"Why the hell is it snowing in the middle of summer?" Asher asked as she stood beside Bella on the way towards the campsite. Asher told Edward she wanted to take the brunette to Edward at the campsite just to have a little time with the girl before Asher goes up against the newborns. "Is that really the question you have when there is an army of vampires after the both of us?" Bella asked with a laugh as they got closer to the campsite. "Yup." Asher answered simply.
Asher glanced at Bella before taking another jacket out of the bag Asher brought incase needed, "here so you domt completely freeze your ass off." Asher said handing her thick jacket to Bella who took it gratefully, "but what about you? You're not exactly immune to the cold weather either." Bella asked as they were now outside the tent, "trust me, I'll be okay. I gotta go meet of with Alice, love you Bells, let me know if I need to punch some sense in either of the boys." Asher said seeing Edward appear from the trees. Bella laughed pulling her friend into a tight hug, "be careful." Bella instructed worriedly, "I'm always careful."
"That's debatable." Edward said reaching the two girls, Asher rolled her eyes, "Thanks popsicle, anyway I'll see you two afterwards." Asher said hugging Edward aswell before walking away to where Alice had asked to meet.
After about an hour of walking through the cold and snow Asher finally spotted Alice, Addison, and Rosalie. "Took you long enough! I thought you got lost!" Alice said hugging Asher who just chuckled, "the campsite is about an hour away or so, plus it's cold and snowing. In the middle of the fucking summer might I add." Asher said, she loved the cold but not when the cold wasnt supposed to be there for another couple of months.
Rosalie laughed, "during the battle you're going to be with us and Jasper, once they arrive try to said close to one of us, so we know you're okay, Jeremy and the others are with Carlisle and Esme, while Emmett and Jasper are together." Rosalie explained the plan for tomorrow, "but for now, you and the other need to rest up, we have a tent for you so you can sleep." Addison told her sister as the three went towards the tent that was close to the area they met, which was nearby the clearing that the battle will be held.
"I love family camping trips." Asher said trying to ease the stressful tension for the upcoming battle, Addison and the other two vampires laughed along with Asher as the four entered the tent. "Speaking of family." Alice trailed off Asher looked at Rosalie who just shrugged then looked back at Alice. "Are you going to pull the last name card like Alicia did?" Alice just grinned, "no but now that you bring it up-" Asher cut the girl off, "Hale, I'm changing my last name to Hale, okay? Bella and I talked about it last night." Rosalie, Alice, and Addison smiled brightly, "fantastic! Asher Cameron Hale has a nice ring to it." Alice said.

"You just had to had the middle name." Asher laughed at the fact Alice added shared middle name she had with her father into the last name conversation. "But you will have to go by Cullen for the cover up story, might even have to go as far as saying your Edward's cousin." Rosalie said, Asher just nodded, "so would that make Bella a Hale?" Asher joked, Rosalie laughed and rolled her topaz eyes, they were a bit darker than usual as was both Addison and Alice's.
Alice grabbed the bag that was separating Alice and Addison, she pulled out multiple magazines and catalogs and laid them in the middle. Asher glanced at them and rolled her eyes, "Really Alice?" Asher asked looking at the wedding catalogs and magazines. "I love wedding planning, and it's never too early to start!" Alice exclaimed.
"You know, Alice, wedding planning and battle planning should really be kept separate." Asher deadpanned, her straight face didn't last long once the redhead beside her spoke up, "you do know you cant get out of this right?" Asher cracked a smile before laughing, "Alice is always right, I get it." Asher said raising her hands in surrender. "I'm glad you said that because I wanna help with the dress, makeup, and hair." Rosalie said surprising Asher.
"Fine but after we have options we need to get this battle plan thing together so we dont get ourselves killed."

Asher woke up alone in the tent, stretching she threw the blankets off of her body and stepped out of the tent and jumped at the sight of Seth, in his wolf form. "Shit, Seth you scared me."
"I thought you had super senses?" Seth asked teasingly through the link. "Not this early in the morning, only senses I have is to go back to sleep but we gotta get to Bella first." Seth nodded and kneeled down, "hop on I'm still a little faster than you." Asher rolled her eyes getting on Seth's back, "only when I'm tired." Asher said gripping onto Seth's fur as he took off to the campsite.
The cold wind nipped at Asher's face causing her to lower her head closer to Seth to keep a little warmer.
Once the two got to the campsite Asher hopped off of Seth as Bella came out of the tent, "Seth, Ash, hey." Bella and Asher hugged, "sleep well?" Asher asked, Bella just shrugged, "as good as you can outside in the snow." The two laughed as Edward approached them.
"Where's Jacob? Did he already?" Bella asked, "no, not yet he's checking to see if the woods are clear before he goes." Edward explains and nods at Asher as a hello, "you might wanna go too Seth, cover more ground" Asher said, Seth's wolf form nodded as he ran off. "I still find it weird that you can talk to them." Bella said with a laugh, "well technically speaking we can all talk to them, Edward and I just so happen to be the only ones that can hear their responses." Asher pointed out, Edward let out a low chuckle, "okay you got me there." Bella said before turning to Edward, guilt on her face.

"I'm really sorry about last night. I couldn't have been easy on you." Bella said, Asher looked at the engaged couple with confusion, "everytime I witness a conversation with you two I'm always confused." Asher said no expecting an answer.
"It definitely won't make my list of top ten favorite evenings."
"You have a list?" Bella asked, "you're surprised?" Asher added as she was awkwardly third wheeling off to the side, :All ten I spent with you. Number one is when you said you'd marry me. Mrs. Cullen." Edward said, Asher smiled "please say that sometime turning the wedding."
"This is the twenty-first century, I always wanna hyphenate my name." Bella said, Asher laughed, "good luck trying to get that past Alice, I didnt even mention it and she already didnt like the idea, I wasnt planning on it, I like the sound of Asher Hale but that's not the point I'm trying to get at." Asher rambled, "what exactly is the point?" Edward asked the redhead amusingly, Asher stared at her future brother-in-law for a few seconds before responding, "uh, I'll get back to you on that."
"You're marrying him?" Jacob said coming up the mountain, "I knew Asher was marrying a bloodsucker but I didnt know you were too." Jacon added, anger building up in Asher and the only one that noticed was Edward as Bella spun around to find Jacob has reappeared. His face is devastated, fighting tears of rage, betrayal.
"Jake... You knew he was listening?" Bella asked hurt and surprised, Edward gave Asher a reassuring nod before turning to his fiancee and Jacob, "He deserves to know." That being said confirmed Jacob that it was true. He turns, strides toward the woods. Bella starts to run after him.
"Jake, stop." Bella says leaving Edward's side and going after Jacob, "Bella, let him..." Edward trailed off, Asher walked over the the vampire grabbing his arm to stop him from stopping Bella as Bella spoke "Don't." She said both Asher and Edward sees her desperation. Edward sinks, resignedly, and watches Bella race to Jacob. "Just let her talk to him." Asher said to the vampire, he only nodded and stayed beside the hybrid.
"Jake, stop. Jake, please." Asher listened in on the conversation just in case she needed to intervene. "I'm done. I'm so done." Jacob said, Asher sighed from beside Edward, "What can I do?" Bella pleaded, "I was here for this whole thing but I still feel like I missed something, "He's in love with her." Edward tired, anger in his time just by the thought of it, "no everyone already knows that."
"You can't do anything. I can. By going out there and killing something." Jacob said angrily. "No. You're not thinking clearly, don't do that." Bella said worriedly, Asher signed, if Bella kept trying to convince people not to fight, they wont have anyone to fight the newborns, even though she understood her best friend's worry, she needed her to realize it was either this or they both die.
"Maybe I'll get myself killed and make it simple for you." Jacob said challenging the Swan girl.
"No. Just, Jake... Stay."
"Why? Give me one good reason." Jacob asked.
"Because I don't wanna lose you." Bella tried "It's not good enough." Jacob retorted, "I mean it wasnt a terrible reason." Asher commented earning a glance from Edward "Because you're too important." Bella tried again, "Still not good enough."
"Jacob. Kiss me." Bella said making Asher freeze not even daring to look at Edward, "i'm asking you to kiss me." Asher finally looked over at Edward, "I love you and all Edward and this might not make anything better but what kind of weird love triangle are you in?" Edward just looked at the girl, "you're like a sister to me Asher and I love you too but that didn't make anything better." Edward deadpanned, "Fair enough, fair enough." Asher said suddenly finding the snow on the ground more interesting.
"Well I need to go, they need me on the battlefield, stay safe." Asher told the vampire before running off into the forest where she was the meet with Rosalie, Alice, and Addison to join in on the fight.

Sometimes, even the most outright affront to liberty seems to be justified under certain contexts. Or maybe I should stop reading about Stalin, I think it's affecting me.
