It has been more than a fortnight since their lunch. Mayera and Arjun have been busy working on the renewal of The KaMa Group. The Oberois would be there next week, on Monday.

But in this busy schedule, they had a little moment of their own.

It happened when Mayera was trying to pull out some files from the top cabinet but thanks to her height, she wasn't succeeding in that. Arjun saw her giving her best, either standing on her tiptoes or taking small jumps to reach it.

A small smile graced his lips before he decided to help her. Standing behind her, he raised his hand to grab what she wanted. Her heartbeat stopped as soon as she felt his body heat behind her.

She carefully turned around and saw him standing close to her. So close. After taking the file, he looked down and realised their proximity.

Eyes clashed. Breath halted. Both their souls were feeling some foreign emotions. They didn't realise it but they had started to lean in. Arjun just wanted to wrap his arms around the breathtaking woman in front of her and never let go.

But before he could follow his desires, his phone rang and the beautiful moment was broken.

It was Wednesday afternoon when Mayera received a video call from her brother.

"I'll be coming to Delhi on Friday." Was the first thing he said.

"Omg, Giraffe! That's only one day from now. We're gonna have so much fun." Mayera jumped up and down in excitement, while her brother shook his head on the other side of the iPad at his sister's behavior.

"Calm down, or else your whole office will hear you."

"The only person who works on this floor apart from me is Arjun Sir and he's out for a meeting, so no, no one will be hearing me." She smartly stated.

"Alright, Munchkin. I'll have to go now. I just called you to inform you about my arrival. Love you, byee."

"Love you too." Mayera cut the call and turned around, only to find Arjun standing at her cabin door. The smile on her face was taken over by shock and she hurriedly switched off her iPad.

Arjun found it a little suspicious.

"Did I interrupt something?" He raised his eyebrow.

"N-no," She laughed nervously, "absolutely not. How come you're back early?"

"The client's wife got into an accident so he had to leave."

Mayera nodded, but her hand was still clutching the iPad.

"I came to ask for coffee." Arjun said.

"I'll get it in a minute." She left her cabin with fast steps.

Arjun stood there, looking at her back while she entered the pantry at the end of the corridor.

When Arjun came back from the meeting, had knocked her cabin door twice, but when she didn't respond, he pushed it open, only to hear her saying love you too to someone. He assumed that she must be talking to a friend or maybe a family member.

Mayera's behavior on seeing him was fishy but he didn't give it much thought. Maybe she just got startled seeing him.

Friday came sooner that Mayera expected it to. Maybe it was because she was piled with work for the upcoming meeting on Monday.

Giraffe had texted Mayera that he landed in New Delhi at around 6 in the evening. She wanted to go pick him up, but Arjun had asked her to work late and get the final contract approved by him so that they can have their weekends free.

She agreed knowing it'll be great to have no work for the next two days and she can have enough time for her brother.

Mayera stood in front of Arjun, holding her breath while he read the documents in his hand.

He had already made Mayera change some clauses and print the entire contract three times, and she did not have the energy to do it for the fourth time. It was 10:40 pm and she was dying to meet Giraffe.

"Perfect!" Arjun exclaimed after a few minutes and she heaved a breath of relief.

Arjun was a tough businessman. He was so passionate about his work that it can become irritating for other people working for him sometimes. And giving compliments was not something he did very often. And Mayera knew that.

So when he said perfect, she knew that she really did a good job. And these are moments why she left her family behind. To become the best at what she loves doing. And getting appreciation for what she loves by the man she loves was just an added bonus.

After the approval, Mayera hurriedly went to her cabin to grab her things. There was a message on her phone from her brother.

I'm waiting downstairs at your office.

"Do you need a ride home?" Arjun asked Mayera when they reached his car.

It was really late and he didn't want her to travel alone. Because as hard as it was for him to believe, he had started to care for her.

"No, sir. I've got a ride home." Mayera replied, distracted. She was too busy looking around for a familiar face.

"Who?" Arjun asked.

But before Mayera could reply, she found the person she was looking for. He was standing on the other side of the road, with his back facing her while talking to someone on his phone.

"I'll see you on Monday. Goodnight." Mayera said without even looking at Arjun as she was busy looking at Giraffe. And then she ran across the road.

Arjun stood there, a little aghast as his eyes followed her. He saw her reach near a guy whose face was not visible to him, and take him in a bone crushing hug.

Even though it was dark, he could make out the dazzling smile on her face. And even though it was all silent, he could feel his heart crack.

She backed away from the man and then they both entered a car standing near them and drove off, while he was left there standing alone.

Why was it affecting him? She can be with any guy, dammit! Why did he feel like breaking the hands that were wrapped around her?

Whilst Arjun's heart started to fill with jealousy and insecurity, Mayera, on the other hand, emptied her heart in front of her brother, telling him all about the man she had fallen in love with.
