《Christmas Wish (Completed)》Chapter 69

A few weeks have passed and it is now four days from Christmas. It is also the day of my parents Christmas party because they just got back from a trip yesterday. Massie came over this past weekend and had dinner with us and we done a little gift exchange.
This morning also started my maternity leave after I clocked out from the few hours of work I put in. That work was just to finish up documents and to make sure the other physicians have my patients charts like they need too. I think it is going to feel weird not working because that is all I have done for years now and never went this long without it. Nicolas is excited though and plans to stay home with me and use the computer here to do his schooling, like he normally does on my days off and Jack works.
I knock on Nicolas's door. "Hey little man. Are you about ready?"
Nicolas opens the door and stands proud in his dark wash jeans and button up shirt.
"You look like a very handsome young man." I smile at him.
"You look so pretty too Mama." Nicolas smiles.
"I feel ridiculously huge." I laugh.
I currently have on the largest maternity dress I own that is a pale pink color. It was either this or my wedding gown is the only thing I have for formal attire. My scrubs still fit but otherwise it is large loose lounge wear clothing as my Mom would call it.
Jack walks out of the bedroom behind me, fixing the buttons on the cuff of his shirt. He looks positively delicious when all dressed up. I don't even need the extra hormones coursing through my body to make my panties completely wet with want.

"You guys ready?" Jack looks up and smirks. He knows I was checking him out and I am not ashamed of it at all, he is my husband after all.
"Yeah, I just have to grab the bag with the gifts and my purse." I turn and waddle down the hall to the living room and then by the front door.
I grab our jackets and hand them to Nicolas and Jack. We get the bag and walk out of the house, locking it up before getting into the car.
Jack makes the drive to my parents house. On the way there I spot Jewels car and see Tony driving it. As we go to pass by them I roll my window down some because I can tell theirs is down just a little bit.
"Slow pokes! Look at you in the grandpa lane!" I yell out and stick my tongue out.
I can see Jewels laughing like crazy as I roll my window back up. Jack is holding his laugh back but I can't especially when Nicolas starts laughing hard at my antics.
The phone rings and Jack hits the button on the steering wheel to answer the call.
"Hello?" Jack chokes out.
"Tell your overly pregnant wife not to scare a driver." Tony's voice comes through, with Jewels laughing in the background.
"Nah, I knew you wouldn't lose focus and it was to easy not too. What are you though seriously? Jack is going the speed limit and we pass by you in the slow lane like your the one carrying a pregnant woman and child." I chime.
"I don't even think so. I don't want kids for several years. I got a nephew and niece on the way is more than enough for me." Jewels laughs.

I can hear Tony chuckle.
"Just you see what will happen. So don't get any ideas or the factory will be closed for business and you better pray the birth control works or you can say goodbye to your jewels down below." Jewels clips.
Nicolas snickers in the back seat listening to them over the speaker. Thank God, this kid has went through the sex talk because we would have to explain it due to those two being pervy.
Making it to my parents house, Mom opens the door ushering us all inside. We take our coats off and then everyone gathers around the dining room table to eat first. Everyone talks lightly and enjoys the incredible meal that Mom cooks just for this day each year.
Jewels and Nicolas help to take the plates, as everyone refuses my help telling me to stay off my feet. Which at this point I won't argue with them because my feet get swollen easily if I stand for to long. Something that has started within the last week.
"Well young man." Dad looks to Nicolas when we all move to sit on the couches in the living room.
"I think it is time to carry on the tradition in this household. When Holly and Jewels were little they would get to pass out the gifts to whoever's they grabbed from under the tree. Would you like to do that?" Dad asks Nicolas.
"I sure would!" Nicolas jumps up and walks over.
He carried each gift with care and hands it to everyone. Nicolas makes a pile on the floor in front of everyone that is his and I can't help by smile. Our son is spoiled and there is nothing wrong with that because he doesn't even act like it nor asks for much of anything.
None of us adults open our gifts until Nicolas is tearing through the paper and gift bags. Thankfully he is easy on the bags since we can use them to transport everything back home that his grandparents and Aunt got him.
"Why aren't you opening yours?" Nicolas looks up to Jack and I.
"We enjoy watching how happy and excited you are, Buddy." Jack smiles to him.
We open ours once Nicolas is done with his and it seemed like he went even faster once he knew we were waiting on him. I didn't think that was even possible, but I laugh like crazy because paper is literally flying everywhere.
"Oh there is one more thing." Mom scares us all a little before she gets up and walks to the office room.
She walks out with a little pink bag. "This is for the little girl."
Nicolas walks over and I have him help me open in. Inside is a beautiful crib mobile with pink stars hanging.
"This is beautiful Mom." I tear up.

8 168Petrichor: Act One
Cody is adrift. Emily is alone. Sara is spiraling into darkness. Andrew is out of control. Chris is losing his mind. Grace makes the mistake of being friends with all of them. The friendship these six share will forever shape who they are. In the town of Darkwood, Washington they are forced into the harsh reality of the world catching up to them. When their involvement in their friend's suicide catches up to them, how will they juggle their guilt, issues, and crumbling friendships that fall before them? This is a redux of Petrichor. I was unsatisfied with how the story went. I rushed things and left things to happen off-screen a lot. So I'm rewriting it, this time dividing the acts into their separate books to allow the characters to properly develop. The story will mostly stay the same but I'll fix all the plot holes I found and change some character motivations here or there.
