Miracle, Kamryn and I were at Miracles new house visiting. The boys had been gone all day and hadn't been back yet. This was the first time we had actually seen her house.

"This hella nice Mir. I'm so happy for you and Jalen" I smiled at her.

"You and D are next." She smiled back at me. I shook my head "Yea. Soon enough" I responded.

After me and Darius had talked about the whole marriage thing, I was a little disappointed with his response. But I had understood where he was coming from. I was being a little delusional to think we were just going to get married.

The heard the door opening and the boys walked in. They walked in with smirks on their faces.

"Guess what daddy and uncle Jalen got" Darius said loudly and Darius pulled out a puppy behind their back.

"Ahh hell no" Miracle said within a laugh. "Look what daddy and uncle Jalen are taking back" I mimicked their excitement.

"A puppy" Kamryn said running up to the puppy. "Is it mine?" Kamryn asked.

"No" I said lowly. "Aaliyah" Darius said to. I rolled my eyes and waved him off "Don't even talk to me."

Jalen laughed and Miracle hit his arm "Don't laugh. Why would you even allow that?"

"I thought my niece would like it. What?" He looked at Miracle. She rolled her eyes.

"Mommy is it my puppy" she said to me, I looked down at her pleading eyes and I couldn't say no to my baby.

"Yea baby I guess it is. But your going to have to take care of it" I told her. She jumped in excitement "I will. Thank you daddy" she ran in Darius arms.

He kissed her cheek repeatedly "Your welcome baby. What you wanna name her?" He asked her.

She looked down at the small brown and pondered about the name.

"Mhmm" She put her hand on her chin. "Brownie" she smiled. "How cute babygirl" I smiled at her.

"Brownie Boweman" Darius said. I rolled my eyes "Brownie Colemon-Boweman" I smirked at him.

He stared at me "Brownie Boweman-Colemon" He said. "Nooo Colemon-Boweman" I crossed my arms.

"Okay no. Y'all not about to argue about a dogs name. Who cares." Jalen said. I rolled my eyes "Fine Colemon-Boweman" Darius said.

I smiled "I always get my way" he smacked his lips "Yea like a fat kid in a candy store" we all laughed and Darius put her down.

"Darius" I said and he looked at me and I motioned him to come. "We'll play with Kamryn" Miracle said.

Darius nodded her head and Darius and I walked to a private place to talk. "Why would you buy her a dog before talking to me first" I crossed my arms.

"Damn can I get a Hello first before you start jumping down my throat" he put his hands up.

I rolled my eyes "Hi" he smirked "Hey"

"Anyways. Answer to my question" I tapped my foot. "Well I think she deserves a dog. It'll teach her responsibility" he shrugged.

I copied the shrug "Your annoying" I hit his chest. "You love me." I rolled my eyes and pushed past him.

"You know you love me. Come on" I continued to walk past him. He pulled my back from my waist. "Move" I turned around to hit him.

"Just tell me you love me. Come on" He pulled me closer into him. "I love you there" I said fastly.

"No no no. Say it like you mean it. Say it like it's the last time you'll ever say it" he smiled down at me.

I stared at him "I love you Darius Boweman" I said slowly, pecking his lips with each word.

He licked his lips "I love you too Aaliyah Colemon" he bite his lip and pecked my lips again.

I smiled and hugged him. "You get on my nerves" I said while wrapping my arms around his neck.

He squeezed me tighter and smacked my butt "I know." He smirked as he let me go. I shook my head at him and we walked back into the living room.

"Really letting her keep this dog?" Miracle asked me. "Yes. I can't tell her no Mir" I looked down at Kamryn and Jalen playing with Brownie.

"Shi you better than me." She chuckled and shook her head. "Way better. I would've told Jalen to take that shit back to the pound he found it at" she patted my shoulder.

"Your horrible. You know that right" I laughed at her. "I know" she shrugged and sat on the couch.

We all chilled at Jalen and Miracles house for some hours before leaving. We had to leave earlier than expected because we had to buy the dog some stuff.

"I don't even understand why you would buy a dog without food or any other necessities." I told Darius as he pulled into PetCo.

"We forgot" he shrugged his shoulders while putting the car in park. "Of course y'all did" I got out the car.

"Come on Kamryn" Darius got her out of the car. "What about Brownie" she pointed at the dog.

"We'll be right back. Now come on" He closed the door and she obliged.

We walked through the store and grabbed all the necessary items for the dog. We grabbed some extra stuff because Kamryn claimed that Brownie needed it really bad, and her daddy wasn't going to say no.

By the time we were done both Darius and Kamryn looked tired. "Here I'll drive" I told Darius as we put the family items in the car.

"Aight" he nodded his head and put Kamryn in her car seat. I got in the drivers side and drove home.

By the time we got there both Darius and Kamryn were sleep. I got out the car and got Kamryn out her seat. "Come on babygirl"

"D" I said lowly not trying wake up Kamryn. "Darius. We're here wake up" I said again.

He slowly got up and stretched out. I laughed at myself because he looked so confused "Come on"

He stood in a trans for a second before finally getting out the car and I locked the door. I put Kamryn in her bed and when I came to my room Darius was already sleeping.

I shook my head and changed into more comfortable clothes and turned off the light. "Night poppa" I kissed his cheek.

I saw him form a small smile "Night mamas" I turned around and cuddled into his chest.

I had to wake up early for work, Ive working on a new project for awhile and it finally about to get started. I wanted to open a restraunt for awhile now. Now that I have a family it makes me want to do it even more now.

"Okay Mr.Boweman what's your goal for this restaurant. What kind of cuisine do you want to serve? Color palate? Layout everything" The lady helping me with restaurant asked me.

I thought "Umm I think I want a classy southern. Delicious food, homy feel. Comfortable and open to all kinds of people. I feel like L.A doesn't have a place for southern food and it be nice to bring that to the area"

She smiled "Good idea. Any colors in mind?"

"Maybe some neutral colors. Nothing too dark or too light. Right in the middle." She nodded her head and continued to write down my ideas.

I was scheduled to have a meeting today with some decorators and contractors. Danielle flaky ass was supposed to be here an hour ago. I had really been regretting hiring her.

"Girl I know" I head Danielle said in a laugh while walking to her office.

"Can we finish this up later. I need to handle something" I asked while looking out my office window.

She gathered her books and other items "Of course. Great start for now." She smiled and walked out the office.

"Danielle." I got up out my chair and called for her. "Hey bubba" she smiled.

"Hey bubba nothing. Your late. You were supposed to be here at nine o'clock. Its ten fifteen" I looked at my watch.

"I'm sorry. I was running late. I had some other things to do" she scuffed. "First of all we don't take personal calls at work" I took the phone and hung up.

"Darius. That was rude" she snatched her phone out of my hand. "Second. If your going to be late you let me know"

She rolled her eyes "Okay bubba." I chuckled "At work its Mr.Boweman. Now get to work before I reconsider your position here."

She smacked her lips and walked away. I wasn't going to give Danielle any special treatment just because she was my sister. At work she was just another employee and I take my business life serious.

"Are you really ready?" Ariana asked me as I put my boxes in a moving truck.

"Yes Ariana. I'm ready to be on my own." I smiled and continued packing the truck.

I was finally stable enough to move out of Aaliyah's house. I was living with her for long enough. I was finally growing up.

"I'm proud of you Mel" Ariana hugged me. "Thanks Ari. Without you and your sisters help I'd be homeless right about now" I released myself form the hug.

She smiled. "Prince" I yelled. "You and Wolf don't drop that box." I said as they carried a big box to the truck.

"What the hell you got up in here. Bricks" Prince yelled back. I laughed "Just don't drop it"

"Your lucky I like you cause for any other girl I would not do this." Wolf scuffed as he put the box in the truck.

"Love you too wolfy" I patted his cheek. He smirked and walked back in the house.

"Mel that's it." Nas yelled from inside the house. "Alright. Imma go in and see if I need anything else"

Christian nodded his head "aight. Imma drive this over to your new place. I'll see your there." I nodded my head and he kissed my cheek.

"Alright knuckle heads. We out" Christian yelled and Nas,Prince And Wolf walked over the car and got in.

"Imma go with them. See you soon" Ariana said. "I'll be there. Give me a minute" she nodded her head.

"Come on Ariana. Before we leave you" Wolf yelled out of the car window. She rolled her eyes and walked to the car. "I'm coming"

I shook my head and walked back into the house. I walked back into my old room and scanned it before closing the door.

"You've come a long way" I heard Aaliyah's voice say from behind me. I turned around "Yup sure did. Thank you for everything" I smiled.

She sighed "Even though I really didn't like you or trust you. I'm proud of you. Truly" she crossed her arms around her chest.

"Thanks. That means a lot." I dug in my pocket "Here's your key." I held my hand out.

"Keep it. If you ever need somewhere to go. My home is always open."

"Thank you" I put the key back in my pocket. "Don't do anything that'll get you in trouble now. Cause I won't hesitate to call the police." She joked.

"I'm done with that lifestyle. I think I'm finally ready to be a grown up."

"Took you long enough. Enjoy your life Melody" I smiled and hugged her. "You too Aaliyah" I said before walking down the stairs.

"Are you leaving Mel" Kamryn asked me as I approached the door. "I am. I'll be back to visit you"

She held out her pinky "Promise." I smiled and shook my head. This little girl and her pinky promises. "Promise." I linked my pinky with hers and walked out the door.

It was time for Melody Lane to make a name for herself. I didn't go to college and I honestly don't think that's for me but there is something for me out there. I just have to find out what it is.
