《Not Anyone | Vernon Chwe》Chapter 34

The day of her friend's wedding has come after a week from the day they got there in Spain, the same day she and Vernon met again.

When she thought it was the happiest she could get by having Leon always by her side, she guessed she thought wrong. She was contented with having her son alone and him always managing to brighten her, but getting to be with Vernon again, it made her feel the fullest.

It was just nice having to share things in life with someone.

Quite frankly, from the past few days until the moment she was at, all she could feel was bliss and the never-ending realization that her life had finally gotten to what it seemed was the greatest thing.

Standing from the side of the wedding altar, Liv gave a smile to Vernon who was carrying Leon on his arms whilst he stood with the guests, witnessing the bride and the groom saying their vows.

As much as Vernon couldn't still believe that his friend, Sean was already married, he as well was still astounded by the fact that his friend was all along engaged to Liv's friend.

Crazy coincidence, fate or anything, when Vernon and Liv ended everything that they had and lost in touch, the things and people around them somehow brought them together again.

If Liv's friend didn't get to marry her fiancé who's name always tickle some part of her memory and it happened to be that friend Vernon was always talking about, she wasn't sure how else would they be able to meet again.

But the thing was, it somehow just happens.

As soon as the couple was pronounced husband and wife, the place was filled with genuine claps and cheers.

"You want me to carry Leon?", Liv asked Vernon, gazing up at him as she caressed Leon's back. "You've been holding him for almost two hours now."

Vernon shook his head with a reassuring smile. "It's alright. I don't feel exhausted at all."

The wedding ceremony had just finished and they were walking their way outside the venue. The entire time, Vernon was the one carrying and watching Leon close since almost the whole ceremony, Liv was helping her friend manage the event, and for some reason, Vernon didn't even want to let her hold Leon.

She glanced at Vernon, her eyes moving up and down with a doubting look.

"What?", He questioned, snickering.

"I just can't bring myself to believe you. Well, unless you really are not. . are you really not tired?", Her eyebrows met in hesitation, awaiting for his answer.

Vernon moved closer to her, making their shoulders brush against each other everytime they took a step. "I'm just making it up for all the times you had looked after Leon all alone.", Her heart, almost instantly, warmed up to what he said. "So every time I tell you that I'm not tired or exhausted, you have to believe me, because it's one of the most truest thing that I could ever say."

Liv looked at him in so much admiration. "Are you aware of how cool you sounded just now?", She would've gone to the extent of putting her two thumbs up if it weren't for him snorting out a laugh.

"You're going to make me arrogant by how often you compliment me.", He stated, but she knew he wasn't the type of person who would change for the worst.

"Too bad for you, I'm not gonna stop.", She could describe him in the bestest way possible every second if she could. There were just too many to say about him, and it actually quite sucked that he was just too good.

"Daddy?", Leon asked, and it immediately caught both of their attention, them halting from walking and their eyes diverting to their son.

Liv couldn't contain her chuckle by whom Leon chose to call. He was getting way too comfortable with always calling for Vernon, and in him in general that she couldn't even recall the last time he called for her.

"Yes, baby?", Vernon moved his hand up to Leon's head for additional support as Leon started to make little moves.

"Me come down."

"Oh, you want to walk?", He raised his brows to Leon and Leon made slow and little nods.

"Alright.", He uttered, then gradually brought Leon down to make him stand on his feet. "There you go."

Leon glanced up to Vernon's left hand and held it and then did the same to Liv's right hand. The two of them gave genuine smiles as they gazed down to Leon from his small yet unfeigned gesture.

They continued their journey to their car like that, walking side by side with a small boy with two tiny little foot in between them.

"Would anything be good for dinner?", Liv asked as soon as she closed the door of the fridge after looking at the contents of it, trying to come up with a dish to make.

"Sure.", Vernon responded, taking a step from the kitchen counter where he formerly was leaning at, his eyes never leaving her eversince earlier when she kept searching around the kitchen.

Liv walked towards Vernon in a partly conscious way, just to pass by him to momentarily leave the kitchen, yet Vernon took the chance to get her back make contact with the kitchen counter by blocking her way and pacing closer to her, placing his hand in between her to the counter, pinning her against it.

Her eyes shaked by how she couldn't look at him straight. "W—Why?", She questioned under her breath.

"Just. .", Without a heads up, or just perhaps a little explanation, Vernon pressed his lips on hers, already taking her fully with just the first second into the kiss. And there probably goes the explanation she had needed.

Even though they have done it for so many times, her heart would still do flips. It was the same, nothing will be different as long as it's with him, but for some reason, every single time they do, she could feel much more, as if when they kiss on a new day, she would discover new profound feelings.

Vernon leaned back, and Liv instantly turned her face to the distant bed to blurredly see Leon seated on the bed playing with his toys. She was relieved with a few things: one, Leon couldn't seem to see them, two, he didn't seem to care and three, he fortunately didn't get see his parents literally making out at the kitchen.

Well, that's what she partially thought, she thought that, that was it and nothing more will come.

As soon as she diverted her attention back to Vernon, he brought his hands up to her jaw and pressed a soft kiss on her right cheek, then to her other cheek, then to her forehead and then down to the tip of her nose.

She had the chance to take a breath before she closed her eyes when his lips went down to hers once again.

And like how her feelings got more intense, the kiss did too. She could feel his hands being everywhere around her body, and when it came down to her thighs, she gasped with a bit of a noise when he held her up and made her sit on the kitchen counter.

He made their lips part in a one inch distance. "Let's not get too loud.", He stated, his lips brushing against hers with every move it does.

"Then you should give me a heads up before placing me somewhere.", she whispered, making sure 'not to get too loud'.

A smirk grew on his face, and without saying anything, he kissed her again, fully, swift and with so much passion, you could say that there wasn't really any room for air.

A moan that came from her throat inevitably escaped when he slid his hand inside her skirt and stroked her thigh. He separated their lips again similar to the close range that he did earlier, with a sly grin showing how much of a tease he was. "Shhh. ."

Her eyebrows furrowed at him. "Then keep your hands to yourself.", She muttered, but it only made him slowly shook his head, further disagreeing to her when he kneaded her up to her hip.

His lips earnestly crashed into hers for the fourth time. Her hand traveled its way to his neck, resting it there whilst their lips did all the brisk work.

It was beginning to lead into something more, and as soon he felt a greater more urge to guide them into their delirium, Leon's voice ringed inside their head.

"Daddy?", The voice they heard from a distance, and they knew if they wouldn't halt from whatever they were doing, all will lead to explanation they couldn't possibly tell to a child, let alone their child.

Vernon deliberately but regretfully split the kiss by leaning back, giving Liv a you-know-what-we-have-to-do smile. "Duty calls.", He uttered, bringing his hand out from her skirt and placed both of his hands on the counter beside her legs.

"I'm guessing you two already have favorites.", She jokingly said, which he responded with a chuckle.

He then walked a couple of steps back, looked at her with a shy yet genuine smile for the last time, before making his way to the bed, and Liv who was left seated on the kitchen counter, gazed at his back while having about the same smile he gave to her just now.
