"Are you sure you want to keep going. You have surgery in two days." Lori says placing her hands on my belly. I think she's more excited to meet her niece or nephew than I am.

"Exactly, after my surgery, I'm down for three months and the label is breathing down my neck. It's two in the morning, one more song and then we'll call it." I sigh rubbing my belly I've been cramping all day and I'm praying it's not what I think it is.

"Aren't you a little bit nervous about the surgery?" Sheryl Crow questions.

"I mean yes, but no. I've had surgery before in the abdominal region, Ovarian Cyst removal, but they were minor compared to this. They're literally slicing me open and taking out my insides to get the baby. I just hope everything goes well." I say putting pressure on my lower abdomen.

"With that being said, What song?" Mike Campbell asks

"Um, love is," I say going into the booth.

Half-way through the song, I feel an unmistakable pain. I sing through it and when the song is over I quickly shoo everyone out. Mike is still here fussing with his amps when I double over grabbing the railing to the stairs.

"Stevie?" Mike asks.

"Mike...I need you...to go...get Lindsey." I breath

"You're in labor aren't you?" Mike sighs and I just nod.

Three o'clock in the morning and someone is knocking aggressively on the door. I know it's not Stevie, she would just walk in. If it were one of my kids, They turn the knob to make sure it's not locked and then they'd walk in. So that means it's one of Stevie's people and I told her that during this recording process they weren't to bother me. Karen being my main target. Her and I clash. Badly.

"Mike? What's wrong?" I ask opening the door seeing a Heartbreaker with a worried expression on his face.

"Stevie's in labor." He tells me.

"What?" I ask softly.

"She's downstairs, she's in a lot of pain." Mike points

"Um alright. Let's go." I say pushing him out of the door.

I follow him down to the studio and when we get there Stevie is standing at the bottom of the stairs loomed over the railing. As soon as I get to her, I apply light pressure to her back. The three labors I've been a part of, pressing on her back has helped immensely.

"Lindsey, I am so scared," Stevie says crying and I know exactly what she's scared of because I'm scared of it too.

"I know, but right now sweetheart we need to get you to the Hospital," I tell her.

"We can't. My water hasn't broken yet," She shakes her head.

"Well then let's get you upstairs." I coo as she nods taking my hand and Mike's. We get halfway up the stairs when she stops for a contraction. Her head falling back into my neck both of her hands squeezing mine and Mike's tightly. He has his own kids and wife so he doesn't flinch when her nails dig into his hand.

When we get upstairs and to our bedroom, I turn to Mike.

"I don't know how long we're going to be here, but can you stay just until the kid's go to school. If we leave before they wake up someone needs to tell them where we are." I ask him.

"Of course, I'm going to go downstairs and sleep on the couch. Come get me if you need anything." He smiles hugging both of us.

In our bedroom, Stevie changes out of her leggings and flowy blouse and into a nightgown. She paces for a little while. Stopping to hunch over the foot of the bed when she has a contraction. We sway together for a while to relieve the pressure on her hips and then she crawls into bed to try to get some sleep, Only finding discomfort. While she's laboring Intensively sitting up in bed, crouched around her stomach, I change out of my black silk pajama bottoms and into jeans and a tee shirt. I grab out another set of clothes for Stevie when her water breaks.

It finally breaks at five fifteen two hours and fifteen minutes later. We get into a room at Cedars Sinai at six, and she is climbing the walls.

"Oh FUCK!" She yells rolling over. Laying down is of no comfort to her but she's restricted in bed because of the fetal heart monitor, they're taking extra precautions with her age.

"I'm sorry baby." I sigh rubbing her back.

She just groans and cries and moans. I feel horrible. I know she wanted a baby so badly, but I put her in this position. This labor is a lot harder than the other ones. She's in a lot more pain and I can see her energy plummeting quickly. At seven-thirty she's ready to push.

"Agh!" She screams.

"You can do it, Angel." I coach.

"Fuck! I'm trying." She cries.

"Come on Stephanie," The doctor yells.

"I can't AGH!' She sobs.

"Only a few more." The doctor says.

"I'm so tired. I can't." Stevie's drifting.

"Steph, stay with us. The sooner the baby is here the sooner you can rest. Come on" I coo.

"It hurts so bad, FUCK!" She screams and pushes.

"I WANTED THE GOD DAMN C-SECTION!" She cries.

"I'm sorry Stephanie. One more big push!" The doctor yells.

"AGH!" She screams.

"It's a girl!" The doctor cheers.

"It's a girl." Stevie sobs as the baby is placed on her chest.

"You were right Angel." I cry.

"I'm always right." She says weakly.

"Alright, we're going to take her away to run some tests and get her measurements." The nurse takes the baby.

"Lindsey, go with her," Stevie instructs, so I do,

I wait for fifteen minutes until the nurse has me go into the hall with her.

"Mr. Buckingham, her heart doesn't sound normal. We've been monitoring the heartbeat since you got here, but it started sounding different after delivery. We're going to take her to the NICU and see what our neonatologist says. I'll let you know when I know more. As for right now though, she's five pounds even. A little underweight but healthy and she's eighteen inches long. The nurse says and my stomach drops.

"My daughter is Sara Buckingham, she's job shadowing here with your Neonatologist. Can you make sure she's there when they look at the baby?" I ask.

"I'll do my best." She nods.

"Thank you." I give a sad smile.

Going back into the room, I look around and there's the doctor still fumbling around between my wife's legs. Something I don't remember still happening after her other birth I've seen. Once Mason was weighed and tested the doctors had cleared out but something's wrong. I just know it and my heart sinks. One of the nurses sees me and quickly ushers me back out of the room. After about fifteen minutes of tormented waiting, the doctor finally emerges.

"Stephanie is okay, she started hemorrhaging. We were able to stop the bleeding by doing a uterine massage, but then the bleeding started back up. I had to insert a balloon catheter to stop the bleeding. Hopefully, tomorrow when we come in to remove it, the bleeding will have stopped. If not, we might have to go in and perform a hysterectomy. With that being said, she lost a lot of blood so we had to give her a transfusion but she's sleeping now. She looks a little rough, when you hemorrhage, your blood pressure drops and your breathing and heart rate decrease. She has an oxygen mask on, and she's super pale. She's still receiving the transfusion and she probably will be for the next twenty-four hours. I don't know how long she'll be out. Like I told you in the office, that labor and delivery did a number on her body. But she's lucky. " The doctor smiles laying a hand on my shoulder.

"Thank you," I sigh going into her room, the urge to vomit still filling my body.

Baby Buckingham was born at eight-twenty in the morning and I'm woken up from my catnap, with a warm hand shaking my bicep. I slowly open my eyes to meet Sara's chocolate eyes, the spitting image of her mother's. My stomach falls.

"Daddy, how's everything?" Sara asks.

"I don't know, you tell me. I was up at three-thirty, just dozing off there when you came in. Mom was up for twenty-four hours straight when she gave birth. She lost a lot of blood during the delivery they had to give her a transfusion and insert some balloon thing, I guess she was hemorrhaging and now she's asleep. Her OB doesn't know when she'll wake up." I shrug.

"Yes, about my baby sister. Daddy, she has a heart murmur. And a small hole in her heart. The hole isn't bad, it's tiny about the size of a pen cap. It's called VSD, Ventricular Septal Defect. I was able to find it because of how underweight she was. An average baby weighs about six pounds five ounces. She's only four pounds. She's breathing really fast as a result of that. Now, the hole could very well close on its own, but if it doesn't she'll have to have heart surgery. But when the hole is closed, her quality of life won't be affected. We're going to monitor her regularly and if there's any change I'll report it to you immediately. When should I bring the boy's by?" Sara asks.

"Not until we know more. We know that mom is actually okay and won't have to have a hysterectomy and we know your sister is okay." I say pointing to my wife.

"If we don't?" She looks at me.

"Friday, her Birthday." I smile.

"Alright, Dad, this is Dr. Charles Walton. He is the doctor I'm interning with. Dr. Walton this is my father Lindsey Buckingham and my mother Stevie Nicks." Sara says.

"Please to meet you, Mr. Buckingham, my wife is a huge fan of Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Nicks." He chuckles.

"I wish she was awake to meet you. She'd love to meet you and thank you for helping both of my daughters." I smile shaking his hand.

"My pleasure, that's what I do." He says walking out.
