《The Red Sun》Chapter 13

After a while, we found ourselves approaching our village again. Talia said that we'd cover more ground if we ran, and so we ran. I stayed in front, just in case you know. Yet, we ran in silence really. We were both stressed because of our loved ones.
Once we could see our village, it looked like nothing was wrong, aside from a small plume of smoke where my house used to b. It was just then when I realized I had nothing. No house, no belongings, no stuff. Yet, I couldn't let that discourage me. I had a mission, and I had to complete it first try.
Talia finally stopped and asked, "Ok, we're here, what next?"
"I thought you knew!" I exclaimed back.
"What? You were in front so I assumed you knew where to go!"
"I just went in a straight line, the same line you were going in."
"Didn't Calibri tell you where to go?"
I slumped down on a boulder on the edge of the village.
"Well, where could they be?" I asked, and as if as an answer, the ground suddenly shook very violently, and a bright blue beam of...something started coming from the top of the mountain we had been on not an hour ago, shooting straight up into the air.
"Well, I think that pretty much answers our question!"
We started running toward the mountain and into an entrance I had found years before leading straight into a cave system running deep into the stone. I had never gone down it, it was far too dark and the wind going through it put out any torch you try to light. Yet, al Thalia had to do was conjure up a ball of fire, suspending it on her hand and lighting the passage down. It wasn't too long until light of its own started flowing out into the dull passage. We peaked out head around the next corner and what we saw was... amazing.

I could see it was the same cavern I had fallen into not a week before and in it were hundreds of people, all monsters, working to mine, bring materials, and build a huge machine in the center. It could be described a no other way than a monster. It looked like a goliath you might see at a convention being powered by steam. Yet, there was no steam coming out of anywhere, instead, there was a giant blue beam of nothing but power blasting out the top of the chamber. Then, Thalia saw her. It was her mom, stuck in a cage. She was slumped in the back of her box, looking down at the ground in an utter loss of hope.
Yet as soon as she saw this, Talia started running out into the chamber, running along the edge of the circular room, toward Amy's box. I started running after her, trying desperately to get her to duck into one of the tunnels we passed before we got noticed, yet, it was too late. A human suddenly called out and we only had barely enough time to get to Amy's cage before Tarran emerged from one of the dark caves. I quickly looked back to see Thalia trying to burn off the lock of the cage, yet it was only now that I could see Amy's skin was blue with bruises and red with blood, slashes, and what must have been torture. I looked back and saw Cassin standing in front of me, grinning.

The Portals of Albion
Portals to other worlds. Siblings with a secret. A world in need of magic. Zach is haunted, scarred by his time spent in a place that might as well have been hell. Zara, his sister, even more so. After years of torturous experiments, they were finally rescued. But the years since then haven’t been easy. Both siblings just want a break, something to take their minds from the past. The portals that appeared all over the world a hundred years ago are the key. The reason behind years of captivity now holds the answer to their problems. For the second time in his life, Zack awakens as a ‘Traveler’. Someone possessing the ability to pass through these portals and venture into the mystic realms. What begins as a fresh start soon attracts the attention of nobles and those with less savory intentions. When you have known nothing but distrust for those in power, what would you do to remain in control of your life? I will be uploading new chapters on Tuesday and Saturday each week at 4pm Mountain Standard Time. (The story has been described as X-men meets Narnia. Which while not entirely accurate, is still a fun way of looking at it.) (Note: As with my other stories, this one focuses more on the characters than on constant action. The Lite-LitRPG and Gamelit elements are introduced into the story gradually.) Author's Note: This is my raw, mostly unedited text. I am using RR to test out this story as I'm writing it to get a feel for how the published and edited copy will be received. Certain sections of the story will be changed or added to when I publish it as well. How A Villain Builds A Kingdom
READ THE WARNING Amadeus Devereux was born into a rich and powerful household. But he did not pursue power like his brothers because of his love for art, flowers, and poetry. Until one day, a servant arrived in the garden to see Amadeus smiling as if he was looking at a flower. Only this time, Amadeus was looking at the mangled corpses of two gardeners. ————————— Set in a fantasy world where magic exists, follow Amadeus as he embarks on a journey of self-discovery. Will he be able to feel emotions as others do? This is a novel that I wrote because I got tired of all the tropes that had transmigration, regression, deus-ex machina, etc. where everything that makes the main character reach the top is left to luck. —————————

Cast Under Ellitis
Ellitis, a world of sword and magic. Massive in size, with most of its surface unexplored. Where dragons and spirits dwell amongst men and demi-humans, where gods and devils alike barter with mortals and immortals. Beautiful as it might seem, mystical even, Ellitis is not a world for the frail. It is a place where the strong prey upon the weak, and where the weak struggle with every fiber of their being to overthrow the strong. It is here, in an unsuspecting corner of this world, that an unfortunate soul was born an orphan by the mischief of beings untold. Eliot Wyon, formerly known as Eliot Alderman, was just a mediocre engineering student in his past life. Perhaps without any help, this life of his will be just as boring as his last. But throw in an impish ex-goddess to help him along. Maybe, just maybe, he could make this life a bit more interesting. ----------------------------------------**Author's Note**---------------------------------------- Hello Everyone, I am Vi, Cat Vi. This is my first attempt at writing a story. I am a complete beginner at this. The closest thing to an organized story I’ve ever written is essay reports back in high school. There might be syntax errors and weird language all over the place. So, apologies in advance. I’ll be trying my best to make this story as interesting as possible, and with your feedback I am sure I can make something nice out of it. Constructive criticism is appreciated. And you are welcome to comment any errors you might notice. I’ll try to fix them up as soon as I can. For now, I don’t have a schedule. But if the story gets traction, I will try to work something out. **Cover Image Drawn by me.
