" No!No!No!No! Sweetie that's not for you to be playing with " Leonidas' wife Meridian had panicked and quickly swatched away a knife that Kagura was flailing around like a toy, which triggered the boy to start sniffling as he realized he had done something wrong " Jaden upset Mama...." he said quietly which his adoptive mother had picked up the six-year-old with one arm and put the knife on the counter " No, Mama's not upset. She was just concerned about her baby's safety, playing with sharp items can lead you to get hurt" Meridian kissed Kagura's forehead and sighed softly " B-But Papa plays with sharp weapons all the time..."The boy replied with a small pout which his mother only giggled as she began walking out the kitchen with her son in her arms " That's only because Papa is older and more experienced, he has to know how to use those sharp items, so he can protect us and the kingdom" She smiled, watching as her son's facial expression only lightened as he understood what she saying to some extent " I wanna be like Papa when grow up!" He said happily " I'm sure you'll make a fine man just like Papa" Meridian replied as she entered the children's play room within the Vermillion household, where she placed Kagura down watching him run over to a basket that held all the toys and hand-me-down toys that he shared with his older siblings. Meridian had walked over to a small sofa and sat down, keeping watch over her son as she watched him play with a some monster plushies that did spike every time they were poked on the head, saying many phrases. Meridian only giggled watching Kagura try and act like her husband: trying to do his spell castings (which nothing happen), trying to sound like him, even acting as if he were battling against monsters ( ironically the plushies) this scene only made Meridian happier. About an hour passed before Leonidas had looked into the room " I'm back " he announced as he entered the room, along with the other two Vermillion children, Mereoleona and Fuegoleon " Onee-Chan! Onii-Chan!" Kagura was absolutely delighted as he ran over to his older siblings and hugged them both. The twelve-year-old Mereoleona had sighed softly as she looked down at her younger adopted brother " We weren't even gone for that long " she said " Stop being so clingy" she added as the ten-year-old Fuegoleon only patted Kagura's head " He can't help but miss is sometimes, he's only six Mereoleona " he replied as Jaden nuzzled against his older brother's hand " Yeah, well he needs grow out of it, I'm not always gonna stick around and babysit him" Mereoleona replied

" welcome home dear " Meridian smiled as Leonidas sat beside her " How was your visit with Sir Bakura?" She asked and Leonidas only chuckled " He's still as interesting as ever I'll say that " He replied to his wife " Although he wanted me to bring Jaden by next time we went out " Leonidas added which Meridian's facial expression had became wary " Are you sure taking Jaden out is a good idea, you know that other nobles don't exactly like him being around " she spoke quietly so the kids didn't hear " I know how you feel about their opinion but we can't just keep him locked up here forever he needs to be able to mature and grow like the other two" Leonidas replied to his wife as he watched as Mereoleona had showed off a bit of her fire magic to Kagura, being careful not to set something a blaze " Onee-Chan it's pretty!" Kagura clapped his hands together as Mereoleona only grinned " That's nothing" She gloated as Fuegoleon only sighed softly.
" He looks up to them " Leonidas said as Meridian held his hand and nodded " and I hope one day, they'll all be able to adventure together, not just as Magic Knights or simple mages, but as a true family" Leonidas smiled softly at his kids " I hope so too" Meridian nodded

" oh my, look at you " Acier applauded Kagura as she watched the ten-year-old produce a small flame in the palms of his hands. The birthday boy was sitting on his mother's lap as she giggled seeing how amazed he was with his newly founded ability. The house of Vermillion were rather prideful of Kagura's growth and their Silva guest could only feel the pride of the Lion kingdom. " I wonder if he'll be strong like Mereoleona" Nozel had commented " He'll definitely be strong as me, I'll make sure of it!" Mereoleona had said aloud with a laugh as Kagura only smiled happily before looking towards Fuegoleon and Mereoleona " I'm gonna be just like you!" He smiled happily and Fuegoleon only smiled back while Mereoleona had put her fist against Kagura's forehead, causing him to blink a bit while everyone just starred at the two " No, don't be like us" Mereoleona had gave a soft smile " I want you to be better than us" She told him which her younger brother had nodded quickly " Hai! "

Kagura, who had just turned fourteen had just finished up his daily training session with his mother, his older siblings were already Magic Knights both in Crimson Lion which wasn't really surprising as they went on missions consecutively with their father which Kagura wasn't able to see them too much. As far as siblings goes he had taken the four-year-old Noelle under his wing after seeing how bad she was treated. He was currently taking a stroll through town her as well.
"Onii-Chan..." Kagura blinked a couple times as he heard the little girl speak to him as she held his hand while they walked " Hm?" He hummed in response " D-Do you hate me?" She asked quietly " No, Onii-Chan can't hate you Noelle" he smiled warmly to her which made her smile in return " Really?!" She asked excitedly " Really" he nodded as he walked with her, he then picked her up and held her with one arm " Noelle, I want you to make Onii-Chan a promise" he spoke softly " Hai." Noelle nodded " In a couple of days, Onii-Chan is going to turn fifteen, which means he's get a grimoire , and no matter what happens; if Onii-Chan makes it into the magic Knights or not....promise that you will grow up strong and elegant like your mother " he said and Noelle starred at him as she seemed confused of why he was telling her this but nonetheless she nodded " I promise Onii-Chan!" She smiled to Kagura " Good girl" he stroked her head with his free hand

I learned that day, even with my lack of strength; my calm and caring nature, my dream to be just like my siblings.
None of it mattered, I would never be able to become a Magic Knight, ever since I could remember, that lesson was drilled into my head.
No matter how much I dreamed and dreamed, my fantasies would never be a reality.
So I left the noble realm, if I'm not use to them, I thought I'd be of use to those who are more humble out in the forsaken lands who only dream of Magic Knights to protect them.
" Onii-Chan!" The call of a crowd of villages children could be heard as a grown Kagura walked towards the village holding two dead wild boars over his shoulders. He chuckled as he was surrounded by the children " Young ones, have you been behaving?" He asked as they all nodded and smiled
That was my life, twenty-three and taking care of small village doing all I could to help. I lived there for at least five years, it was finally fully happy, we all were family, the father of church, the sister, all the adults and children: they accepted me for me and not because of some myth that the five leaf clover would destroy anything. For them I was just a mage who had string capabilities, I handled all the heavy loads and task while the sister cooked the meals and the father had made peace with surrounding villages, the adults usually tended the cattle and fields leaving me with babysitting of the children which I didn't mind. I wished that life lasted, but as fate would have it, my new founded family was soon was destroyed along with my new home....
" Onii..............Chan........"
That was the only thing he heard, the dying breath of one the children he swore to protect. The village left in shambles, destroyed beyond repair, Kagura was with wounds that needed skilled medical attention, while the rest of villages were either mutilated, missing, or burnt to bones. And so there he lie, a broken man, with broken dreams, and a diminished will to live, but as he was giving up, he heard a voice, and when he looked up he saw an ominous figure just smiling at him
" Have you learned yet......oh your cursed fate?" This figure asked as Kagura couldn't response " You were abandoned twice in your life already.......do you want to make it three times?......you were weak....and pathetic........but....what you lack is power.......the desire to wipe anyone who challenges you off the face of lands........I can give you that power......for I am you...and you are me" It starred down at Kagura " In this world......"

Fallout: Vault X
An original novel set in the Fallout universe, written to be accessible to all, featuring unique people and places. Vol.II. out now Fallout: Vault X tells the story of John. A vault dweller, who spent every day of his twenty five years underground. Like his father, and his father before him. Proud to live in the last remaining bastion of humanity, all that survived The Great War of the atomic age. Hidden deep below the surface of the earth, toiling under brutal conditions. Year after year, decade upon decade. All to expand into the natural cave system the Vault occupied, building for the future. However, John knew what his forefathers did not, that everything he’d been taught was a lie. After finishing school at the age of ten, John received his standard issue pipboy. An arm mounted personal computer, worn by everyone in the Vault. Used to coordinate the relentless pace of expansion, needed to work as an apprentice. To learn the craft that would be his life’s work. A noble calling to ensure a future for all that remained of the human race. A quirk of fate saw John equipped not with the crude, clunky, pipboy model his father wore. That almost everyone around him wore. His looked smaller, sleeker, finished in a jet black sheen. And capable of doing far more than its drab counterparts. The world above had been ravaged by atomic flames, yet life clung to its bones. The Red Valley fared better than most in the century since the bombs fell. The clean water and rich soil protected by rolling hills. All spared from direct strikes, for the most part. Life survived here. Trees spawned from charred ground, misshapen, green leaves turned red. Along with simple crops, grown wild at first, then cultivated by the survivors. The scavengers of the old world were inventive, hardy people. All determined to rebuild in the ruins of a world they never knew. In the decades that passed settlements emerged. They grew, spreading along the valley floor. Reclaiming the pre-war remnants of the once industrialised heartland. Salvaging the robotic wonders of a bygone age to build their walls and work their fields. To protect them in the dark of the wasteland. But such things are uncommon in this world, and the rarer something is, the greater its value. And the worth of pre-war technology had not gone unnoticed. The last, real, power in this world rested in the mechanised hands of The Brotherhood of Steel. Forged from the mortally wounded old world military. The Brotherhood used its access to the weapons made for a conflict no one won to strike out into the wastes. Men and women were equipped with advanced armour, aerial transportation, high grade weaponry. Accompanied by the training, strength, and will, to put them to use. They established chapters and set up outputs far and wide. All dedicated to a single purpose. To ensure the technology left abandoned by its long dead creators didn’t fall into the wrong hands. Namely, any hands that were not their own. This is the world John escaped into. A place of horrors brought forth from atomic fire. A place where survival meant battling against the darkness. Fighting a war each day to get to the next. And war...war never changes
