Alaric's pov

I know I wasn't going to say anything to Nick, but I have to. He deserves to know after all the secrets. So, when everyone left. I stopped him and Hope. ''Nick before you go can I talk to you?''. ''yeah sure dr S, but Hope too?'', he said. I smiled at his question. ''yeah I figured out that you wanted Hope to be here too. So, that's why I stopped both of you''. ''oh, cool then'', Nick answered me. He and Hope stepped back in and I closed the door.

3rd pov

Alaric just closed the door and turned back to his two students. He then walked to his desk and took a seat. He took his hands and pointed at the two chairs for Hope and Nick to sit. They both did.

''look Nick I have something I have kept for a little of time from you, but I don't want to keep it anymore. You deserve to know what that is, because it isn't fair to you boy''. Nick looked at his headmaster with a confusing look ''okay. Go ahead Ric. Wait can I call you Ric?''. Alaric laughed a little ''of course you can Nick, just when the others are here call me dr Saltzman or dr S as you call me''. ''right of course. Sorry dr S''. ''Nicholas you don't have to apologize''. ''right, well go on. What is it you want to tell me''.

Alaric sighed ''you see. Roman isn't just here to help, he is also here because I asked him a favour a couple of months ago''. ''a favour? What kind of favour?'', Hope spoke up. ''I asked him to look into your mother. Your biological mother''. Nick stood up from his chair. ''what? Why?''.

''because Nick. We needed answers after we found out about you being a hybrid''. ''yeah I actually have been wondering about that. How did you find out about me exactly?''. ''it started when you were a kid. First it was your anger. You didn't have anger issues, but sometimes you were so angry that you broke something with just a smash. That's when your parents asked me for a little help. Of course as your fathers best friend and as your god father and someone I love, I did. I watched you and tried to help. Then when you were about twelve years old, you got really sad about something then out of nowhere your eyes began to glow and shift colour for the first time. That's when I and your parents understood you were different, you were a supernatural. We didn't know that you were a hybrid at the time, but we knew you had to be a werewolf. I talked to your parents to come into my school, but they didn't want it. Since you hadn't trigged your curse. They wanted you to have a normal life. So, they did all in their power to keep it a secret. It was just me and them who knew and another one...'', Alaric got cut off.

''wait another one. Who?'', the hybrid boy asked. ''Klaus''. ''wait my dad knew and didn't say anything to me?''. ''yes Hope. Your parents had to trust Klaus and tell him. If it ever came to that day you triggered the curse. They wanted him to teach you. However, it didn't come to that and we all know why that happened'', Alaric said sadly. Nick shocked his head and sat back on his chair. He then felt a hand slipping into his. He gladly accepted it and felt a squeeze. He looked at Hope who was smiling at him. He smiled back. Then he looked at his headmaster ''go on''.

Alaric nodded. ''after that, we kept if from everyone. Then it came to that day. All of us found out you weren't just a wolf, but also a phoenix. It started as a simple day then before we knew it. I was on a patrol with Matt as he asked me to look into something. Before I knew it a monster was coming at me, but this monster wasn't like the others. It was easy to kill and when I did kill it. It was like I got sent back to the past. There I saw a woman, a woman who came out of Malivore and was about five months pregnant. Suddenly it flashed between my eyes. Then I was in a hospital. There I saw the woman again giving birth. She gave birth to a beautiful baby boy. Then the door opened and revealed your parents. That's when I understood that baby boy was...'', Alaric got cut off. ''me''. Nick said.
