《Lustrous》Chapter 11: You're Place, or Mine

Anthony joined me barely a minute later, holding a few drinks in his hands. I looked at the drinks and smelt the vodka and lemonade. Scrunching up my nose I took three of the four drinks and slowly began sipping them while Anthony just rolled his eyes and steered the other drink.
"How long have you been here?" I asked him after a long sip.
"I was watching you when you walked in if that is what you we're asking."
"And you just watched me, the entire time."
"Pretty much."
"Then, why not come in earlier?" I questioned in confusion.
"I was going to let you have some fun." He shrugged and took a big sip of his drink.
"And then you spontaneously decided to crush it like a bug?"
"No," he dragged out the word as his eyes darkened slightly. "He was looking for the check and by the look in his eyes, he wasn't taking you to your apartment any time soon."
Really? Wow, I didn't think he was interested in getting physical just yet.
"And what's it to you?" I frowned wondering why he intervened. I had only done it earlier because I wanted to teach him a lesson about that wedding ring he wore but I wasn't wearing one.
"As you put it, I want to remain problem free in that area." He smiled at me.
Oh he's good.
I rolled my eyes but his mention of the sexual transmitted Diseases sparked my curiosity. "Have you had an STD before?"
He raised his eye brow at me, slightly amused. "What? I am you 'fiancé' I have a right to know."
Anthony held up his hands in defence and nodded. "Yes, I was young and learnt my lesson very quickly." He admitted honestly.
"Ewe." I frowned and showed my disgust.
"Oh relax it wasn't that bad. I got a phone call telling me I needed to get tested so it was before any of the symptoms actually showed up and a few tablets and an injection later, it was gone."
"Still gross."
"Yeah, yeah whatever," he waved me off and finished his drink in another big gulp. "So how many guys have you been with?"
Well, that was a bit blunt wasn't it?
"This is getting a little too personal." I looked down nervously at my drinks. When did I drink two?
"Oh no you don't!" He leaned forward and gripped my chin with his thumb and forefinger, tilting my head up he forced me to look at him. "I had to answer the personal question, so do you."
I sighed deeply. "Don't laugh." I warned him.
"I promise." He nodded towards me as he got comfortable.
"Two." I admitted.
Anthony smiled. "And, how long did these relationships go for exactly?"
"Six months."
He laughed, loudly.
"I hate you."

He pushed his lips together in an attempt to stop himself from laughing further. "You said that already." He said still chuckling. "Relax babe, I don't judge, it just means I probably have more to teach you than you can teach me."
I swallowed hard, my body tingling with the thoughts of what he could actually teach me. Looking up at his sinister smirk I saw that he was reading my expressions all too well. Shit, his onto me.
"I am not going to even bother asking you how many." I said in an attempt to get him to stop staring at me like that.
"No go ahead." He waved his hand in front of him, almost like an invitation.
"No thanks."
"It's not as bad as you think." He insisted.
Well he was thirty-two, he probably lost his virginity in his late teens that leaves him just over fourteen years of experience.
"Fine, how many poor women have you slept with?"
"Twelve." He said casually.
I flinched back in surprised and frowned. "Twelve?" I'll admit, I did expect a lot more.
"Yep." He seemed almost proud of the fact, that he could keep it in his pants.
"And how many of those were your assistants?" I asked remembering his weakness for them.
"Four."
"You're despicable." Four of his assistants. And how many of those women knew they could turn down their boss?
"What?" He frowned, clearly unsure of my disapproval. "It was easy and convenient. They wanted a promotion and I didn't have time to go out and find someone else."
"Still gross."
He shrugged carelessly. "See, not as bad as you thought huh?"
I rolled my eyes at his proudness, I couldn't really say he didn't surprise me, I had expected more, even though twelve was still a fair few, I had expected a lot more. "No, I guess not, so you have had actually relationships?" I wondered.
"Uh, I tried it in my twenties but it didn't work out they started to bug me and get all clingy and wanted the whole marriage thing and I didn't so, I just stuck with the convenience of my assistant' and the occasional friend of a friend."
"And how's that worked out for you now?" I gave him a dumbfounded look. He avoided marriage with women he was actually interested only to be forced to marry a women he normally wouldn't give a second glance.
"You're so funny." He shook his head in mocking.
I smiled sweetly.
"Do you ever think that maybe I'm ready to get married?" He asked me, his bright eyes watching my reactions carefully.
"You know," I started, mocking my genuine interest. "That was almost convincing."
"Well, you know I have been practicing."
I giggled. It was strange how I found his honesty so funny.
"But seriously," he focussed his eyes on me, the deep colour and intensity in his eyes showed me he was in fact being serious for once. "I'll give it a shot."

I raised my eye brows at him, unbelieving. "Really?"
"Yeah, why not," he shrugged. "I mean, regular sex and maybe some kids down the road, I could deal with that."
I couldn't help the laughter that escaped my lips. Because only a man like Anthony thinks of marriage like that.
"You are appalling." I giggled.
"What'd I do now?"
"Nothing." I shook my head and sculled the rest of my third drink.
"We should probably get you home." He suggested as he stood up from his seat and held out his hand to help me to my feet.
"Relax, I can get up, I'm not drunk."
"Those were made strong, you're somewhat drunk." He rationalised with me.
"Fine, a little bit tipsy. Are you okay to drive?"
"Yeah I only had two drinks and a massive dinner so I'm under the limit."
"Alrighty then, let's go." I jumped up too quickly making me head spin. "Whoa." I held my head as I waited for the dizziness to stop.
"You alright there?" Anthony held onto me, his arm wrapping around my back and his other hand gripping my left hand to steady me.
"Yeah, all good. I just got up a little too quickly."
Anthony loosened his grip on me and led me towards his car parked out the front of the restaurant. He kept his hand on me as he opened the passenger door for me and helped me sit down. "If you throw up in my car, I swear you won't live long enough to walk down that isle."
"Oh, relax!" I waved him off, "I'm fine."
"Just warning you." He muttered as he slammed the door shut and walked around to the driver's seat. It was a nice car, no doubt expensive.
"What kind of car is this?" I asked him as he sat down and started the engine up.
"Bentley Continental GT." He answered. "Why? You like cars?" he seemed almost hopeful.
I snorted. "No, I was just seeing how dead I was if I did throw up in here."
His face drooped as he stared at me, his grip deathly tight on the steering wheel.
"Relax, I'll hold it." I giggled as he started to drive off.
The car was quiet the majority of the way as we drove along the freeway and I enjoyed the silence. Well that date didn't work out how I had imagined it.
No, not at all, after all you went in there with one man and walked out with another.
"My place or yours?" Anthony asked me as he speed through the traffic.
My eyes widened as I turned to face him, his eyes fully focussed on the road.
Why not pull over now and we can chrissen the car.
No, we are not!
Your right, these sports cars don't have a lot of room. To the bedroom.
I put my head in my hands as I tried to get a handle on my thoughts but with the alcohol running through my veins it was a lot harder to reign her in.
"Excuse me?"
"What? You'll be moving in soon, you might as well save me some fuel."
"And why am I moving in?"
"We're getting married." He replied in a dumbfounded voice.
"I got that Sherlock." I rolled my eyes. "But why would I move in before then?"
"I need time to iron out those bad habits before we get married." He shrugged his shoulders.
"I still hate you."
"Your place it is then." He turned on his indicator and turned off at the next exit.
I found it hard to imagine, moving in with this man. I had only really lived with my mother, my father and Charlene and then for the past few years, Jessie. And even then it was a lot of them not being home. Was Anthony like that? Was he one of those men who never really came home, who worked and partied all the time?
The car came to a stop and we both jumped out, Anthony a lot quicker than me. By the time I had swung my legs out of the car Anthony was there to grab my hand and help me to my door.
"I can walk by myself." I tried to free myself of his hold but he just tightened his grip as he walked me to the building door.
"Do you need help to get up the stairs?"
"I'm not drunk, god, stop being so controlling." I snatched my hand back.
"Oh trust me, you haven't seen controlling, yet." His voice held a threatening promise that pulled at my curiosity and inner woman.
Down girl, this one needs a leash.
I closed my eyes and opened them again just as we stopped before the elevator. Pressing the call button I turned to Anthony.
"Well thanks for ruining my date, starting up inappropriate conversation and encouraging me to drink."
"And don't forget the ride home."
"Ah yes, and the ride home."
"You're most welcome." He smirked.
I went to pull away but was stopped as Anthony's grasp tightened on my waist, pulling me towards him. A little shocked I looked up at him and saw his lips coming down towards me.
"Whoa." I pushed Anthony in the chest to gain some space, making him flinch back.
"What?" He frowned down at me in confusion.
"I am not kissing you."
"You're going to have to sooner or later." He winked at me.
"I'll take the later."
Anthony rolled his eyes as the elevator stopped and I entered.
"Goodnight Sky." He smirked at me as I pressed the button to my floor.
"Goodnight Anthony." I gave him a fake smile as the doors shut and cut us off from one another.
