"Do you see that? That's your baby."

I bit on my lip, trying not to burst out in tears. It's just a tiny embryo, yet I still feel like cradling it in my arms and kissing every inch of my small bundle. It's that adorable for me. Fingers around my palm tightened and I looked down at Rivaah, she smiled at me.

"We created it.", I said, my words a quivering mess. She nodded with a chuckle.

Even the doctor looked at me comically. Spare me. It's my first time experiencing something so amazing. The miracle that's growing in her womb, it's our. We made it together.

"It has a heartbeat.", The gynaec said and I gasped.

"Really? Can I hear it?", I was excited as well as overwhelmed. God! I'll be able to hear it's heartbeat! Isn't it amazing?!

"You can, but I suggest we do this in next prenatal visit. During seventh week the heartbeat becomes easy to assess.", She replied and I nodded half-heartedly. I wanted to listen it now.

Rivaah got down from berth like bed after cleaning the gel off her body. We made our way towards her desk and sat down on the chair stationed there. She soon joined us.

"Now I don't think I should repeat the do's and don'ts because you already have been through this. Or should I?", She asked looking at Rivaah.

"No it's fine."

"Great. Let me remind you, following this week there will be rapid growth in the baby and major changes in your body. You know the usual hormonal changes. Swelling, tenderness, nausea, and frequent urge to urinate. Also, the cravings and all that. Your diet should include food that provide folic acid. Like leafy vegetables. Try to ignore alcohol, drugs and caffeine. Don't take any medications without my knowledge. Less junk food. Don't eat undercooked meat. Listen to music. Do things that makes you happy. Now you've him unlike the first time-", she said pointing at me and I felt a jab at my heart. My beautiful wife did everything on her own during her first time. I should have been there with her. "So share with him everything that you've in your mind. Your insecurities, fears, all that needs to be out. Don't keep anything inside, it affects your mental health as well as baby's growth. I hope I'm clear?", She asked glancing at both of us. We nodded.

Later she prescribed us some medications that Rivaah needs to take after today. Thanking her once again, we took our leave.

"You looked on the verge of crying!", She teased me with a nudge on my arm.

I chuckled. "Honestly, I was.", I said and she shook her head with a smile on her face.

We made it to our car but I didn't want to leave just yet. So I placed the medicine bag in car and locked it again. She peeked at me over the roof as she failed to open the door. I blinked at her before jogging past bonnet to get closer. Holding her hand, I nodded for her to follow me. She did so with a huff. I could see she was hungry with the way she was eyeing the bistros located outside hospital premises. She gets hungry often more now.

We walked along side and I directed her towards the hospital garden. I sat down on a bench situated under the bask of large tree, away from the chaos of medical staff and patient and tugged at her fingers to follow my queue. She settled beside me.

Lacing our fingers together, I smiled at her and she chuckled.

"You're so silly sometimes.", She commented and I blushed.

"I'm really sorry, Dove.", I said sincerely. The guilt inside me increased and I had to swallow the emerging heaviness down.

"Sorry? For what?", She tilted her head to side and I smiled at her innocent amber eyes looking at me in confusion.

"Sorry for everything that I've made you and Reyansh go through. I know I can't undo it and neither I can realize the depth of my mistakes. Because there are no memories. Although, I know I was nothing less than a monster. I'm trying to prove that I'm a good father and I can be a good life partner if you give me one chance. Please Rivaah. Let me make everything right. Just give me one chance. Please.", I begged. I hope she doesn't shove me off like every time. I hope she smiles and says yes.

"Yes.", She smiled.

"Rivaah please. Just one cha- Wait what!?"

"One chance. Just this last. Don't break me like you do everytime.", She said softly. Her voice was shaky although she tried to appear strong.

My free hand went to cup her cheek and I kissed her forehead. She closed her eyes as her hand covered mine on her cheek. Unable to hold myself, I showered her face with light kisses all over.

She giggled.

"Okay stop. There are people around.", She said in whisper, pressing her warm and soft hand on my chest. I hummed before touching our foreheads together.

"I hope I don't regret, Kabir. That's my only fear.", She said and I felt a strange tightening in my chest. I've brought this flood of insecurities in her. I'm the reason that the trust between us is so weak and easily breakable. But I'm hell bent on changing this.

"I promise you, darling. Everything will be fine now.", I said pressing a kiss on her head and pulling apart.

"I'm hungry.", Her lips pursued together. Her stomach growled with a vote.

"I can hear that.", I smiled. "How about something that includes broccoli or spinach?", I suggested as we stood up. Her face screwed in disgust before she shook her head.

"Eww no! How about some pepperoni pizza?", She gulped as she licked her lips hungrily. I could practically see her drooling at the thought having that junk food.

"Okay!", She smiled huge at my answer. "Spinach soup it is!", I declared grabbing her wrist and heading towards the parking lot.

"Kabir, no!"

"Along with some bread and salad.", I smiled at her and she scoffed at my face before looking down at the ground. "Oh Dove, I can feel your love in waves!", I commented sarcastically.

"I hope you drown and die!", She bit back at me.

I laughed before holding her hand tight.

Opening the door for her, I bowed my head chivalrously. "Ugh! Don't behave so gentleman-like. I wanna stay angry at you!", She complained and I looked up at her before kissing her cheek. She blinked, not expecting the sudden gesture. "Stop!", She pulled her lips inside, trying to hide the beautiful smile that always melts my heart. I kissed her again. "Oh god!", She groaned before getting inside car. I laughed loudly and closed the door before strolling back to driver's side.

Pulling the car out of parking lot, I turned the car and drove to the bistro she was eyeing sometime ago. "How about something french?", I asked raising my brows and she nodded eagerly.

After she was completely full, we headed home.

"Do you play favourites, Kabir?"

"Hmm? What do you mean?", I asked after pressing the horn for the stubborn driver to move aside. He was driving at snail's speed and has occupied the middle of the road. What a retard!

"I mean, do you play favourites in office?"

"Of course not! You'll be paid off for your hard work and talent. Nothing else.", I answered and heaved a relieving sigh after over taking that idiot.

"Good. Because I want to defeat that horsehead on my own capabilities!", She said, determination lacing her tone.

"Someone troubles you?", I asked her cautiously.

"No. He's just competitive. And thinks he'll always win. I want to prove him wrong. The next project of soft drink- I want to lead it along with my team.", She said, her head high in pride and eyes narrowed, a subtle smirk on her lips. I wanted to fuck her hard. She looked that hot.

"I hope you do.", I said averting my eyes from her. "What's his name by the way?", How dare he challenges my wife? I'll put him in his place.

"You said you don't play favourites!", She exclaimed.

Oh! Did I?

"I was just asking.", I shrugged.

"No favorites, Kabir!", She whined.

"Damn! Okay, babe! No favorites. I'll be honest and sincere.", I said and she calmed down, resting her head against the seat.

We reached home in afternoon as the hospital is situated in a small locality, away from metropolitan area. When we drove inside the front yard, I saw my son and Murphy waiting for us in the porch.

"Mommy! Daddy!", Reyansh got up excitedly. The feeling of seeing your son getting happy and all excited on your arrival is just indescribable.

Turning the engine off, I grabbed the medication bag from backseat and stepped down. Coming to her side, I opened door for her and she smiled at me before stepping out.

Reyansh was latched to her legs as soon as she took a step forward. "What do you brought me?", He asked peering up at her and she pouted. Before she could lower his spirits down, I waved a chocolate bar in front of his eyes and he let out a squeal. Grabbing it he ran off inside and Murphy followed him.

"When did you buy it?"

"From the medical store when I was buying your medicines.", I shrugged after locking the car and nodding at her to head inside.

"Good, Daddy!", She patted my chest before turning on her heels and walking inside.

Fuck!

I never knew I was in Daddy shit until she called me Daddy. The way my junior twitched, I know I've to take a cold shower. Gulping down the urge to grab her small waist and- okay I should stop with my dirty thoughts. They are certainly not helping my current condition.

"How was it?", I heard Taila ask.

"It was amazing. Kabir looked on the verge of-"

"Okay enough. Stop talking about me behind my back.", I said grabbing her wrist and pulling her to my side. She chuckled before tucking herself under my chin. I held her close to me as I smiled at Taila. "It was an amazing experience!", I sighed.

"Hmm. The smiles on your faces says all.", She grinned.

We then headed to my room, which I seriously want to convert into our. But one step at a time. I can't just ask her to share space with me when she's being living alone since last five years.

I placed the medicines on nightstand and went to take a shower.

Fifteen minutes later when I was done, I slipped into some lose black sweats and black wife beater. I came out while drying my hair with the small towel and saw Reyansh on the bed, enjoying his chocolates while Murphy had his face dropped on his front paws. This is the first time he's in my room.

I frowned as Rivaah was curiously examining herself in the full length mirror.

"What are you doing?"

"I said she's getting fat. Since then she's looking at herself in mirror.", Reyansh mumbled and I attempted to hide my snicker at her scowl when he said that.

"Am I getting fat, Kabir?"

"Of course not, Rivaah. Kids tend to be brutally honest. But I know it's not a safe tool to use, at least not in front of your wife.", I said seriously.

"Very funny! But seriously, am I getting fat?"

"This is getting boring!", Reyansh groaned before he jumped off bed. "C'mon Murphy. Let's play out.", He ushered the dog and he responded quickly, getting off and following Reyansh out.

"He's such a heartless kid!", Rivaah said making a tch sound.

"He's just a kid.", I said dropping the towel on couch and strolling close to her.

"I think I'm really getting fat, Kabir. I mean, it's not my first time. But I don't want to get fat in front of you.", She mumbled lowly to herself. I kissed her temple at her adorableness.

"You're not getting fat-"

"I am! Look at my breasts! Don't you think they've grown big?", She asked as she cupped her breasts. I gulped.

"Let me check.", I said as I raised my both hands to feel them. She slapped my hands away. "Ouch!"

"Pervert!"

"I was just checking!", I said feigning innocence.

"I know you, Kabir. And don't touch them. They're sensitive right now.", She said as she looked back at herself in mirror.

"We can test the sensitivity.", I said wiggling my brows.

"You're such a pervert!", She laughed before walking out of my room.

It was dinner time now. And I was helping the ladies of house to finish the dinner on time.

"Look. It looks beautiful!", I said as I flaunted my dish proudly.

"You just garnished it with some coriander. Nothing extreme.", Rivaah said rolling her eyes.

"But it makes the dish look more appealing!", I said in my defense, presenting it before her..

"Whatever!", She mocked.

"You're just jealous of my success. Nothing else.", Taila snickered at our bickering.

"Oh please-", The doorbell rang cutting her blabber short. "I'll see it.", She said and walked out.

I noticed some coriander leaves sticking on the edge of bowl and leaned down to fix it. My phone rang and I clicked my tongue against the roof of my mouth in dismay. Fishing out my phone, my displeasure washed away seeing Mom flashing on the screen.

"Mom! How are you?", I asked soon after answering.

"My kid sounds happy?", She asked and I imagined her smiling.

"Because I'm.", I chuckled.

I frowned at the chaos happening outside and walked out of kitchen.

"It's such a sweet surprise, Jiya! Please come inside!", Rivaah said to someone and I crossed the dining room to see who it is she's so happily talking to.

I frowned at the sight of a woman in the middle of our living room, a baby cradled in her arms.

Later, my eyes landed on the man that stood behind her. And I felt a sudden pull in my head. As if someone was crushing the veins in my head. Soon echo like voices began.

"I did a favour to that unborn child of yours! I protected him from having a father like you."

"After all, the same blood runs in your veins as well. The innocent life was saved from having a similar father that you had in your childhood."

"You never deserved her, you jerk!"

"No. You don't deserve my explaination."

"Goodbye, Kabir. I hope I never cross paths with you again."

Loud voices screamed in my head as if ready to burst through the walls of my brain. A constant ringing sound accompanied it and I felt everything turning blur around me. Clutching my head, I felt like tearing it apart.

"Kabir- Kabir!"
