"goodnight daddy" you mumbled
"Goodnight baby, i love you" your dad, Shawn replied, kissing your head and pulling the duvet over your small body before going to do the same to your twin Sophia. He gently walked out the room turning the light off and pulling the door shut. You fell asleep and snuggled further into your teddy.
You woke up painting and had sweat dripping down your face while tears streamed down your face. You looked around and quietly got out of bed before walking down the hall to your parents room. You opened the door and saw the lamp beside their bed was on and they were talking to each other. You stood in the doorway, clutching your teddy bear and blanket to your chest and wiped your cheeks with the back of your hand.
"Daddy?" you whimpered. His head turned to your direction.
"y/n? What are you doing out of bed?"
"The monsters are coming to get me and... and they already ate mummy and sophia. Wait is mummy okay?" you whispered before rushing over to your mums side of the bed and climbing on to the bed. You put your hands on either side of her face.
"Mummy are you ok?"
"I'm fine, baby girl. The monsters didn't get me or your sister and they aren't coming to get you either, i promise."
"Can i sleep in here tonight? please?"
"Okay. just for tonight though"
Your dad got out of bed and picked your bunny and blanket up before climbing into bed. He laid down and gently pulled you into the middle of the bed and wrapped his arm around you before handing you your bear and putting the blankets on you both. You snuggled into his side as your mum turned the lamp off.

"Goodnight Shawn. Goodnight y/n" your mum said softly.
"Goodnight love" your dad replied
"Goodnight mommy and daddy" you said.
You laid there, snuggled up to your dad's side while they slept.
"Daddy? Are you awake?" You whispered.
"Mhmm, what's up?" He groaned.
"Are the monsters gonna come in here next?"
"What? Baby no. I promise you there are no monsters. Daddy would never let anyone or anything hurt you or mummy or Sophia okay? Why don't you go to sleep and I'll be right here. Nothing can hurt you when I'm around okay?" He told you, stroking the back of your head.
"Okay daddy. I love you"
"I love you too"
After that you fell asleep in your dads arms and from that night, you knew he'd always protect you.
