𝚃𝚘𝚍𝚊𝚢 𝚖𝚊𝚛𝚔𝚜 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚍𝚊𝚢: 𝚃𝚑𝚎 𝚋𝚎𝚐𝚒𝚗𝚗𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚝𝚘 𝙺𝚊𝚐𝚞𝚛𝚊'𝚜 𝚝𝚛𝚞𝚎 𝚌𝚑𝚊𝚕𝚕𝚎𝚗𝚐𝚎𝚜 𝚝𝚑𝚊𝚝 𝚕𝚊𝚢 𝚊𝚑𝚎𝚊𝚍, 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚜𝚝𝚊𝚛𝚝 𝚝𝚘 𝚑𝚒𝚜 𝚓𝚘𝚞𝚛𝚗𝚎𝚢, 𝚒𝚝 𝚒𝚜 𝚞𝚗𝚌𝚎𝚛𝚝𝚊𝚒𝚗 𝚘𝚏 𝚠𝚑𝚊𝚝 𝚑𝚎 𝚝𝚛𝚞𝚕𝚢 𝚠𝚊𝚗𝚝𝚜 𝚋𝚞𝚝 𝚑𝚎 𝚒𝚜 𝚌𝚎𝚛𝚝𝚊𝚒𝚗 𝚝𝚘 𝚙𝚛𝚘𝚟𝚎 𝚑𝚒𝚜 𝚜𝚝𝚛𝚎𝚗𝚐𝚝𝚑 𝚝𝚘 𝚊𝚕𝚕 𝚝𝚑𝚊𝚝 𝚑𝚊𝚍 𝚍𝚘𝚞𝚋𝚝𝚎𝚍 𝚑𝚒𝚖...

" Ahh.....What the hell..."A young man, seemingly in his late twenties, stood in the center of a market, currently in the noble realm trying to find his way around but somehow lost his way from his original course. " This happens all the time..." he looked around before spotting two teenaged boys who both possessed Grimoires: one was tall, mature, slim as well, with black hair. The other was a bit shorter, with white hair and a black headband, broad and slightly muscular.

' maybe they could help me out here ' the young man thought to himself as he made his way towards the two teenage boys " Excuse me" the man greeted the two which they both starred at him " You two wouldn't happen to be participating in the entry exams are you?" He asked rather politely " Actually we are!" The white hair teen smiled as the man smiled in return, sighing in relief " Thank goodness, would you be so kind as to guide me there, I've seemed to have gotten lost" He chuckled lightly " Sure! " the white haired teen nodded while the black hair termed only eyed the man's grimoire, seeing it was five-leaf just like his friend's ' Odd....' he thought to himself before watching as the two had proceeded ahead, with him following behind them " I'm Asta! I'm aiming to become the Wizard King someday!" The haired teen, Asta, introduced himself and his dream, while the man just hummed in response " My name is Kagura Jaden, please to meet you" The man introduced himself in return " Hey Yuno say hi" Asta grinned as Yuno only just gave Kagura a nod as a greeting. As the three tracked Asta seemed very pumped about trying out for the Magic Knights and going further to become the Wizard King one day, this just made Kagura smile as he felt nostalgia from when was kid like Asta. " Say, no eyes!" Asta grinned as he starred at Kagura; nicknaming him ' no eyes ' due to his eyes being closed since they met which didn't seem to bother Kagura as he just tilted his head just a tad bit and hummed once more in response " Aren't you pumped to do the exams?"Asta asked excitedly which Kagura sighed softly " This is my second time taking it in my life actually, so I'm not that excited....I just have something to prove " he replied as Asta and Yuno before starred at the obvious senior with a bit shock and concern. " But that's not your two's concern" he put hand in bother their shoulders " Just focus on your goals and crave a path to it, tackling any problem head on"Kagura have a smile as his words motivated Asta as well as Yuno, both showing the gratitude with a nod before looking over towards the large colosseum as a sound of horn could be heard throughout the city " It's about to start!" Kagura had hoisted Asta over his shoulder while holding Yuno to his side before darting at incredible speeds towards the colosseum.

Upon reaching the colosseum,Kagura set both males onto their feet, exhaling softly before stretching " it seems we've made it with time to spare" he said watching several lines all around " Seems we have to get our numbers" he added as the three males went onto one of the lines together to receive their numbers. Kagura looked around as he waited in line, seeing many many younglings around ' fresh meat all around not a single experienced mage around or somewhat. ' he sighed to himself '....no matter, I heard this years captains are different from the ones back when I first attempted ' he thought to himself as he realized it was his turn to receive his number from the exam number distributor. After being checked for everything he was given the all clear and his number, which was 270. Kagura exhaled and moved over towards the large crowd who already received their numbers. Ironically he caught glimpse of Asta already bumping into rather large male which that conformation itself put a lot people on edge, which Kagura was going to help Asta but he began to hear mutterings

Kagura had only imagined how powerful this man was as he starred at the rather large man as he was leaving " That's the new Captain of the Black Bull...."Kagura had said to himself before hearing the sounds of flapping, noticing several different birds swarm around the place, one or two land on some, while a whole flock landed upon Asta which made Kagura chuckle although everyone starred towards Yuno and Kagura as both males didn't seem to attract the birds at all. Soon enough the ceremony commenced as upon the balcony that oversaw the entire complex: each of the captains from each Magic Knight Squad had been assembled, catching Kagura's attention '....seems they're more than just powerful but then again...I should expect that from the captains....but...' he looked closer before sighing ' it seems Mereoleona isn't here....I guess she stayed true to her word and didn't take up on father's offer.' Kagura crossed his arms as he began to listen in on opening speech given by the Captain of the Golden Dawn: William Vengeance. Though Kagura tuned out most of the speech he was more concerned about who the current Captain of Crimson Lion was. Which he was caught starring by said Captain, who had his eyes narrowed as he starred back at Kagura " Something wrong Fuegoleon?" The Silva beside him asked " No, just an odd entry caught my, Nozel" Fuegoleon replied to the Silva who simply paid it no mind.

Next thing Kagura knew there was a broom in his hands, which he watched as other participants had already began getting the hang of using the broom, as though Kagura did it with ease, floating high above all the others, even Yuno himself was impressed; they all that he was a natural but in honesty this was indeed his second attempt at this exam with none of the captains being bias towards him and his years of training for this moment, allowed him to shine for once. Kagura sighed softly before looking back towards the ground as he noticed Asta had yet to even levitate off the ground. ' interesting....' were Kagura's exact thoughts on the boy. Next was the accuracy text; various targets had began floating, soaring throughout the air as William gave the task to hit as many as the participants could, and so they did: aiming their Magics to shoot at the targets in the air. Kagura found this to be a tad bit insulting to his true capabilities but nonetheless complied and flicked small balls of fire towards several targets simultaneously as did Yuno with wind, both being competitive at this point.

" ah, it seems that four-leaf boy and another participant are really going at it " the Captain of the Azure Deer commented " Indeed....I'm curious to see just how far their competition will go" the Captain of the Blue Rose replied to the comment. Fuegoleon only had his sights on Kagura, as if he knew the young man from somewhere but he couldn't exactly place his finger on it. Nozel was only interested in the performance and which male had more potential than the other. The Black Bull Captain seemed intrigued just by the fact the they were being more into competition than the rest of kids there. The other captains just waited for the results was all.

Next task was the test the power of a magic blast towards a wall. Many had very destructive dents and cracks into the wall, Yuno almost shattered his, but Kagura completely annihilated the wall in front of him as the was nothing but smoke and ash left behind " Oh?" Kagura had rubbed the back of his head " Maybe I wasn't supposed to do that " he said to himself while Asta starred in awe " So cool!" He blinked while most participants only imagined the amount of strength that Kagura possessed.

Next was creating anything out of magic: again Kagura had outdid himself as he had created a full fire dragon that circled around his body which caught the attention of William now, who was captivated by the dragon's appearance but the more he starred into the dragon's appearance the more potential he saw as well as a story that was told.

Kagura couldn't help but feel a sense of pity towards Asta as even in the last task which was to raise a seed with magic, he still showed no sign of magic at all. " Poor kid..." he said to himself before hearing William speak of the last test, a battle between two to show the magic capabilities between the combinants. Kagura had folded his arms as he saw people pairing up and already battling, luckily for him he didn't have to battle against Asta; as for his thoughts about Asta's battle against Sekke, the young man was glad he didn't battle Asta or he'd be in deep trouble. He would've been fine going against Yuno but alas, Yuno was already taken. He ended up being the last battle, and his luck ran out as his opponent was a water mage, which went against affinity right off the bat.

The two had taken their positions in the center of the large arena, most the Captains wondering Kagura would fair against an affinity that's stronger than his. " Judging by your look, you must be rather nervous, battling against a superior affinity to yours" the mage spoke in a rather cocky demeanor before Kagura simply smiled " No, I'm just thinking of how to get to your blind spot " DONT GET SO HIGH!" The mage shouted at Kagura as he unleashed a spell of several water arrows which began to fire upon Kagura unrelentingly creating smoke as the amount arrows that had hit him also hit the area around him. The mage had stopped their arrow barrage and panted softly " How'd you like that!" The mage smirked before the smoke cleared and a ripple in the air in front of Kagura " that was cute....but let me show you real power....ZABIMARU!" A handle had stuck out of the rift as he grabbed it and unleashed an odd looking sword, and point it towards The mage.

" So you have a sword?" The mage began laughing as well as the other participants " What's a sword gonna do when I have the range advantage!" The mage has began to fire more water arrows towards Kagura who simply had exhaled softly and slowly opened his eyes and opened his mouth

He spoke and a rather large gorilla arm had began to float above his shoulder scaling down his right arm while in his left hand he held his blade, Zabimaru; which gained a gauntlet resembling the top portion of a snake's skull, with a cowl of red fur surrounding its base. A long, bony tail composed of vertebra-like structures protrudes from the back of the skull, trails behind him and hangs around his waist like a loose sash. There was also a large cowl of light fur that hangs down from his left shoulder. Additionally, he gained a pair of pauldrons that formed an armored collar, as well as additional vertebral cords that hang down from his waist.

Kagura then used the ape arm to block all the water arrows that were directed at him as he charged towards the mage " W-What is that thing?!" The water mage shouted as they tired to cast a stronger spell, but by the time they looked up, it was too late as Kagura had bashed the arm into their stomach which made them gasp for air before the arm and snake head vanished and it was just the blade once more " I'll show you not to underestimate me! Zabimaru! Shikai!" He shouted as the segmented sword began to break into eight pieces, a whip basically

He began to spin his whip blade around his body in a circular motion which since he was in the mages face; the last segment had caught shoulder of the mage pulling them into Kagura's left hand's grip " Hadō thirty-one: Shakkahō!" He shouted the incantation of his attack, which created a small red ball of fire into Kagura's left palm, before a large explosion erupted right in the center of the two which created smoke. The crowd had all starred with wide shocked expressions. Asta has blinked a bit as he never heard of magic like Kagura's, let alone someone who could use multiple magics like that: Yuno had narrowed his eyes as he knew if they were both knocked out then that'd be a problem for when it was time to be picked; a suicidal spell like that wouldn't be something most captains would want out in the field of battle. As the smoke cleared Kagura had stood there with his sword against his shoulder, baring so scratch marks and tattered clothing while his opponent laid on the ground unconscious, Kagura then closed his eyes once again and sighed " Well that could've gotten worse " Kagura muttered as he pushed his sword back into a ripple in the air as it vanished.

Hours after the final task, it was the moment of truth for all the young mages there, to be picked by a captain and join a squad. Many were declined the offer and told to try again next year, some got in. Yuno had gotten all nine Captains to stand for him, wanting to pick him; although he choose Golden Dawn. Kagura had smiled seeing Asta get picked by The Black Bull Captain, Yami. When came down his turn, he felt a bit nervous as he heard murmurs around him about not being picked do to his risk spell earlier, but that was quickly disproven as when he took the center stage, he saw all the Captains standing for him, which William seemed the most interested although what Kagura said next shocked everyone entirely. He opened his eyes once again and starred at all the Captains, starring William in the eyes as he said his words with pride.
