We are in the middle of December and two weeks passed since the tranplant for Nicolas. I won't lie one bit I was stiff and walking with ice packs is the only thing that helped. The bruise took a good week to heal but it was not bad unless my jeans rubbed tight in the area, so it was sweats to help keep that down.

Nicolas's blood work and testing have been coming back better as there is already showing the transfusion is working. Right now, they are making sure he doesn't get an infection or anything major side effects from it all. The good thing it being from me helps to where his body doesn't try to fight it as much.

He has been on the tired side a bit more and will take two naps during the day. Eating has taken Holly and myself to convince him to eat the small amounts that he has ate everyday. Which Holly told is part of the downfalls that I knew could happen prior to having it done and signing the papers.

Holly spends much of her time with us still but in the last week her patient case load has gained more. The hospital has offered her a position within the pediatric ward. Nicolas was napping when she came in with so much happiness and told me, which I was the first to know not even her sister knew until after their shifts.

Nicolas is currently watching his show and sitting up in his bed, while I am on my computer ordering gifts for him. Christmas is right at us with a little less than two weeks and I won't leave him to go shopping but I can order. The gifts will be sent to my house and Tony is going to pick them up and ready them for Nicolas.

I haven't worked out how I will have him open everything because not everything needs to be here in the hospital room, but I know three of them will be brought here for him on Chirstmas day and then one from Santa.

Sure many would say that a seven year old should not still believe in Santa. First off, I could care less if he knew and believed the rest of his life I would be happy to still do it. I have kept that side of him after losing my wife because I want him to have a childhood for as long as possible.

There is a knock on the door and Holly pecks her head in.

"Hey, I thought you went home for the night." I close my laptop and stand, smiling at her.

"Well, technically I did go home." Holly laughs and walks in .

Hot damn! This is the very first time I have seen her in normal clothes and not scrubs. My eyes are roaming and trying to stay in their sockets at the moment. Holly has on dark wash jeans and a red shirt on that is hugging the curve of her hips to the thin waist and amble rack on top.

Drool check? Nah, I don't even care.

"I came back because there is something very important missing for you two." She smiles.

"What's that Holly?" Nicolas moves on the bed some and chirps up.

"This." Holly giggles and pulls in a box from outside the door.

I pick it up and place it on the floor next to the bed. Nicolas claps his hands.

"How can we have Christmas coming up and you two not get to enjoy a." Holly smiles and gets cut off once she opens the lid.

"Tree!" Nicolas squeals, louder than he has in a long time.

Holly pulls out a very small tree and puts it on the counter. She helps Nicolas out of the bed and slides the box to the counter.

"Would you help me decorate it little man?"

Nicolas nods and Holly pulls out small pieces he can put around the tree and then she pulls out two strings of lights.

"Now, these are battery operated so they don't go agaisnt any rules the hospital has." She smiles and hands them to me.

I go around and lay them out on the counter and hold the switch pack with the battery.

"The lights are ready to turn on buddy, when you are." I smile to Nicolas.

He bounds over and I show him the on and off switch he flips it on just as Holly turns the main lights off. The room is lite up in dim lights but the smile on Nicolas's face couldn't get any bigger as he looks to the small tree and decorations around the white lights there.

I watch as he closes his eyes looking at the tree and mumbles under his breath to where we can't hear anything he is saying. Looking over to Holly she has some tears in her eyes watching Nicolas and it warms my heart even more on another wonderful thing she has done for us going above and beyond being a doctor.

"Everything okay buddy?" I ask once Nicolas looks up to Holly and I.

"Now it is because I am able to do my Christmas wish in front of a tree to where it comes true." He smiles.

"What may that wish be?" I tickle his sides some, loving to hear his laugh.

"I can't tell you Daddy or it won't come true." Nicolas laughs.

I stop tickling his sides and he lets out a small yawn. Picking him up, I carry him to the bed and he sits up.

"I also brought us some food." Holly pulls out some boxes. "I know you hadn't ate so now you can enjoy some pizza. I even got you some of the grill chicken nuggets you liked the other day, little man." Holly pulls out his bag.

Nicolas doesn't put up any fight and starts eating them easier than when we tried to get him to eat dinner. Holly sits by him and eats on a slice of pizza, watching tv with Nicolas.

It just feels right when she is here and spends her time with us and not even on working. I know she doesn't do these things with other patients and in the time of knowing her almost three months now, my feelings have grown to wanting more.

I have secretly been trying to figure out a way to ask her out once Nicolas has been discharged. I know she can't while he is still her patient and I am respecting that. Well other than the few kisses we have shared and trust me I want more. Each time we have gotten close something has came up kept me from kissing those soft, sweet lips of hers since the day I donated stem cells.
