Eliazer King's POV
the fact I got caught by the least expected person. I expected cops spitting out, and I quote, "You know that's illegal, right?".
"Wait, you didn't bring your car?" Bryn asked out of the blue.
"Is there a problem with walking?" I replied with a question.
"Nope, not a problem at all." She said slowly, hands up in surrender.
"Exactly," I added with a smirk.
"Okay okay, let's stop with being smart-" Bryn's words were cut off by her cell phone ringing. She excused herself, quick to answer. She mumbled something until tears pooled in her eyes. I felt my heart stop at her face, red and teary. My hand went to her shoulder as soon as she hung up on the phone.
"Wha-What happened? What's wrong?" I genuinely asked, furrowing my eyebrows.
"My brothers missing." She said, a crack in her voice. I felt my heart drop to the pit of my stomach. Of course, he's missing. I let my hand drop as I felt anger course through my veins.
"I-I need to go home." She quickly said.
"I'm coming with," I stated.
"But-"
"I'm not making any room for argument. I'm coming with and that's final." I grabbed her hand, leading her to her home. Her own hand tightened, around my own. She was in need of support, and I'm going to give it to her. We made it to her home in no time. The first thing she did was barge in through the double doors.
Wow, how comfy.
The big setting was unknown to me. I warily walked in through the doors, wiping the bottom of my boots, making sure not to drag in the dirt.
"Hello there, how can I help you?" My head snapped at the male voice. He's was surprisingly young for a butler, my main guess. He wore white gloves with a black suit. When I looked back at his face, it's showed some kind of expression.

"I'm sorry, but I'm not homosexual." He stated with a frown mixed smile.
"Oh my god, no."
"Yes, I'm really so-"
"No I mean, I'm not gay!" I exclaimed.
"Oh- well, that's good!" He said, relief written on his face.
This is what happens when you look at people for too long. But other than that, there was something that surprised me. I felt normal. He looked at me like I was a normal human being, like Bryn. And it felt great.
"Nikolai is at your service. Whom might you be?" He asked politely, hands folded together.
"Eliazer King," I replied. He stretched out his hand. I put our palms together in a handshake, a firm handshake may I add.
"Well, may I know your relationship to Ms.Atkinson?" He said.
"I'm a-a friend," I replied, pursing my lips.
"Ah, that's nice. Moving here was the right thing for Bryn." He said, probably telling himself the last part. And it makes sense, her little sister Charlie, passed away.
"Well, we're all going through a hard time right now. But I'm sure Bryn would love to have you here. Her room is on the second floor, third door to the left." He said, motioning up the stairs. I thanked him, running up the stairs, two steps at a time. I saw the door he was talking about, pretty hard to notice when it has Bryn's name written all over the door. I knocked on the door twice before opening it.
"What happened? Are you okay?" I asked slowly, entering the room upon seeing Bryn laying face down on her bed.
She lifted her head up, "They can't do anything until it's been twenty-four hours." She said, disappointed. "Ma-maybe Aspen is just out with Kacey, hanging out. After nine hours..."

Not quite.
"Listen, everything's going to be alright," I said.
I'll do everything I can.
"I think- I think I gotta go. I'll be back whenever I can." I said, getting up. Bryn said nothing, due to her state of denial. I walked out the door, and I had an intention of doing something.
~
I stayed in my room for two days. Sobbing. Aspen hasn't come home yet, which forced police to file a missing person report. The squad has come by, supporting me and staying by my side. But somebody I haven't seen was Eliazer. I was laying down on my bed until I received an urgent call.
Jared.
I was quick to answer. "Bryn, you need to come over. Now." He said, no room for discussion. And that's exactly what I did, I went over. Once I walked in through that apartment door, Jared jumped on me, asking questions.
"Eliazer's not with you?" He immediately asked.
"No? I thought he was... Where is he?" I asked.
"Oh my god, he's fucking stupid," Jared mumbled, sitting down on the kitchen chair while running his hand down his face. Tears whelmed in his eyes, "So so stupid."
Something was terribly wrong, and I felt it. "Jared, what aren't you telling me?"
"I think Eliazer knows who took Aspen." He said, biting the inside of his lip. I felt my heart stop as tears pooled my already swollen eyes.
"Who?" I said, a croak in my voice. "Who?!"
Jared stayed quiet at my outburst, running a hand through his hair.
"Now isn't the time to be hiding fucking secrets, Jared!" I yelled, desperate for answers.
"It's not that simple, you need to understand!" Jared yelled back.
"Jared. My brother is at stake, and possibly Eliazer. So we need to fucking find them right now." I said.
"No, we need to plan things out."
"Jared, there's nothing to plan! We go and we find them."
"Bryn, if that even happens. They probably won't make it." Jared sobbed, slumping back in his chair. I yelled, frustrated before barging inside Eliazer's room, desperate for answers. I rummaged through his dresser and bed, everywhere. That's until I stumbled upon his untidy corner.
"Oh god," I mumbled as a realization hit me. I took the newspapers, horror on my face. The murders, the killer. I looked down at his desk to see the withered rose that came from the man. The fucking withered rose.

Viceroy's Pride
This story could be about the Tellask Empire, ruler of a thousand suns and faced with imminent peril at the hands of the Orakh hordes. It could be about Paltai Amberell, the scion of a noble elven House, fallen upon hard times and seeking to find the key that will restore his family's name and save the Empire itself. It could be the story of his voidship, The Viceroy's Pride, powered by magic and crewed by a team of crack marines as they search for adventure and the solution to the Empire's myriad problems. Instead, this is the story of Daniel Thrush, human electrical engineer, befuddled researcher and survivor of the debacle that was first contact with a spacefaring civilization. Due to a combination of luck, magic, hard work, and more luck he is thrust into the center of events as Earth is shoved onto a much larger stage rife with semi-immortal elves and magical kingdoms that predate the Earthly invention of agriculture. Earth is outnumbered, and we have precisely one wizard. Dan. He's not very good at it, but he's going to have to learn in a hurry or watch everything he knows get torn apart by massive spacefaring empires straight from the pages of a fantasy novel. ---------- Some readers have noted that the MC tends to be weak willed and pushed around a bit. A significant portion of the story is his character growth into not being a pushover (i.e. him being passive is in the early chapters on purpose). I'm just including this caveat/warning to make sure that readers aren't surprised/upset and that they stick with it until he learns to stand up for himself. His arc begins to crystallize around chapters 25-27. If that's too long to wait, I get it, I'm just trying to do my due diligence and warn you that the character development is a bit of a slow burn. This is NOT a harem novel. Nothing against them, just not what it is. --------- Updates Monday, Wednesday, and Sunday Feel free to bother me on our discord- Discord!

8 251Into the Feywild
I've never considered myself to be much of a fighter. In fact, I had no notion what it was all about. I couldn't envision a war amongst people, especially my own. In this odd realm, a timid half-elf has little chance of success. Especially with minimal experience. I've only fought as a means of survival, self-defense, if you will. I had known only humans, so the concept of elven culture and family was foreign to me. And yet, here I am, in the midst of a tremendous battle between two Feys and a God. I never planned for things to turn out this way, or for me to get caught in the great shambles of war—a conflict between good and evil. My two companions are practically strangers to me, knowing nothing but my name. This journey was not something I had planned or wished for, but it was what the Gods gave me.◈ ◈ ◈Meli, a young half-elf traveling the Material Plane, is unexpectedly captured while on her travels, only to become a member of an odd group of individuals. Crane, an older wizard castaway from his college for practicing unnatural magic, and Kurky, a youthful and lively gnome who is as fascinating as they come. Meli's curiosity gets the better of her as she chooses to accompany them on their not so concrete journey into the Feywild. Little did they know of the constant war raging within this woodsy plane. Maybe Meli will discover everything she's been looking for, embracing love and pleasure along the way. Or perhaps she'll become a part of something bigger. © Copyright to EmmeMeadows 2021
