It took some time to convince Tejas. He was not ready to let his little girl go away again. But he gave in eventually after Kabir promised him that he'd arrange the best security for her there.

"I still don't understand why you have to go and not this nalayak."

Tejas grumpily said while hugging Mayera. She was leaving for the airport.

"Dad, mujhe pata hai aap Mayeru ko mujhse jyada pyaar karte hai, but you don't have to rub it on my face always!" Kabir whined.

Nandita rolled her eyes at the antics of the men of her house. Kabir and Tejas' relationship had always been this way, Tejas teasing and hinting always that he loved Mayera more, and Kabir pretending to get angry.

Mayera then hugged her mother and kissed her cheek before getting in the car. Kabir got behind the wheel and zoomed the car out of the mansion.

While seeing his daughter go away, a lone tear slipped Tejas' eye.

"What will you do when she'll get married and leave forever?" Nandita leaned on her husband's shoulder.

"I don't think I'll ever be ready for that."

It was a windy evening when Mayera landed in Delhi. A city that held a lot of memories for her.

The last time she was here, she was here as Mayera Sinha, a normal girl who wanted to learn to live on her own. This time, she was here as Mayera Singh Oberoi, the CEO of KaMa.

The last time, she didn't know anything about love. This time, she was a girl who'd fallen and lost in love.

The last time, this city gave her pain so deep that she had to run away. And this time, she certainly hoped that history wouldn't repeat itself.

An hour later, she was roaming around in her new home, her penthouse that her father had bought for her. Almost all her stuff was settled in and she had nothing to do.

Her door buzzer went off.

Who might it be?

"Yes?" She spoke in the speaker.

"Ma'am, there is a parcel for you. Should I send the delivery guy up?" The watchman of her building asked.

"Sure." Mayera assumed it must be something Giraffe ordered for her.

The delivery guy came up and gave Mayera a box and a big bouquet of red and white roses.

Mayera was confused. Who would have sent her this?

She closed the door behind her and kept the stuff on the couch. Then she grabbed the card that was in the bouquet.

These flowers reminded me of you.

You're as pure and perfect as the white rose.

And you're as beautiful and as filled with love as the red rose.

Love,

Arjun

PS: Welcome back to my city, sweetheart!

She had to read the note twice to make sure that this was not a dream. Then she looked at the box.

It was filled with different types of chocolates, and another note.

I know that these chocolates will give you more happiness than any materialistic gifts.

Eat them and become sweeter than you already are, sweetcheeks!.

PS: Delhi felt empty without you!

Mayera's cheeks turned into the shade of deepest red. She'd have never, in her wildest dreams, would have imagined that the never-smiling Arjun Singhania would be writing words like sweetheart and sweetcheeks.

Her phone pinged with a text. It was him.

I hope you liked your welcome gifts. ;)

Why are you doing this? Wasn't I clear enough that I want nothing to do with you anymore?

I know what I did was wrong, but all I need is a chance!

Did you give me a chance to explain myself?

He didn't reply to her last text.

But the next day, when Mayera was in her office, interviewing candidates for the post of her personal assistant, a parcel came for her again.

This time it was a hockey stick. Another message popped in her phone.

I know I was an ass. That's why I sent you that hockey stick. Take it and beat the shit out of me. You can even break my favorite car with it. You can do whatever you want, just in exchange for a chance. Please.

Mayera couldn't control her laugh as she read his message. If he kept behaving this sweet, she was afraid she'd end up falling for him, again.

Arjun was dying to meet her, but he knew that she deserved some space. He needed to give her some time to let things settle down a bit. He understood that she must be a bit overwhelmed by all the changes in her life. He didn't want to burden her with his feelings too. But that didn't stop him from sending her thoughtful and cute gifts over the next few days.

Until he was informed that since the Oberois had agreed for the renewal of the contract, the new CEO, Mayera Oberoi would be coming to his office to sign the deal.

Guess he'd be meeting her pretty soon.
