《My Morphine [Wade Wilson]》[10]

Two days later, we arrived in Louisiana. Johnny asked around town and found out where we could find a guy called Remi Laboux, otherwise known as Gambi. just by his name, I could tell he was a charmer [as we all know gamblers usually are] Turned out we could find him in an alley casino, playing cards towards the back. The guy we fount that out from, yeah, as it ends up he lost 12,ooo dollars to Gambit in a card game about a week back. Call me crazy, but I'm thinking that I wouldn't go for a large bet against a guy with that nickname. [but thats just me]
Logan parked his bike, as did Johnny, outside and they taled up a scheme about how to approach this guy. I rolled my eyes and walked right in. All eyes fell on me immediatly. "Well Wade was right, toating around a couple of sword will certainly get you noticed." i thought as I scanned the joiny. Obviously Logan didn't notice me gone yet, or he would be flipping shit, running in here trying to find me. I saw him. A man in the back at a poker table, manipulating the cards. I smiled. It was kinf of cool after all. I rolled on up, people moved out of the way for me, I thought it was nice of them. [they probably thought I was crazy or something.]
I took a seat at the table, his eyes were over my body twice before I sat down. "Deal in a pretty lady?" I asked batting my eyes a couple times. He leaned forward with a sly smirk playing his lips.
"Only if that pretty lady," He reached out grabbing my hand, placing a soft kiss on the back of it. "will give me the pleasure of telling me her name." He finished. [see, charming...] His accent was smooth.
I smiled. "Only if you're the guy I think you are." I said sweetly. He nodded for me to continue. "Remi Laboux?" I asked.
He laughed. "Only if I don't owe you money." I laughed in return.
"Well, you don't owe me money sir." I said politly. I felt my eyes begin to burn, "but I would appreciate a little information." I said venomously. His smile faded and he asked everyone around the table to leave. They obliged. I looked towadrs the door to see Logan and Johnny running in. He was going to storm over, but I shook my head non-chalantly, and they moved to the back, obviously because they thought this guy was going to run.
I turned my gaze back to Gambit. "What can I do you for?" he asked, still playing the smooth card.
"I have a few questions..." I began. "about a man named william Stryker." He gave me a dangerous glare. "Don't get all jumpy." I said defencivly. "Me, and a couple of my friends, are out for blood from that man. Hes fucked us harder than you could imagine..."
"Oh I think I have an idea." He said drinking his burbon down. "You don't know the hells that man put me through." He said getting angry.
I lit a smoke. "Well thats good, because you don't know the hell I'm about to put him through, now lets call it even." he sighed and nodded. I noticed that Logan and Johnny had both moved outside. "Thats strange..." I thought to myself. I turned my attention back to Remi though. "I need to know where the island is, the place he takes all of the mutants after he captures them." I spit out straight forward.

He huffed. "You're asking a heavy favour pretty girl." He looked away, like he was going to say no. "What did he do to you? And how do I know you're really going to kill him and not just trying to bring me back to that hell hole?"
"You make a good argument." I said putting my smoke out. "William Stryker killed the man I loved, after making us comit sins that even the devil himself would turn away from." I grabbe dhis bourbon, poured a shot and drank it down. "My friends? Well its about the same story, we were all on the same team. We all quit around the same time, then he killed my lover, killed my friend Logan's lover and Johnny just wants to see him dead." I explained rather quickly. I was beginning to get worried about Logan and Johnny.
he sighed heavily. "Well then I guess I have no choice do I?" he asked.
I shook my head. "Even if you said no, I would get it out of you one way or another." I said burning his name in the table cloth with my finger.
He laughed. "well then, I guess you owe me now. Get your friends, we need to go now before I change my mind." he said getting out of his seat.
We walked out the back, where Logan and Johnny disappeared to. The first thing that caught my eye in the alley was Johnny...laying dead beside some trash cans. "Oh my god..." I looked around frantically. "Logan!" I called out. He came running around the corner and grabbed Remi by his shirt callors.
"You're taking us to the island!" He yelled.
I grabbed his arm softly. "hes already agreed to." I told him. He took a deep breath and put him back on his feet. "We need to go, now." I said seriously. We ran back to the motorcycles, Remi used Johnny's and lead us to his...for lack of a better word, plane. He told us he won it in a card game...not so assuring. It looked as though it would fall apart mid-flight...god i hope it doesn't fall apart mid-flight.
I sat on Logan's lap during the flight, he came up with the brilliant idea of jumping out into ocean before the island...so Gambit didn't have to get too close. I wasn't kean on it, but he did make a good point...we would live. I tried to argue the point that it would still hurt like hell, but it was mute. He already had his mind set on this, so i couldn't talk him out of it, no matter how hard I tried.
When Gambit told us we were nearing the island we moved to the back, near the door. Logan looked to me and squeezed my hand. "Think you'll ever be able to get over Wade?" he asked. His eyes were pleading, I know he wanted me to say yes, so he would have the hope that one day he would be able to move on past losing Kayla but...
"I think it'll haunt me...until the day I die." I said sadly. He gave me miserable look. "Don't look at it like I do!" I yelled over the rushing wind as he opened the door. "Just remember the good times, be able to look back and smile, laugh. Cherish her thought, don't fear it!" He laid his hand on my shoulder and kissed my cheek. I gave him a smile too.

he looked to Gambit. "if it makes you feel any better, this is really gonna hurt."
Gambit smiled. "Yeah, it kinda does." We all laughed. "Good luck." And with that Logan jumped. He looked to me next. "Be careful down there sweet heart, good luck."
I gave him a salute. "Same to you!" And the next thing I knew, I was falling through the air. I hit the water like a skipping stone [and yeah, it hurt] and once my legs started healing, I swam to shore where Logan was waiting for me.
Sneaking into the compound was a little easier than we expected. Once we got to the main door, Logan used his new adamantium claw to jimmy the lock, and we were inside. We made our way up a flight of stairs, and to the doorway of a lab. There was people in white, what looked to be, haz.mat. suits, and the man himself. William Stryker. Logan didn't even want to be stealthy at this point, we just walked on in. Stryker didn't look to us, before he knew we were there.
"Logan, Blyss." He greeted, not even looking in our direction. "I thought you would end up here."
We moved a little closer. My eyes kept shooting to the thing on the operating table. "Before I gut you," Logan began. "I just wanna know, why." He demanded. Stryker went on [basically saying he wanted to cure the world of the mutant gene, by making one super mutant to kill off the others. All our strengths, none of our weaknesses.] explaining his plan to Logan, I noticed a woman moving up behind us while Stryker spoke. My hands grew hot, and soon the flames were back, and as big as ever. Logan turned, and was struck speechless.
I realised, this was Kayla. Stryker explained she was a plant, all to get him here, to use his DNA after his body bonded with the adamantium, to use in his super weapon. "Blyss." He said. I looked back to him, "find the kids, get them out of here." he ordered.
"Logan, I can help." I wanted to stay, I wanted to see him murder Stryker, and possibly help him do it.
"Just go." He said sternly. I turned and ran out. I found myself back on the beach. My fire grew hotter, the familiar feeling of my blood temperature rising hit me, my eyes burning all at once. I wanted to kill something, someone. I heard comotion inside. I ran back in, and made me way to the floor directly below the lab we were just standing in.
By the time I made it back, Victor was laying out cold on a palette of wood in the middle of the room. Logan looked back over to me, Kayla was saying something about her sister being held here as a test subject, she peladed for LOgan to help. he looked to me, I nodded. She lead the way and we found ourselves running through the compound [AGAIN] to rescue people, we didn't intend to rescure,.
"Logan, we came here to kill Stryker." I said running beside him.
He rolled his eyes. "Blyss, there are more important things right now." he said. We came to the room of all of the mutant children. "We need to help them." He said lookign down to me. I sighed and nodded. He ran through slicing all the locks, and freeing the otherwise captive mutant children. [I just wanted to kill something.] We gathered everyone up, Logan and kayla lead the way for the kids, I brought up the rear and we started running towards the exit. At the end of the corridor everyone stopped suddenlt. I sighed, getting frustrated and moved to the front. Logan stopped me though and stood in my way. "Go with Kayla and the children, I have something I have to do,"
"But..."
"Blyss!" He yelled. "Find another way out, help them." He ordered.
I pushed his arms aside and moved to the front. "No." I thought immediately. "no, no no, no no!" I screamed over and over. My face stayed the same though, just a cold stare at what used to be..."wade"...I said looking at what Stryker had made of him. Logan made Kayla and the kids take another way. He approached me, very slowly from the side. He laid his hand on my shoulder.
"I can do this Blyss, you don't need to see..."
I shrugged his hand off my shoulder. "No, it can't be him." just then, two large blades grew from his hands, one on each, and I shook my head. "What did they do to you Wade?" I asked. No answer, they put sinthetic skin over his mouth. No control. Fire, just everything, FIRE. My eyesight became red, my eyes faded white, flames engulfed my arms to my elbow, and enveloped my eyes.
"Blyss that adamantium." Logan warned.
"all metals have a melting point Logan." I said walking forward. "I won't let Stryker use him like this!" I yelled running towards...weapon 11...he wasn't Wade anymore. I couldn't feel him. Logan jumped in, trying to strike when the weapon lunged for me. We were doing well until it got close enough to shove one of those blades through my chest. I grabbed its wrist and looked in its eyes. "Those are Wade's green eyes...wait...did he...?" He flipped away from me and started on Logan again. I stood back away from the figth. "I saw...recognition?" I jumped back in the fight with this small tinge of hope now pulling at my heart. If there was anything left of Wade in this creature, he would know me, I know he would.
"Blyss, what are you doing?!" Logan yelled playign defence with it for a moment. "Its not Wade anymore." He said.
I ignored him, I pulled one of Wade's swords and countered him until I had a clean shot, I drew the sword across his lips, cutting the sinthetics and the obvious bonds holding his mouth closed. I ran him through at the waist and swung in close, I laid my hand over his mouth melting the sinthetic skin. Once it melted, Logan ran him through in the back, I took my chance I leaned in and kissed him. Even if it didn't work, I got to kiss him one more time. His eyes seemed to flicker for a moment, and an immence pain hit his eyes. he opened his mouth "Blyss..." he choked out.
"Wade!" I yelled. "I love you, I'm gonna end this for you." I said. But by the time I got it out, he was back to attacking us. He turned, landing a hard kick to my stomache, throwing my across the room, nailing me against a cement wall. He got away from Logan, lifted his old Katana and drove it through my shoulder, into the cement. I wasn't able to move, or pull it out by myself. I looked back up into his eyes, there was that sadness again.
Logan attacked again and he flipped, behind him, turned and kicked him outside of the large steel doors. I put my head down, trying to get the fucking sword out of me when it happened. I looked up, to see Wade, actually Wade looked back at me. I would know those eyes anywhere. Not a word had to be said, I knew what was going to happen. he ran after Logan outside, I could hear them fighting, until it got so far into the distance I got worried.
I heard someone laughing and I looked back to see Victor smiling at me as I struggled to rip the sword out in different ways. "looks like you got yourself stuck." he said walking over to me.
"Fuck you." I said spitting at his feet. He grabbed the sword, tilting it up causing a new shot of pain to ring through my body. "get this the hell outta me!" I yelled trying to grab his throat. He stepped back and I glared.
"Hes not wade anymore Blyss." He warned.
I jerked against the sword again. "Don't you think I see that?!" I screamed. Tears came to my eyes. "I love him Victor, He needs to be done. I refuse to let Stryker order him around like a dog!" I cried. he gave me a sad look. he grabbed the sword ripping ir from the wall [and my now shattered shoulder blade."
"You won't catch up to him without help." He said.
"I don't want you god damn help." I said running outside. I looked around to see where they had taken their fight, and low and behold, Victor was right. I looked up at them fighting atop the smoke stack things. Victor came up behind me.
"Need a lift?" he asked.
I sighed, rolling my eyes. I jumped on his back and he carried my to the top. I had to help Logan. I had to free Wade...I had to be freed...
