After Tejas' speech, everyone congratulated the siblings and then headed towards the dinner buffet.

Dev Singhania almost laughed out loud looking at his son's face. Arjun looked like he'd seen a ghost.

"Dev, I am so glad you came. That too with the whole family." Tejas opened his arms to hug his old friend. "How are you, bhabhi?" He then welcomed Shalini.

"I am good. Many congratulations to the kids." She replied.

As most of the guests had gone for supper, so the hall was pretty empty. Nandita, along with Kabir and Mayera came too.

Both the ladies shared a warm hug, while the kids took their elders' blessings.

"By the way, thank you so much for taking Mayera under your wing." Tejas said to Dev.

Arjun looked shocked at his dad.

He knew!

Then Tejas turned to Arjun, "Son, you've taught her a lot. I've seen her improvements in the past months. Thank you to you too."

Tejas behaved normally as knew nothing that had gone wrong in Delhi, so he just figured Arjun must knew Mayera's real identity.

Not knowing how to react, Arjun just passed him a polite smile. Then he gazed at Mayera. She was already looking at him with an uncertain expression.

From the confused, lost emotions on his face, Mayera knew that he had just found out about her. She felt a small amount of guilt for keeping him in the dark, but the anger she had for him didn't let her feel bad for him. Moreover, it was the need of the hour. If she had told him her reality, he'd have never seen her as a normal employee.

Arjun was feeling so many emotions at once. Anger, hurt, fooled, cheated! And the fact that his family knew too and didn't tell him was making him more mad.

Now that he thought about it, he could join all the dots.

Her not having any documents submitted at the office; telling him that his father is self-employed; meeting that guy, who apparently was his brother, two days before the meeting; and why Raman couldn't find a single trace about her.

How could he be so stupid? He had seen Mayera wear some expensive brands once in a while, but he never paid much attention. She never used to get intimidated by five star restaurants that they used to go for luncheon meetings.

All the signs were there, he just never bothered to look close enough.

Everyone then started to head towards the garden where the dinner buffet was placed. Mayera was going with them too, but Arjun needed some answers.

He got a hold of his arm and yanked her towards him. Thankfully everyone else didn't notice and kept walking away.

"What the hell! Leave me." Mayera tried jerking his hand away.

"You can't walk away everytime."

This stopped Mayera's struggle to get out of his hold. She looked into his eyes. "I wouldn't have walked away the last time, only if you'd have stopped me."

Pulling her closer, he said, "I'd have stopped you, only if you'd have told me the truth."

Anger rose in her. "Of course if I'd have told you the truth, you'd have stopped me. How could you not! I'd have been Tejas Oberoi's daughter, Mayera Oberoi, not some cheap, characterless middle class girl trying to seduce rich guys for money."

She repeated his words back to him, making the guilt resurface again.

"I know what I did and said to you was wrong, but you weren't right either. You should have told me the truth. You betrayed me."

"I did not betray you! I never told you any lie, except for my name. Which is also not a complete lie as Sinha is my mother's maiden name. When you asked me about my father, I told you he's self-employed, which he is." Mayera had to use every ounce of her self-control to keep her voice down as there were guests around.

"You hid facts from me. You didn't tell me the complete truth."

"It was crucial not to tell you. And your father knew everything from the very beginning. I didn't cheat your company."

"Aur mera kya? You cheated with my heart." He said in a defeated tone.

His words made Mayera's eyes fill up with tears. "Not telling you the truth at least told me what you actually thought of me. The eventual truth is if I'd been a middle class girl, I wouldn't have been worthy enough for you."

"No, Maye.. " Arjun wanted to tell her that he loved her, not her status but she didn't let him complete.

"I don't want to hear anything. I hid the truth from you, and you hurt me. Scores settled."

With this, she pushed his hand away and sauntered off.

"How could you not tell me?" Arjun was displeased with his father and confronted him as soon as they reached home.

"I'd promised Mayera I would not." Dev shrugged.

"Promised? Are you serious! Okay, but you could have told me after she left." His patience was running out. Why was everyone behaving as if him not knowing about it was absolutely normal.

"I didn't think you'd care." Dev calmly said.

"Why on earth would I not care?"

"Since when did you start caring about your employees so much?" His father asked.

"Since I'd fall.. " Arjun realised what he was about to rant out and immediately shut his mouth. He didn't want his parents to know about his love, not until he straightened everything out with Mayera.

"Maa, did you know too?" Shalini nodded and smiled sheepishly at him.

He sighed in frustration and aimed his focus on Veer.

Sprawled on the sofa, he raised both his hands in defense. "I swear I didn't know. I am as shocked as you are! Can't believe I was flirting with Tejas Oberoi's daughter the whole time. If he comes to know, he'll first burn all my restaurants and then me!"

He muttered the last part to himself, but Arjun still heard him.

"If he flirts with Mayera one more time, I'll be the one burning up his restaurants and him!" Arjun thought in his mind.

Lastly, he gazed at Alina. "I didn't even know a girl named Mayera existed in your life till yesterday."

Not having anything to say, and a lot to think, he marched off to his abode.

Everyone in the room laughed off at his expense as soon as he was off their sight.

Arjun had formed a plan and before he left tomorrow for Delhi, he needed to put that into action.
