Oakley’s P.O.V

My throat hurt. My eyes hurt. Everything was hurting.

I woke up to the sound of two screaming males, arguing.

“Move man, let me through!” A deep voice growled.

“You have no right to see her after what you did.” Someone yelled back.

“Jason don’t make me ask you again.”

“She doesn’t need you. You’re worthless piece of crap. Get out of my house.”

“You’re house?”

“Yeah, I’m the man in this house, and I want you out. I don’t care that your alpha’s son. That means shit to me. You hurt someone I care for. I’m not cool with that.” Aw Jason does love me. I smiled.

“She’s awake.” Was that Scott?

Suddenly memories flooded into my head. Scott was angry. Really angry. He hit me. Scott Williams hit me.

Why wasn’t I angry at him? Furious even?

He wanted to come and see me because he was sorry? He better be sorry.

“How the hell do you know? She’s upstairs.” Jason snapped.

“Go check on her. If you won’t let me then do it yourself, please?” Scott nagged.

“Fine. Don’t follow me.” He whispered. I closed my eyes and pretended to be asleep.

If Scott found out I was awake he might want to see me.

“Oakley you alright?” He asked softly stroking the hair of my face.

Don’t wake up Oakley, don’t wake up.

“I know you’re awake Oak’s the blanket is too high up for you to be asleep.”

I opened one of my eyes to see he was looking straight at me smirking.

“How did you know?” I whispered, my throat still burning.

“When you sleep, the blanket is always under your armpits.” He smiled proudly.

I looked at him. How the hell did he know that?

“I’m more observant than you think.”

I smiled. “What time is it?” I asked, not bothered to turn over and check my small alarm clock.

He shifted nervously. “2:30.” I had only been out for a few hours.

Looking at his face told me otherwise.

“Jason what’s wrong?” I asked.

“Oakley It’s Thursday. You have been out for two days.”

I looked at him is disbelief. He was lying.

“Scary huh?” He tried to lighten the mood. It clearly didn’t work.

“Scott” It wasn’t really a question.

“He wants to see you.” Jason muttered obviously pissed off again.

“I don’t wanna talk to him.” I sighed.

“Want me to tell him you’re sleeping?” He shrugged.

“Yeah okay.” I nodded.

“You hungry?” He asked getting up of the seat.

This is when I got a good look at Jason. There were black under his eyes. His hair was a mess. Jason, his hair was always perfect. His face almost looks more pale than normal.

“Are you okay Jason?” I asked.

“Don’t worry about me Oak’s. Want me to bring you some soup, Mary made it last night.” He smiled.

Since when did he call her Mary? I thought she hated that.

“Yeah that would be amazing.”

He ruffled my hair. “What are friends for?”

“Friends?” I asked surprised. We never got along the two of us. We barely talked on a daily basses.

“Yeah you’re not too bad.” I laughed at this.

“Get lost Jason.” I smiled

“Yes mam.” He saluted.

I listened carefully wanting to hear what Jason says to him.

“Please.” Scott basically begged.

“She fell asleep. Don’t worry about it?”

“You’re going to bring her up food if she’s asleep?” Scott heard our conversation.

“For when she wakes up.” Duh.

Scott huffed, finally he was defeated.

“Fine, just tell her I stopped by, and do me a favour and give her this.”

“What is it.”

“Just promise me you’ll give her this.” Scott said.

“Will you stop bothering me if I do?” Jason challenged.

Scott paused. He didn’t, but new that it was for the best. “Alright.”

“Whatever.” He took the wrapped gift and pushed Scott out the door.

Jason came upstairs with a tray of soup on it and a small silver box.

“What is it?” I asked.

“Don’t know, don’t care.” Jason closed the door behind him and left me alone with the box.

Without thinking, I quickly grabbed the box and carefully opened it. I gasped dropping the box, laying my hand on my chest searching for my necklace. I took it out of my clothes and stared from that to the box. How in the world did he find it?

Scott’s P.O.V

Driving to school I was shocked to see her car parked in her usual spot. It took all I had not to go see her. I looked away and started walking to my group of friends.

“Hey Scott.”

“Scotty!”

“My man, what’s going on?” Someone yelled.

I nodded to all the boys but stopped in my tracks when I saw who was looking at me. Tears were in her eyes as she clutched her necklace. Why was she out of her bed?

“Oakley?” I asked walking faster to her. She was crying, her eyes red and puffy.

“What’s wrong?” I asked her.

“Where did you get this?”

“What?” I asked.

“The bracelet. Where did you get it?” It was almost a whisper.

My face lit up. She got it!

“It took me awhile to find it but, I thought you would have liked it. I can take it back and get you another one if you like.” I didn’t think she liked it.

“No god no Scott I love it but I don’t understand why.”

“I did something terrible Oakley. This doesn’t even cover how sorry I am.” I shook my head.

“Thank you Scott.” She was still edgy around me, not that I blamed her.

“Anything for you. You should go back home and rest. You still don’t look yourself.” I smiled taking a small step closer to her.

I lent in to her, and kissed her forehead.

“I’ll leave you alone now.” Before I could see her face I turned around and went to class.

It was hard. I'm not going to lie.

The rest of the day I didn't pay any attention too.

School was crap. Like really, what idiot created it?

Was it just to torture kids?

Make them sit through hell?

I didn't have a favorite subject, but really any class with Oakley was the best. we didn't talk in any of them, but I could just smell her all the time.

(That sounds really bad, but I'm a wolf, get over it.)

Oakley’s P.O.V

I still don’t have any idea how he got the exact same necklace chain and cross in a bracelet. I looked for years to try and get it, but everywhere I looked they thought I was crazy.

He told me that he will stay away from me. Honestly that would be for the best. But I don’t hate him. I don’t really think I ever have. Yeah I’ve been angry as hell with him and at times wanted to kill him. But never angry.

Driving home I stopped at a small cafe down the main street.

I hadn’t had a coffee in awhile and needed a break from going back home. Walking in, I got my coffee and left without any trouble. There was no one in there but a few men in suit, maybe on their morning tea break.

Before going straight home, somehow I ended up at our burnt down house. Or what was left of it. The council were slowly removing all the wood and turning the land space into a children’s park. They had to have consent from Mary of course, but she didn’t care. She didn’t have to pay any money so she was fine.

They had already put in the park benches and started the basketball courts. It was nice.

I don’t know how long I sat there for, next thing I know someone sits down next to me. I look up and see Scott staring at the tree’s, him hands crossed in his lap.

“Thought you said you would leave me alone?” I teased.

“To hard.” Was all he said.

“It’s been like,” I looked at my watch. “Three hours.”

“Yep three hours to long.” He shrugged.

I smiled.

“How was school?” I asked.

“Boring.” He muttered.

“Oh.”

“I thought I told you, you should be resting.” He looked at me.

“And you also said we shouldn’t be talking. What happened to that Mr?” He chuckled.

“So what are you doing here?” He asked.

“Honesty I have no clue. It was the first place I thought of coming to instead of going back home.”

“I noticed something about you Oakley.” Scott thought aloud.

“What’s that Mr. Obvious?”

“Why do you call it home? You say how much you hate it, why do you stay there?”

I paused, not knowing how to answer the question.

“When I turn 18 I’m leaving.” I nodded.

“Why not get out now? You can be free from her and all the annoying brats.”

“Mary is my guardian, if someone doesn’t adopt me, I’m stuck with her.” I shook my head, knowing the fact I was never going to get adopted. I was too old. No one wanted a 17 years old girl. That was too much work. Getting a little kid would be so much easier.

“My family could adopt you, you could stay with us.”

I shook my head. “No thanks, that might be a little wired.” I smiled.

“Why?” He asked in a serious tone.

I looked up at him and saw his face was dead set. He was serious about me staying there.

“Imagine what Britney would have to say about that.” I laughed nervously hoping he wouldn’t get angry.

“I don’t give a dam what she has to say. She won’t get involved anymore.” He was still serious.

I wanted to change the subject. He was too serious for my liking.

“Come on Mr. Serious, race you to the swings?” I smiled getting up.

Before I took more than four steps he was already sitting on the bigger swing grinning widely at me.

“How’d you get there that fast?” I gasped.

“I work out.” He bragged.

“Seriously, that was like impossible.” I shook my head in disbelief.

“What can I say?” He smiled.

“Are you on steroids?” I jumped back, my eyes widening.

He chuckled, “You know that’s the second time someone has accused me for being on steroids.”

He smiled.

“Well I don’t blame them look at you.”

“What about me?”

“You’re like, buff.” The minute it flowed out my mouth, my checks shone bright red.

He laughed. “You’re cute.”

He looked down at my hands and saw that I was still wearing the bracelet.

“You’re still wearing it.” His smiled was so bright it reached his eyes.

“I like it.” I smiled.

“Good, I hoped you would.”

I sat on the swing next to him and he started pushing me.

“Are you going to come back to school tomorrow?” He asked.

“I really don’t know if I can be bothered.” I shrugged.

“Oakley, you have to understand how sorry I am. I just snapped, it wasn’t because of you. I was angry and upset. You have to forgive me.” He was hurting himself because of it.

“Scott, would I still be here with you if I didn’t forgive you?” I looked up at him.

“I need to hear it.” He muttered.

“Scott Williams, you have nothing to worry about. I forgive you, and honestly never blamed you. I wanted to trust me, I wanted to hate you. But I can’t. Stop blaming yourself.” I smiled up at him.

He sighed in relief.

“I honestly wasn’t expecting you to talk to me ever again.” He muttered.

“I’m not that mean!” I joked.

He smiled. “What are you doing tonight?” he asked softly.

Without thinking about what he was really asking me I answered him. “Working why?”

He looked up from the ground, at me. “I thought we could hang out that’s all.” He muttered.

“Are you babysitting tonight?” I asked.

“Yeah I think so. Mary isn’t very happy with me though, so I’m not too sure.” He shrugged.

“Why wouldn’t she be happy with you?” I asked.

“She kinda went to the principal about what happened. Didn’t end well.” He chuckled.

“Really?” I gasped.

“Why do you sound surprised?” He asked.

“I’m surprised she realized I wasn’t awake.” I smiled.

“Yeah well she did and she was crying and everything.” Scott nodded.

“Whoa.” Was all I could say. Why was everyone caring all of a sudden? Probably because she thought that she could sue someone and get money out of it.

“It’s getting cold; you wanna come to my place?” Scott asked me.

I looked at my watch and didn’t realize what the time was. “Crap nah I’m sorry I can’t, I have work soon, and a bunch of homework still.”

“Will I see you tonight them?” He asked getting of the swing.

“Why?” I asked.

“babysitting maybe?”

“Oh yep maybe.” I smiled as he walked closer to me.

“Maybe?” He questioned. A small smile on his face.

“If I decide to come home.” I played alone.

“Why wouldn’t you come home?”

“I heard there might be a storm tonight.” I nodded.

“Oakley, look at the sky.”

I laughed, it was a beautiful day today. Just a tad chilly now but there was no chance of a single droplet tonight.

“Yeah you never know.” I shrugged, grinning like mad. I turned around and started walking towards the car.

I felt eyes glazing at me. Turning my head a little I smiled.

“Perv.” I said only loud enough for him to hear.

He chuckled. “Only for you.”

I got into my car and awkwardly waved at Scott who was staring at me. He waited for me to leave to get in his car and head home. He was quite sweet now. He still felt bad I knew that, but I told him its okay.

Is it okay?

Mary always told me, if his is a hitter, you become a ditcher. I didn’t understand it at first, but know can see what she meant.

Scott didn’t mean it, and say he wouldn’t do it ever again.

I tried to make it longer. I'm sick of the small chapters,
