"Ugh," You let out as you rubbed your throbbing head. You could feel leaves in your hair, so you began to pick them out.
"Here, let me help you," a voice from behind you offered. You let out a little scream but calmed down when you realized that it was just Wirt. You noticed Greg standing off in the distance.
"What are you doing, Greg?" You asked.
"Oh, I'm thinking of a name for my frog!" Greg announced with a big smile. You could practically feel Wirt roll his eyes from behind you, so you punched his knee.
Once all of the sappy golden leaves were removed from your hair, you three began walking.
"Wait- where are we?" Wirt said after a few minutes.
"In the woods," Greg offered. You stifled a laugh. Wirt glared at you.
"But what Are we doing out here?" He asked again.
"We're walking home,"
"No, Greg. Guys I think we might be lost." Wirt said. He started freaking out. You walked over to him and rubbed circles on his back, trying your best to calm him down. All of a sudden, you and Greg heard a loud bang.
"What was that?" You asked.
"Let's Go See!" Greg exclaimed. He started running towards the sound, so you had no choice but to follow the sweet little five year old.
"Do you think it's some guy with an axe waiting outside for victims?" Wirt contemplated. You elbowed him in the rib cage as you didn't want Wirt to scare Greg.
You three hid behind a tree and carefully peeked out. You saw a man with an axe chopping a tree that looked really scary.
"We should ask him for help!" Greg whispered.
"No, we should not ask him for help," Wirt whisper-yelled.

"Wirt's right Greg. We don't know what his intentions are." You told the boy.
"Hey, maybe I could help you?" You Heard- from behind you. There on a tree branch stood a TALKING BIRD. You fell over and Wirt caught you. He started rambling.
"What in the world is going on?!"
"Well (y/n) fell, and you're slapping yourself, and I'm answering your question so-" Greg started to say.
"No Greg! A bird's brain isn't big enough for speech!" Wirt interrupted.
"Hey, what was that?!" The bird said, clearly offended.
"I'm just saying... you're weird," Wirt managed to get out. You were still completely dumbfounded by this mysterious bird, so you didn't even tell him off for being rude.
"What are you doing here, explain yourselves?!" A gruff male voice inquired from behind you.
"C-calm down mister, whatever you do here is your business." Wirt told the man, trying his best to remain absolutely calm.
"These woods Are no Place for children! Don't you know the beast is afoot here?!" The man yelled.
"The beast? We don't know anything about that. We're just three lost kids walking home," you told the man, with far more confidence than Wirt.
"Well, welcome to the unknown. You're more lost than you realize." The woodsman said. Wirt looked petrified, so you gave him a hug to calm his anxiety down. You decided that you had no choice but to trust the woodsman. You grabbed grabbed Greg's hand in one of yours, and Wirt's in the other, and followed the woodsman. You weren't quite sure why, but you felt very safe holding wirt's hand.

Redshirt: The Journey
Freedom and Order. Peace and War. Love and Hate. Hundreds of young children awaken in a damaged world, on the brink of societal collapse, witnessing the birth of an omnipotent system. Their roles are pre-determined, yet the very fabric of reality lie in their hands. The order of the world shapes them, just how they are free to shape the world in their disparate visions. Each choice, each action, each word, has consequences that reach far beyond their perception. Freedom or Order; ashes in the wind, or the gilded chains. Updates at least every Monday, Thursday, and every other Sarturday, (from 26/11/2021). This is primarily a story exploring what it means to be human, using a lens of a hopefully real-feeling fantasy world. This story is not a power fantasy or a traditional Litrpg , while it has elements of these genres, it will focus on how these tropes would influence real people and possibly Redshirt will break some of these tropes along the way. There will be a variety of different characters and perspectives, some you hate, some you love, and some that will frustrate. Just as all people do. I don't believe there will be anything overly traumatic or explicit, but it's better to be safe than sorry. There will be some heavy topics explored, the characters views do not reflect the authors; however, if there is an issue in how I present/understand these issues please do tell me, and I will try my best to rectify it. Even while her country strives to avoid conquest and defeat at the hands of their traditional enemies the Carrowmen, therefore, Princess Ardria journeys to Carrow to meet with the enemy King in an almost hopeless attempt to persuade him of the truth. All her hopes rest on the assumption that he in an unwitting dupe of the true enemy, but lurking at the back of her mind is the fear that he may be all too aware of the truth, that he may have sold out humanity for the promise of personal power. If this is true, then all that awaits her at the end of her journey through fear and danger is imprisonment and the life of a hostage to be used against her father, King Leothan. The Brigadier would help her if he could, but he and Malone, his former batman, are far away, each having their own missions to try and ensure the survival of human civilisation. Having completed his latest task, the Brigadier must race to join her, to assist and protect her, but will he reach her before she arrives at the palace of the enemy King? And will the Princess still have a country to be Princess of by the time she arrives there? Because even if Helberion manages to defeat the all conquering armies of Carrow there is another, even deadlier threat waiting in the wings against which there may be no defence... This is volume three of the Ontogeny series. If you haven't read volume one, Ontogeny, and volume Two, The Electric Messiah, you should read them first.

How About Heresy?
Jeffrey's a guy who's most certainly a heretic but likes to believe he's not. Like we all do. Though, being a villain, there are many do gooders that'd like to exchange a strong word— or rather fisticuffs with him. Doing the deeds of villains, he places his own strange lens of justice over it, all the while, being an absolute fool. How will Jeffrey fare against the might of the good? —————————— "You tryin' ta shill me heresy?" "Ye- I mean yesn't," That's absurd why would I shill heresy? I'm not a heretic godsdamnit! In a realm of heretics and apostles alike, what to do? Well, I'm not sure of that myself. Though I have a feeling joining a cult may not be the best action... "No way. Are we being clapped by the power of friendship?" "Indeed we are," Shite. NOTE: - Don't expect an overpowered main character, nor a weak character. Strength isn't a plot point. - This is mainly a comedy, so it ain't as dark as you think it'd be despite the numerous mentions of cultists, heretics and murder... - There isn't going to be any face slapping scenes.
