The alarm goes off waking me from peaceful sleep. I turn it off quickly trying not to wake up Holly, but when I roll back over her side of the bed is empty.

"Good morning sleepy head." Holly smiles walking out of the bathroom.

"Good morning." I reply and look back at the clock doing a double take.

It is thirty minutes after I normally wake up!

"Yeah about that. You can sleep like the dead I swear. It went off the first time and you wouldn't budge in the least so I hit the snooze twice letting you sleep." She giggles some.

I get out of bed and kiss her lightly. "Sorry about that."

Grabbing clothes for the day, I walk to the bathroom.

"Doesn't Nicolas have an appointment today? Should be close to for his checks to make sure it's all clear with it being over six months since the last."

"He does today right before noon." I nod after spitting out my toothpaste.

Holly nods as she brushes through her hair.

"Oh last night they delivered the things we ordered for our wedding. We still don't have a place to hold it unless we just do it out back here."

I finish rinsing and think over what she suggests.

"The only issue is the end of November here we already have snow on the ground. Last thing I want is for you or Nicolas to get sick."

Holly sighs slowly. "I didn't even think about that."

I move over and rub her arms before I kiss her cheek. "We will figure it out, snowflake."

"When are you and the others going for dresses?"

"Tomorrow we are all off so it would be good timing. I thought about if Nicolas wants to join us ladies he can just to give him something different to do. Plus he is so far ahead with schooling the online courses actually paused him from doing anymore for a week."

I laugh and move to get my shirt on. "Yeah the one thing I worried about was him being to far behind with how long he wasn't able to do anything with the cancer. Should have known he would fly right back past."

We finish readying for the day and Holly kisses Nicolas on the head and then me before she is off to work. Nicolas walks in the living room from dressing after breakfast.

"Ready to go buddy? We got a customer booked this morning and then we got your appointment before lunch."

Nicolas nods and gets quiet. He has expressed his concerns about having this check yesterday. Holly's birthday kept his mind from it and since that was a few days ago he remembered this appointment.

The two of us get to the shop and Tony beat us here so everything is open. We walk in and Nicolas goes behind the counter.

I watch him closely and something clicks. Walking over to the counter, I lean against it.

"Would you like to help me out today? My mind is not working right. So maybe you can tell me where to place these props?"

Nicolas perks up and smiles finally.

"What type of pictures are they having took?" He asks before looking at the booking to see himself.

Once he sees we are doing a session with a small toddler, Nicolas gets up and walks to the props. I had made notes when scheduling the booking with things the small child likes.

"So what if you do a few different ones that way the Mom can say which she likes the best." Nicolas tells me with confidence.

I nod slowly. "Very good idea. Because each section of decorations will get a different reaction for the child."

Nicolas starts handing things to me and we load up the push cart. He is happy with the items on the cart and we push it to where I do the photographs.

In no time everything is set up and the customer walks in. Nicolas doesn't go back behind the counter but instead chooses to watch this session next to me. Each time I snap a picture he looks at the tablet to tell me if it is good or not, making me smile.

All the photo taken is done in less than an hour with the Mother happy with the results. Now to just edit slightly then print them off to where she can pick them up within the next few days.

Nicolas and I get all the props moved back to where they need to be. Tony gives Nicolas a high five having seen and heard it all.

In no time we are in the truck and going to the hospital for his appointment. Only now he is beaming still happy from the photo session he just helped with.

We go up to the oncology floor and wait to be called back. The nurse calls us back and we get into a room where they have Nicolas put a gown on since he will be going down for testing in a few minutes.

There is a slight knock on the door and I let them know they can enter. Holly sticks her head in.

"Hey little man." She smiles.

"Mama! I didn't think you would get to come down." Nicolas smiles and relaxes more.

"I will always be here for you." Holly smiles.

The nurse walks in with a wheelchair to take him down for testing. Nicolas hugs us tight and leaves with the nurse.

"So, I didn't want to tell Nicolas but I took my lunch right when I knew you guys would be here. Because I couldn't miss it." Holly wraps her arms around me.

"That is one of the many reasons why your an amazing Mom to Nicolas." I kiss her temple.

We wait for awhile until Nicolas is brought back in the room. With Dr. Moore following in straight behind.

"Hello guys. So I was looking at the test as they were ran with the CT scan and I can say for certain everything is still in remission. The lab work will take a few hours to come back yet, but that is more to make sure the anemia is under control. For now stay with the diet he has been on until the results come in and I can give you guys a call."

We thank him before he leaves the room and Nicolas gives Holly a hug before she has to leave to go back from her lunch break.

"Please try to grab something to eat." I whisper as Nicolas went into the bathroom to change back into his clothes.

"I will. See you both tonight." Holly smiles and kisses me quickly.

"See you tonight Nicolas." Holly speaks close to the door before she leaves to clock back in.
