《Timeless》20

Christmas is coming, I've done all of the shopping and Stevie is trying to get home on Christmas Eve. Sara's at school and our families are all here. We're watching a celebrity news channel per four-month pregnant Merridith's request when the announcer says something that catches my attention.

Stevie Nicks from the band Fleetwood Mac was spotted for a second time with Don Henley. They were seen walking out of a club in New York where Don Henley lives and Nicks is reportedly working on her long-awaited debut solo album. With hit's like Rhiannon, Landslide, Dreams, Gold Dust Woman, and Sara, a song written for her daughter, it's almost certain that this album is going to be a big hit. Don Henley is rumored to be on her album with a steamy duet. Though still wearing her wedding ring, from Fleetwood Mac bandmate Lindsey Buckingham the two have not been seen together in seven months following the birth of their second child. Is the Buckingham family falling apart? Fleetwood Mac's third studio album was released two months ago and it has not matched to the former album Rumours. Record scout Carol Ann Harris told STARTV that Buckingham had reached new lows while producing Tusk. Banging on tissue boxes and grunting on the floor. Almost as if he had gone insane. Even aggressively pulling a pregnant Stevie close to him during a photo shoot. Is Stevie finally fed up with Lindsey Buckingham?

The water glass I'm drinking out of hits the wall and I go towards my studio.

"Mom, will you pick Sara up at noon?" I ask

"Absolutely go cool off." My mother says.

"I'll clean this up, Lindsey." Barbara sighs placing her hands on my shoulders,

"And I'll watch Mason." Jess smiles.

As soon as I'm down in my bunker, I think about what the reporter says, and I write one little line

So, I go insane like I always do

Then something completely different flashes through my mind and I switch guitars.

Lookin out for love in the night so still

Oh I'll build you a kingdom

In that house on the hill

Lookin out for love ah, aha

Big, big, love, ahh oh

You said that you love me

And that you always will

Oh you begged me to keep you

In that house on the hill

Lookin out for love, ah, ah

Big, big love, ahh oh

Well I wake up alone

With it all

I wake up

But only to fall

Lookin out for love, ah oh

Big, big love ahh, oh

Lookin out for love ah ah oh

Big big love ahh oh

By the time I'm cooled off, I make my way upstairs and my mom is getting ready to leave.

"I'll go." I stop her.

"Are you sure?" My mom questions.

"Yes, I have to talk to her teacher anyway." I smile

"Okay." My mom nods.

When I get to school they're watching a Christmas movie. I look in and motion for Angeline. She looks at me then goes over to her teacher's aide. When she walks out the first thing I notice is that she's dressed gorgeously in a Christmas green dress.

"Lindsey, you beckoned?" Angeline asks

"You said if I wanted to talk you'd listen," I say twiddling my thumbs.

"I did, you want to talk?" She asks

"Not here," I say discreetly motioning to nosy PTA mom Lisa.

"Um how about tonight at Albertos.?" She asks.

"Perfect. Sara goes to bed around eight so say I'll meet you there at 8:30." I suggest

"Sounds good. Would you like me to send Sara out early?" Angeline asks.

"No, I'm fine waiting." I shake my head

"Alright." She bites her lip enticingly.

A young mother starts making eyes at me. Eventually, she walks towards me and hands me a magazine.

Stevie Nicks was seen sneaking out of Don Henley's apartment building.

I couldn't finish reading it.

"Thank you. I'm Lindsey Buckingham. But I think you know that." I chuckle holding my hand out.

"Debra Byron. My daughter Samantha won't stop talking about Sara." She points into the classroom at my little girl hugging hers.

When they come out they immediately traipse over to us.

"Daddy this is my best friend Sammy. Could I go over to her house over break?" Sara states.

"Or could I go over to Sara's?" Samantha asks.

"Tell you what, I'll give Mrs. Byron our number and we'll talk about it." I smile grabbing the magazine and a pen writing our phone number on it.

"Thanks, daddy!" Sara cheers.

At eight, after Sara's in bed I go to get ready. Stevie always says blue makes my eyes glow, so I chose a silk light blue button up and a tan suit jacket. I wear jeans and brown loafers and make my way downstairs. When I get to the bottom of the stairs and walk into the living room they all look at me.

"I hope you're going on a date." Jess scoffs. My mouth hangs open wide.

"Really? You'd allow me to cheat on your daughter." I look him right in the eye.

"Well, that's what it looks like she's doing. That's the only reason. Give her a taste of her own medicine." Jess explains.

"Well, I don't know if you could classify it as a date. She knows what's going on with Stevie and she offered to listen if I wanted to talk. It's Sara's teacher." I explain.

"Just have fun. We'll hold the fort down." My mom smiles.

At the bar, I spot Angeline immediately. She's changed to a smoking hot red dress.

"Lindsey." She waves me over.

"Hi, Angeline." I smile

"I ordered some red wine. I hope you don't mind." Angeline says.

"Not at all, well, where do I begin?" I ask as the bartender hands me, my class.

"The beginning." Angeline states.

So I do. At the end of my rant, she looks at me.

"She really kept you from holding your baby girl?" She asks.

"For two whole months." I sigh thinking about Sara.

"And she didn't respect your opinion on her solo album?" Angeline questions.

"Yep. I don't know what to do. I'm sick of it all but I love her at the same time though, I hate her for all of this. She left me home alone with a baby who still needs his mother and Sara." I sigh

"Come dance with me." Angeline stands and leads me to the floor. A slow rock song is playing and I hold her close. As we're swaying back and forth she lays her head on my chest.

"She does love you though. No matter what she's doing and not showing you it. When she picked Sara up that first day of school, I called you Lindsey and her eyes narrowed. She got just as possessive as she claims you are. But she's lucky because you're an amazing person and the love you have for your children radiates from you. Any woman would be lucky to have you. Selfishly, I wish you weren't married. But I wouldn't do that to anyone. Not even as revenge for them doing it first." Angeline smiles sadly.

"What are you saying?" I ask.

"I like you a lot. But I won't be a second woman. I want us to be friends. Best friends. Can we do that?" Angeline asks looking up at me.

"We can. But can I do something first?" I ask lifting her chin slightly.

"Just this once." She agrees, and I kiss her.
