'm going to go. I can't wait to work with you again." Don says leaning over and giving her a kiss on her cheek and patting Emmeline's head.

After dinner, Josh takes Emmeline upstairs and Stevie pulls me aside.

"You're not happy about me going on tour with Don." She says.

"No, I'm not. Stevie, you slept with him. Actually had sex with the man. The affair was highly publicized. After twenty years it's finally died down. Our kids don't know about it. What happens when everything is brought back up. Three of our four do know how to read." I tell her.

"But Lindsey, I really want to go." She looks at me.

"Stevie, I can't stop you from going." I sigh.

"I love you. I'm married to you. I won't let anything happen." Stevie looks at me.

I just shrug and start the dishes.

"Don Henley and Stevie Nicks embraced on stage last night, and it's bringing back many memories. Stevie Nicks and Don Henley had a year-long affair back in the eighties when he did a duet with her on her debut solo album Bella Donna. Stevie Nick has been married since the seventies to music producer and Fleetwood Mac bandmate Lindsey Buckingham. The couple has four children together. Don is married as well with two of his own kids. Will the affair resurface?" The announcer says as I watch the cereal fall out of the oldest's mouth. Emmeline just bangs her spoon on the high chair.

"Mom had an affair?" Sara questions.

"Yes. Do you remember when you had your appendix out and we couldn't get in touch with your mother...she was with him." I say.

"And you're okay with them touring together?" Sara squawks.

"Not really...as a matter of fact, I'm pissed. But I can't control your mother. She's going to do what she thinks is going to be good for her solo career." I sigh putting the waffles I was able to scrounge up on a plate for the boys.

"But what if it happens again?" Joshua questions. Though he's only in seventh grade he knows a lot more than he probably should.

"Josh, I don't know. We'll cross that bridge if we get there." I shrug taking Emmeline out of her chair.

"Well, I don't like it." Sara sighs getting and putting her bowl in the sink.

"Happy Birthday daddy. I have a lab but I'll be home so we can do dinner. I made a reservation at Pierre's for seven o'clock." Sara smiles kissing my cheek.

"Just so you know, your sister will not be wearing tights with a dress. I can't put those damn things on her." I state.

"That's okay. As long as she's dressed up. And you." She points grabbing her bags.

"No promises." I chuckle.

When six o'clock rolls around, I have Emmeline dressed in the sweetest Navy blue dress with a little black sweater and her black saddle shoes. I'm not the best when it comes to dressing my children but I have gotten better since I dressed Sara in a ducky ruffly one piece and a froggy bib. I pin her blonde bangs back with a navy blue ribbon and go dress in a navy blue button-down and black pants.

Pierre's is packed when we get there, but Sara expertly gets us to the materdee who brings us to our table in a private corner.

"Daddy, have you heard anything from Mason?" Sara asks.

"No, last I heard was that he was getting Christmas and Thanksgiving, but everything isn't set in stone." I shrug.

"Mama!" Emmeline cheers slamming her hands on the kiddie chair they gave us.

"Mom's not here Emmy," I say grabbing her hands.

"Mama!" She repeats.

"Hello, dove." I hear Stevie say as I whip around and see her walk over to us taking the baby out of the seat and placing her on her lap.

"Oh my goodness! You two match!" Stevie coos fixing my collar.

"What can I get you to drink ma'am?" The waiter asks.

"Um your best red please." Stevie answers.

"We just got appetizers," Josh tells his mother.

"Great. We'll be ready when you get back with the wine." Stevie smiles back at the waiter.

"Steph, you're supposed to be on the road." I smile.

"Well, your birthday is important. we're in San Francisco tomorrow so it's not that far. Tonight would've been rehearsals anyway." Stevie states leaning over and kissing me.

"Everyone ready?" Our waiter comes back.

"Yes, I'll have an eight-ounce steak with potatoes and a salad." I start.

Josh orders spaghetti and Sara, like her mother orders the baked chicken with salad and asparagus. When we get home, Stevie insists on a picture of me and Emmeline before putting her to bed.

Late that night when we know even our night owl, Sara is asleep we crawl into bed and Stevie immediately pounces on me.

"Lindsey I love you." She states.

"What did you do?" I ask stopping her advances.

"Nothing, I promise. It's just...Don and I sing three songs together. And he's been getting really handsy on stage. But I swear we haven't done anything. His wife and daughters are touring with us." Stevie states shaking her head.

That's all I needed to know before I let her continue. We went two rounds, not bad for two fifty-year-olds, but then she asks the question I knew was coming.

"Come to San Francisco tomorrow night. It's Saturday, so you don't have to worry about school." She smiles laying her head on my chest.

I give in because she knows that I can't say no after sex.
