The 8th grade school trip, it was something my friends and I had been looking forward to for years. We were going to New York. Clem, Jentzen, Coco, Walker and I were planning for the trip right now. We were all in a group tighter. Piper wasnt coming. She was the one who was most excited about it. But, now shes not even going. Shes staying here with her mom instead. I wanted to stay too. I wasnt just gonna leave Piper here alone. But, then Lev beat me too it. He canceled his flight and everything just to stay with Piper. Piper didnt want us both giving up our spots just to be with her. Jentzen was still going on the trip. It's his dream to go to New York. Atleast my other friends were going. "Okay so what are we going to do on Thursday?" Walker asks "Hamilton" Clem and I say in unison. Walker rolls his eyes "y'all have made me listen to that soundtrack to many times" Walker says "its either that or Wicked" Clem says knowing how much Walker hates Wicked. He hates it more than Hamilton, because his mom has made him see it ten different times. "Hamilton it is" Walker says through a forced smile. "Okay, but we have to go to a baseball game too" Jentzen says "sure" I said. I love baseball. A lot of my friends hate it. They say it isnt girly enough, but I love it. I used to watch it with my dad all the time. "Only if we can go to a bakery too, I want to try these famous chocolate chip cookies" Coco adds. "Okay, so on Thursday we've got Hamilton, Baseball, and bakery" Jentzen says "maybe we could do Hamilton on friday so we're not trying to fit a Musical and a sports game in one day" I suggested "okay, so Hamilton will be friday" Walker says. We spent the rest of the time making more plans and debating what day to go to what musicals and such. Then we all watched a TV show and had a sleepover.

Epic YA JRPG-influenced GameLit progression ensemble-cast steampunk romance fantasy! When Ryn’s hometown is destroyed, will he be able to gather together the twelve Primeval Jewels in order to defeat the evil Emperor and save the world of Mid? A fan novelization of an amazing Final Fantasy game that doesn’t actually exist, that currently releases at least one chapter a month. Epic in that this will be very long. “It’s a marathon, not a sprint!” (-Kandaj) YA in that this should be enjoyable to~13-year-olds and upwards. Some gore, some swearing, some sex, but nothing more than PG-13. JRPG-influenced / GameLit in that it uses lots of JRPG tropes, particularly from Final Fantasy. I’ve read a lot of fan Final Fantasy novelisations and you can basically think of this as a fan novelisation of its own Final Fantasy game that doesn’t actually exist as a game... Progression in that the characters level up over time (though not with visible litrpg stat boxes). They grow in ability through training and experience, gain new skills, individually and as a party (think Chrono Trigger) and spend time discussing and stratgeising about how to defeat their opponents. Main protagonist from book three would definitely be able to defeat himself from book one! Ensemble-cast because we've got quite the roster of misfits here. The first volume is all from the main protagonist's POV, but it starts dancing between his and different POVs thereafter. Steampunk in that we’ve also got airships, steam trains, pistols and ambiguous ‘amber bars’ that function a bit like artificial lights… Romance in that there is lots of shipping here, a few love triangles, and you may be kept guessing as to who will actually end up together... Fantasy in that we’re in a vaguely pre-modern setting. We’ve got swords, magic, dragons, dungeons, monsters, all that good stuff. * "This story captures that Final Fantasy quality perfectly. Kiddy but also grim. The characters are great... Severely underrated and needs more favorites/follows.
