《The Healer | ✔》34. Stop, You Silly Heart!

If she looked like an innocent dove in white, she looks absolutely ravishing in black. A drug that will manipulate you to get addicted. A sin draped in beautiful silk sheets, so appealing to eyes, calling for you to uncover and just commit it. His fingers craved to trace the ups and downs of her body. He was desperate to taste the highs and lows of her curves, explore every hidden jewel, touch and conquer her in the black of night.
For his body, she was always a secret. Every time he tried to uncover her, there was a new layer hiding the real her. She was always a maze, that he loves to get lost in. A dessert he's always desperate to steal before dinner like a naughty kid.
He was hot and bothered. Throat dry and fingers twitching to feel her softness.
Never had he seen her in a Saree and damn if she didn't take his breath away with just a glance. His eyes hungrily took her in, as if eyeing their most delicious prey. No woman in these last five years made his mouth water like she does.
He clenched his jaw. The blood rushing to south made him aware that he should stop ogling at her before everyone else sees the live telecast of his thoughts.
"Good evening, Vanya.", He said, tearing his gaze away from her.
"Oh you remember me!", She sounded surprised.
"Of course I do.", He chuckled. "Miss. Verma?", She cleared her throat before looking up.
"Evening, Mr. Raichand.", She said politely, her eyes were automatically drawn to the slender hand that was still on his bicep. His brows slightly furrowed when he found her glaring at something. As he followed her line of vision, he noticed a hand on his bicep which he had no idea about. He should stop day dreaming about the things he would do to her on bed so he'll know what's happening around him. He was about to brush the hand away, but the smirk of playfulness widened when he witnessed her glaring daggers at the contact that actually means nothing to him.
But, he can take advantage of situation, can't he? So he ignored the touch on his bicep and indulged himself in different conversations made around him.
Rivaah blinked in disbelief when the lady's hand around his bicep tightened as she grew confident that the man beside her is liking it. Well, she was in delusion.
Kabir ignored the slight tightening of grip.
The sudden cascade of pregnancy hormones in body didn't help her. She was fuming. And she didn't know why. Or may be she did, she just didn't want to accept it.
"I need a glass of water.", She muttered to Vanya and without waiting for any reply, headed in the direction of bar side.
Kabir's eyes took a moment to examine her, he could see the rushness in her steps. The way her hair swayed, he knew her body was showing the anger she felt within. When he was sure he did enough, he gently brushed away the hand on his arm. The lady looked taken aback, before she stepped away with a small sorry. As if she wasn't aware of her actions.
"A glass of chilled water please!", She said to the bar tender who acknowledged her order immediately and slid a glass to her. She grabbed it off the marble floor, took a sniff to check if it is safe before drinking it down.
She discreetly tried to steal a glance and scoffed at the flock of girls that flaunted around him, like he was new bloomed flower in the mid of hungry bees.

Calm down.
Why am I getting affected?
There's nothing to worry about?
She was angry. Over him. Over her. And over her traitorous emotions. Is she sexually frustrated!? Does it happens in pregnancy? God! Why is she thinking like first time pregnant woman!? Obviously she had Reyansh before. And she never felt like this that time. She was never this eager to.... No! She denied to admit it. She just need some time away from him.
It's just hormones! She blamed.
When he was in relationship with Tiara, she didn't got jealous.
When he was talking with that beautiful brunette in park she didn't got jealous.
And this, this is same. Girls are always around him. It doesn't matter.
She took a deep breath and smiled.
"All done. I'm not jealous.", She chuckled. "What bullshit!"
"May I get a glass of orange juice please?", She asked smiling sweetly.
"Sure, ma'am.", The bartender smiled.
She waited for her drink and failed to notice the lights dimming and soft music starting in the background. "Here's your juice.", The young guy smiled as he handed her the glass.
"Thanks!", She chirped.
As soon as she turned, her smiled dropped and lips pursued in a small pout. She gulped the clot that formed in her throat after seeing him sharing the dance floor with someone. She's not the same who had her hand on him.
Rivaah chuckled humorlessly. Wow! He changes girls like Reyansh changes his moods.
"Stop!", She ordered to the passing by waiter and he halted right there.
"Yes, ma'am?"
"What do you have?", She asked trying to eye the tray that he had raised in his palm. He brought it down for her to look. "Muffins?", She mumbled to herself. "Give it to me.", His eyes widened in surprise as she took the whole tray from him. "You can go.", She muttered as she turned around and placed muffins filled tray on the bar counter.
After shooting a stink eye to the couple dancing on floor, she grabbed a chocolate muffin before biting on it. She gobbled it down in just two bites. Similarly, she went rampage on the set of six muffins and devoured them within just ten minutes.
"Are you okay? What are you doing?", Vanya came running to her.
"Nothing!", Rivaah said wiping her lips with the back of her palm.
"Don't! Your hands are already messy.", Vanya said and pulled out some tissues from her clutch before cleaning Rivaah's smudged mouth. "Damn the chocolate is tough! Go and wash your mouth.", She instructed and Rivaah nodded.
"Where's the washroom?"
"Just go straight from my desk area and at the end of the hallway you'll see the washroom.", Vanya said.
"Okay, I'll be back.", Rivaah mumbled before walking out of the hall.
She grew aggravated when some strands sticked to her lips and chin because of the chocolate. Her fingers were covered in chocolate and she can't even use them to get rid of annoying locks.
When she reached reception area, she looked around and found glowering lights at the end of the hallway that started right from beside the reception desk. Sighing out in relief, she carried her steps there.
However, with one powerful flick she was pulled in a corner and then to an anonymous room.
Before she could scream, a rough hand covered her mouth. She relaxed but glared when she found the familiar pair of onyx eyes staring at her.
"My my, look at you.", He whispered with a smirk.

"Emuf!", Her voice sounded muffled.
"What?"
Rolling her eyes she herself shoved his hand away. "Oh!", He grinned embarrassed.
"Are you out of your mind! Why would you-"
"Shh! You talk so much!", He said shaking his head.
"My mouth! I'll talk whatever I want, however long I want! Who are you tell me!?", She reprimanded.
"Where were you going?", He asked ignoring her silly ramble.
"To washroom. I need to wash my hands. And my mouth. I ate muffins.", She said distracted as she showed him her hands. He smiled at how adorable and childlike she sounded.
"I can help you."
"How?", She asked looking up before memories of him dancing with some random lady flashed before her eyes and her teeth gritted. Her innocent amber eyes suddenly flamed like wildfire and she scoffed. "I don't need your help. I can wash my hands on my own thank you very much!", She said, her tone ensuring the sarcasm in her words.
"I know you can. But I want to help.", He said grabbing her wrist.
"Uh?", Her eyes widened to the size of tennis ball as he raised her hand and directed it to his lips. "No-", she gasped when he took her forefinger in his mouth and sucked on it. She stared horrified, her body betraying her emotions and enjoying the erotic action of small pleasure.
He sucked on her every finger, licking off the chocolate and sometimes biting the tip of her fingers. "Now another one?", He smirked hoisting her other hand up. She just stared blankly as his sinful tongue lapped on her fingers, sucking and caressing gently.
Rivaah gaped like a hawk. She couldn't conjure up the strength to even lift her finger, neither she wanted to. They still tingled because of the hotness they were enveloped in few moments ago.
"There, all cleaned.", He shrugged dropping her hand. Her fingers twitched as they yearned for the same feeling again. She watched as his tongue darted out, licking the plump pair of lips. Her heart was ready to jump out and run for miles. It was that restless and excited.
"Should I help you with your lips?", He teased as she stood frozen.
She jolted back to reality and looked around, trying to avoid his dark gaze.
"Hey!", He came in the line of her vision, she looked blankly at him. A smirk still intact on his gorgeous pink lips as he raised one brow at her as if asking her what's wrong.
What's wrong? That is the question she can't find answer to. What's wrong with her heart, her body, her emotions, why are they tumbling down in the mass of mess whenever he's around. Isn't he the same person who ruined her life? Isn't he the same person who married her for revenge? Isn't he the same person who blamed her of sleeping with someone?
No.
A voice inside her head said.
And she wanted to believe the voice. She wanted to believe in the strength with which it screamed inside her head. She wanted to believe him again.
She wanted to.... Fall for him again...
Her eyes watered quickly at the absurd thought. She tried to blink back her tears. She's overwhelmed. There's no other reason for such absurd and idiotic thoughts for to invade her mind.
"No. I-I'll do that by myself.", She stuttered.
He failed to notice her teary gaze as she looked down and stared at ground.
"Okay, then... I'll see you after the party!", He said in his soothing husky voice. She looked up when she was sure that tears no more blocked her vision and saw him charismatically smiling at her. "See you!", He winked before stepping back and walking out past her. Her heart skipped a beat.
She inhaled few breaths before stepping out as well. She walked to the washroom and looked at the reception side once more to see if he's still there. Shaking her head, she opened the door and entered in.
"Where were you?", Vanya asked.
"Oh! You scared me!", Rivaah exclaimed placing her hand on her chest, trying to calm her already erratic heart.
"I was tired of finding you. I thought you lost your way.", She said as she reapplied her lipstick.
"I was kind of lost.", Rivaah shrugged and opened the tap before gathering some water in the cup of her hands and washing her mouth.
They headed back to the hall and this time Rivaah stayed fifteen feet away from him. Though she couldn't get rid of his intense stare that followed her almost everywhere. If she even glanced at him, she would find his eyes already on her.
She was now alone at one corner, as Vanya went to grab a drink for herself.
"Why so alone?", A manly voice grabbed her attention and she looked up at the pair of dusky eyes staring down at her. She frowned.
The man was taller than her, his brown curls messy but in a good way. His skin porcelain and devoid of any flaw. Few freckles scattered on the bridge of his sharp nose but they just made him more attractive.
"I'm sorry, do I know you?", She asked.
"You should.", He smirked.
"And why is that?", She asked raising her brow.
"C'mon, one should know about their competitor.", He shrugged as his broad shoulders slumped and he stood more relaxed.
"Rishabh Mehrotra?", She guessed quickly. He was handsome in the first sight, now all drown the drain.
"Smart. It doesn't suit for a beautiful woman like you to stand here all alone."
"Oh believe me I'm very comfortable.", She dismissed his fake tone of concern.
"But I'm not. A dance?", He asked forwarding his palm.
"No thanks.", She said and moved away from him, trying to find Vanya around.
When she spotted Vanya talking with a beautiful girl, Rivaah sighed in relief and headed towards her. For the rest of the evening, she had to avoid two pair of eyes.
The one out of two was fuming in rage.
"Who was that guy?", Kabir asked as they sat down inside their car. The parking lot was completely empty, left for few employees but they stood too far away to notice a mere employee sitting inside a car along with the boss.
"Who?"
"The one with brown curly hair!", Kabir spat out as he ignited the engine.
"I thought you told me you've no problem of me dating again?", She raised her both brows.
"What!? You're dating him!? How!? What the fuck-"
"I'm not dating him! I'm just helping you remember your words!", She gritted out.
"Talks the one who was all fired up in jealousy just because I danced with some girl!", He chuckled humorlessly.
"I was not jealous!", She said staring out of the window.
"Whatever helps you sleep at night!", He muttered before turning around the corner and following Karthik's car.
"And don't ever do what you did today."
"Oh please, you were all ready to moan!", He scowled.
"I was not! I was shocked and you took advantage of that!"
"Really? That means if I had taken you right there you would have still said that I took advantage of you!? Because you looked all ready to get fucked! Whatever happened, happened with mutual consent! I didn't force you!", He barked and she flinched.
"You'll never change!", She sniffled.
"What!?", He looked at her in disbelief.
"I don't know him. He came to me and asked for dance. I said no and left. That's it.", She gave the explanation that she thought he needed.
Kabir internally scoffed. He had forgotten about it. He was angry because she blamed him for the intimate moment that happened between then. He wanted to remember it as a sweet memory, not an accusation of taking advantage.
After reaching Karthik's house, they silently waited for Taila to come out with Reyansh and Murphy. Their boy was already fast asleep and Murphy looked tired.
Taila sensed the strain in air and silently sighed.
The drive to home was void of any words. Upon reaching home, Kabir took Reyansh from Taila and headed upstairs.
"May I talk to you, Rivaah?", Taila asked stopping Rivaah.
"Yes?"
"Kabir sir, he's really nice. I know you might think that I don't know him enough. But believe me, I've lived my life working for different families and never in my fifty five years of experience I saw a man who is so dedicated to his family. He cares a lot about you, darling. And he's desperate to receive some love. I've seen him staring at you so many times with longing. I don't know what it is that has separated you beautiful souls to two different ends, but if you can, try to erase this distance.", She caressed Rivaah's cheek before leaving to her room.
With thoughts swirling inside her head, Rivaah headed upstairs to her room.
The next day Kabir woke up early. He wanted to resume his workout routine. He had already skipped gym for too many days. After brushing his teeth, he changed himself in his usual gymming cloths and strolled down. Before coming here he had instructed Karthik to adjust his gym inside the house itself because he hates going out.
Kabir was impressed seeing the room converted into his personal gym. It was not as big as he has back in Mumbai, but this will work well.
It was half hour later when he was disturbed by his son. The sleepy bundle of joy stumbled inside and insisted to join his father.
"Daddy I wanna dance!", Reyansh said while he was on Kabir's back as he continued to do push-ups.
"Get down then!", Kabir said and Reyansh hurriedly got down.
"Let's dance!", Reyansh clapped in joy as he waited for the song to play. Kabir connected his mobile with the speakers through Bluetooth and played the first song that popped up in playlist. "Yes! I like this one!", Reyansh said as he tugged on his father's gray sweats.
"Ooh la la re! Ooh la la re!", Reyansh tried to sing along. Kabir laughed as his son danced weirdly.
"Daddy c'mon!", He pulled his father with him in the center of the room.
Rivaah frowned at the sound of loud music as she stepped downstairs. She followed the music and ended up at the doorstep of some room that looked like gym.
Rivaah's breath hitched. Even though her son was dancing so adorably and any mother would hold the sight dearly, she couldn't tear her gaze away from the shirtless man who moved so gracefully across the floor.
Kabir's body grooved along with the music, his hips rolled deliciously and his charming laughter boomed around, colliding against the walls and reverberating through the empty room. He spun around, his waist moving along elegantly before he smoothly did some complex footwork.
Stop, you silly heart!
She chastised herself as her heart raced furiously.
On the other side, Reyansh tried to copy his father and failed miserably.
The music stopped and the little guy demanded to be picked up.
"C'mon!", Kabir grabbed him up and put him on his shoulders before turning around. His smiled fell at the sight of Rivaah.
"Mommy, did you see daddy dancing! He's a rockstar!", Reyansh bounced and Kabir had to hold him tight so he won't lose his balance.
"I didn't know you can dance so well.", She mumbled.
"And I thought you know me more than I know about myself.", He said before walking past her.
It was Sunday so neither member of the house was in hurry to get the things done before time.
"How about I bring something from outside for breakfast?", Kabir asked as he placed his son on bed.
"I want pastries! And- and- ginger bread!", Reyansh was ready with his order.
"Your order is coming right up, Sir!", Kabir said as he slipped in a white v-neck t-shirt and grabbed his car keys.
"I wanna come with you!", Reyansh pouted wounding up his arms around his father's neck.
"Uh huh! You're gonna get a bath and be all ready before I come!", Kabir pecked his pouty lips before removing his arms and heading out.
