《Timeless》13

Rhiannon has sold over a million copies and debuted at number four on the charts. In other words, Rhiannon is making us money. Tomorrow is Sara's first birthday and we are going to celebrate. My mom is hosting, and Stevie's family flew in. We've made four million dollars in a year with Fleetwood Mac. We've opened a rainy-day account and a savings for Sara. I've also broke ground on our home. It'll be finished as soon as we come off tour. We're going on a proper world tour, Not just bouncing from festival to festival. Millions of people all through America and overseas. We leave in a week.

Not normally a morning person, since Sara has developed a pattern where she doesn't sleep until midnight and wakes around eleven like her mother, Stevie was up at eight o'clock. Eventually, we're going to have to make her go to bed earlier, because midnight is not an ideal time of bed for a little girl going to school, but we still have a couple of years for that.

"Linds...come on we have to decorate." She's pulling at my arm. I've been awake since six, I am a morning person. I've just been tuning and lightly playing my guitar. Stevie is a heavy sleeper.

"Stevie, she's one she's not going to remember it." I sigh.

"I know, but I'm taking a lot of pictures and I want them to be nice. Besides, Mick and the McVie's will be here at ten." Stevie says digging in our bag.

Mick got her started on something I'm not too okay with. He introduced her to cocaine. I've heard it's cool and its just recreation but she's snorting it way more than she needs to. It gives her energy.

"They would've had to leave at five in the morning. DO you really think they'll be here at ten?" I ask getting up as she starts her white lines.

We've known them for a year now. Christine lives off Cocaine and wine, and I'm partially sure that's why Stevie even considered doing it, let alone started it. John is a raging alcoholic. He's mean when he's drunk. Mick is addicted to cocaine and he likes to party. His wife just divorced him a second time and took their kids back to London. They also are never on time unless they are physically brought places.

"Christine is bound and determined to be here before noon." Stevie says wrapping her black silk robe over her shoulders. I toss a pair of sweatpants on and follow her downstairs.

Sara is sleeping in her playpen down in the living room. My mom is sitting at the kitchen table with a cup of coffee, Greg and Meredith.

"Your child sleeps like a rock. I brought her down at six when I got up and she's still sound asleep." My mother says.

"She sleeps just like her mother." I smile as Stevie hits my arm and I wince.

"She looks like you as well." Mom adds.

"Well, ...she has Lindsey's ears and nose. And even though this perm says different my hair is straight as a pin, she gets her little waves from Lindsey." Stevie peers in on our sleeping beauty.

"So why are you here so early? Party starts at three." I ask pouring myself a cup of coffee.

"Well, Merbear and I..." He starts but I cut him off.

"Wait...Merbear?" I laugh.

"You call Stevie Angel, I call Meredith Merbear. Anyway, we're engaged." Greg says as Meredith holds up her hand.

Stevie nearly spits her drink out.

"Wow, when's the wedding?" I question.

"We're thinking of July. We don't want a long engagement. How long was yours?" Meredith questions.

"Eleven months. I proposed in February we got married in January the following year. But we're in Europe in July." I say.

"Well, you don't have to come." Meredith shrugs.

"No, I'll be here but I might get in big trouble and Stevie might not be able to attend," I explain.

"Why don't you wait for your band to get here and talk about it," Mom interjects.

"Adda! Adda!" We hear from the cot. I immediately go and grab her.

Sara started talking at six months. Her first word was "Nny." She was meaning to say, Ginny. Then it was Adda and I cried. The d, is still hard for her to pronounce but we're working on it. Then it was nanas for Banana. The last word she really learned how to say was mama and Stevie was fuming.

"Morning sweet girl, do you want breakfast?" I ask walking into the kitchen.

"Mama nanas." She says nuzzling into my neck.

"What do we say, Sara? Please." Stevie looks at her.

"Eeze." Sara repeats.

"Look Greg...one day that'll be us" Merridith coos.

At ten o'clock sharp, the doorbell rang. Stevie was feeding Sara oatmeal and bananas, mom was doing breakfast dishes and Greg and Merbear had left. Something about brunch with Meredith's family.

"I'll get it." I bellow jogging to the door.

Christine was extremely perky and jittery. Mick looked hungover, John looked exhausted, Jess looked annoyed. Barbara was just as jittery as Christine and Christopher just looked done.

"I'm surprised you're here at the same time." I chuckle.

"We just pulled up at the same time. We haven't even introduced ourselves yet." John says tiredly.

"Well, I'll do that for you. Barbara, Jess, Chris Nicks meet John and Christine McVie and Mick Fleetwood." I say.

"Chris and Chris, that'll be confusing," Stevie says coming up behind me, Sara on her hip.

"I'll be Christopher tonight." My brother-in-law says.

"Oh Teedee, look at her. She's getting so big." Barbara coos coming in and taking Sara from her mother.

"I wish you two lived in Arizona, so I could be closer." Barbara pouts.

"Then they'd be further from me." My mom comes into the entryway to meet everybody.

"I know but still," Barbara says hugging my mom.

"NO!" We hear a shout. Sara is trying to get away from the smothering. She's getting a tad bit angry. The poor child has my temper, that might cause problems when she's older.

"You be nice." Stevie scolds as Barbara sets her down and she walks towards poor Ginny. That dog puts up with so much, I'm surprised she still tolerates it.

By three everyone is here and the party is underway. Stevie is on line number two of the day and the cake is about to be brought out. Stevie and I sing and blow her candles out for her.

In the long run, this year was interesting. Robin still glares at me for going near my daughter. I've hurt my wife, I lost my dad, and I broke ground on a house and Stevie and I became millionaires.

Touring with Robin and a one-year-old won't be easy, be we aren't going to miss a year of our child's life if we can help it. Sara Rhiannon Buckingham comes first now.
