《King of Freaks ✔》Chapter 35

starting to chill down a bit. Instead of wearing a coat, I've transferred to sweaters and leather jackets. Anyways, I was in the garage with my brother, Aspen, who was playing his drums. The guy is twenty-one and still hangs out in his garage. Not that it's bad, Aspen is in love with music.
"Oh my god, guess fucking what Bryn." He said, dropping his drum sticks.
"Chicken butt," I replied, looking through old stuff.
"I fucking hate that."
"I know, that's why I say it."
"Okay, let's be for real."
"Fine Pennie, tell me," I said, using his feminine nickname. Aspen rolled his eyes, a smile on his face.
"Okay, so it's official!" He said, skipping around the garage. "I met Kacey's family. Her family is great! Except for her brother, he's a little dick sometimes."
"That's great! How old is she?" I asked, remembering about the girl Aspen was always bragging to me about.
"She is nineteen. She works at this ice cream shop her mom owns after her Dad passed away." Aspen explained. "Loui's Ice Cream House it is."
"Wait, I've been there before!" I yelled, remembering the time Eliazer took me there after my fight with Kegan. The entire Charlie incident.
"Oh, yea? With who?" Aspen questioned, a smirk on his face.
"Somebody," I replied, pursing my lips.
"Well, who is this somebody." Aspen pushed on, raising his eyebrow.
"How does this have any relation to Kacey?" I asked, throwing him a paper ball.
"It doesn't, it's just me being a brother you goof." He replied, throwing back the ball with a smirk on his face.
"Wow, I feel the love, big brother!" I shouted sarcastically.
"Of course you do." He replied with a soft smile. "Do you ever, think about her?"

"Wow, what a mood killer," I said.
"No, I'm serious Bryn! Do you?" Aspen stated, pursing his lips.
"Not a time passes by that I don't," I stated. I would never forget about Charlie. Nobody likes being forgotten.
~
"Have you guys ever noticed those before?" I asked, pointing at the street art from the back seat of the truck window. "They come out like every two blocks."
"What? The one of the guy and the street light?" Benji asked next to me.
"Yeah, I'm telling you, it's literally everywhere," I said in response.
"Hey, it's pretty cool though. And the way it molds with other, uhm, masterpieces is pretty cool too." Tanner added from the seat behind me.
"To be honest. It shows a lot of emotion, especially when the scenery in the art is at night." Gemini added in the seat next to him, and next to her was Gray. We all somehow managed to squeeze in the truck. Bruce was driving with Eloy in the passenger seat, River was with Benji and me while Tanner, Gemini, and Gray sat in the back. It was pretty cozy though, and loud.
"Well, either way. I like it, it reminds me of someone." I said. "I just don't know who."
"I think I know who." River said with a smirk, leaning forward so that I could see him across big Benji.
"Alright. Who do you think smart-ass?"
"Mr. King," he said slowly. Everyone ooh's reply, making me slump into my seat.
"Okay. Okay. Okay! Shut up already! I get it, it probably was him." I replied with a smile etched onto my face.
"Somebody getting cheesy?" Gray said, although it sounded very serious, you can hear the tint of humor in it.

"No, I'm not," I replied, covering my hands with my face's. "It's natural for me to get red."
"Who said you were getting red?" Bruce said, looking at the rear view mirror.
"Exposed," Eloy added, I'm pretty sure with a smile.
"Okay, guys! Anyways, just drop me off here. My house is a couple of blocks that way, I'll just walk it. You have to drop off Tanner the other way anyway." I said as Bruce skidded to a stop.
"It's frickin' dark out there Bryn," Benji said, pointing out the window.
"I always walk in the dark, anyway," I said, getting out of the truck. Everybody told me to be cautious before waving goodbye. They stayed in the same spot until I finally turned a corner. What great friends I have. Anyways, I was by a few streets before I saw something that caught my attention.
Is that guy... Street painting?
I saw a hooded figure spray painting on the wall of an abandoned building, various other different pieces there too. But you'll never guess what he was painting. The boy and the street light. I don't know what happened or how I got the courage to walk up to him, but I did.
"You know that's illegal, right?" I said, out of the blue. He dropped his yellow can, almost falling as he leaned on the wall.
"S-shit. Don't fucking do that Bryn!" He whispered back.
"Eliazer? Wh-"
"Don't ask me what the hell am I doing, what the hell are you doing? Walking up to a stranger like that, you didn't know who I was! You know you could've gotten hurt? Seriously, what the flipping fuck."
"That still doesn't change the fact that what you're doing is illegal."
"That still doesn't change the fact that what you did was dangerous."
"Why do you like doing that? Mimicking me but flipping around the entire sentence?"
"Did I annoy you?"
"Yes Eliazer, you kind of did."
"Then it's fun." He replied, putting away his things.
"Wait, you're not done with that?" I asked, pointing to the street light.
"I am, I was just adding a few touches but, it's fine." He replied, grabbing my arm and guiding me away as he slung his book bag over his shoulder, not before spraying IHAR as the signature.
"Uhm, what's the meaning to that anyway? I see the art everywhere." I asked him.
"Well, I guess the street light is the only light the boy has even in a dark street at night," Eliazer explained quickly.
How much deeper can that get?

NOVA INTERIT.US
It's 2063, and the town along with much of the nation are in disarray. The decay started years before the Great Event. Our town still had hope thanks to the five families, who'd created a blockchain based water distribution system for the locals, a valuable secret hidden from the Global Water Commission and their network of mercenaries. Earlier in the mid-2040's, right after the state secessions of Idaho, Montana, and Texas, the Global Council of Water Commissioners made their deals and moved into towns throughout the country. They called it "the integration." The Commission and their contractors integrated with municipal water departments, using their organized network to invade like parasites on local services. It all coincided with the 29th Amendment to the United States Constitution, later referred to as the Regional Trident Plan. Nova is a story about survival, power structures, the turning of relationships, and the networking between people and the systems to which they belong. It’s about A.I. blockchain possibility, and its potential for human betterment versus our detriment. It’s about the question of whether or not we need to be saved from ourselves, and by who or what? The Great Event at the end of the first chapter might just be what actually saves us. The epilogue will take place in 2517. This scene is fully sketched and the full arc of the novel is set. I expect to finish Nova Interitus by summer of 2023. This is realist hard-sci-fi dystopian fiction. I hope you find Nova to be a challenging and consuming story. This is not something I planned to write. It all came to me in a dream and I haven't been able to stop writing it. This Royal Road posting is basically a beta test with chapters and drafts to get some feedback and see if there's any readership for this narrative. For the full experience read Nova on Substack. I will be narrating a podcast version later this year there. https://novainteritus.substack.com/

Falling For A Man Of The City
He stood up momentarily discarding his shirt, eliciting a small moan from me at the sight of his physique. His body would always take my breath away at the black ink and scars littered holding a story of their own. When my eyes moved down past his pectoral muscles to his pants I felt my breath hitch in my throat at the view of his manhood straining against the fabric. If I didn't feel shy with the way he was admiring me, I certainly felt shy when he reached out to remove my underwear. It was the first time I had ever allowed anyone to see a part of my body that I had been taught to guard fiercely so it was only natural that I look away feeling self-conscious. Considering I wasn't making any effort to hide it, he chuckled lightly making me blush when he went further to spread my thighs gently unveiling the secret that I had been yearning for him to see. "You have such a pretty pussy," were the words that came out as more of a growl. Turning to look at him, I found his eyes already watching me causing my chest to constrict in sweet agony, "I'm going to enjoy eating you, my little gazelle," he cooed gently falling to his knees in a prayer like motion. Only this form of prayer was far beyond holy but aimed to please and was sacred in its own way... ***When Aaliyah Winston waltzed into the city of New York in search of a new life, unexpectedly she is thrust into a world. She gains more than she bargained for once she catches the eye of the leader of the Mafia. Drenched in decadence and an allure that has her throwing all caution aside, he proves to be more than meets the eye. As they indulge in an attraction so powerful and addictive surpassing that of any drug it's in their aim for love, when family secrets and lies are exposed. It's quite a risk to allow a man like him into her bed. Yet the true test of whether they'll survive lies if she can accept hands that have been painted in blood holding her heart.
