Amelia -12 (Millie)
Arabella -12 (Bella )
mum - Camila
~you fail a school test~
Arabella's pov:
I smiled at Amelia as we met at the front of the school at the end of the day.
"Hey Millie"
"Hey Bella"
"What did you get in your maths test?"
"I uh got 14 marks" She mumbled.
"14?! It was out of 60, did you even study like we were supposed to?"
"A little. What did you get? And less on the judgement Bella"
"Sorry I was just surprised. I got uh 55 marks"
It was quiet for a while as we walked the way home. I saw her pushed a strand of her dark brown hair out of her face before asking,
"Do you think mum and dad will be mad at me?"
"I think they'll be upset for a little bit maybe a couple hours at most and then they'll calm down and try help you get better at math"
"Okay"
We reached home soon and she went straight to her room after shouting hello to our parents.
"Hey dad, hey mum"
"Hey Bella" they replied
"What's for dinner?"
"We might go get a takeout. Is there something wrong with Millie?" Mum asked
"It's not my place to say"
"Okay we got your report cards back for maths today. You did so well Bella!"
"Thank you dad"
"I'll be back down in a bit I'm just going to see your sister" dad said after a minute
"Shawn, don't go to hard on her" mum warned him.
He left the kitchen and went upstairs leaving me and my mum sat at the kitchen island.
"Is it about her report card in maths?" I asked
"Yeah. I thought she would've studied for it but I guess she didn't."

"Yeah" we kept on talking until we heard dad shouting upstairs.
Amelia's pov:
I went straight to my bedroom after shouting a 'hello' to my parents. I threw my bag down by my door and sat on my chair and span around on it. I bit my lip and pulled my phone out and going on Instagram. I laughed as I saw the group chat I was in with my friends. I was so caught up with my phone I didn't notice my door open until it was closed loudly. I jumped and turned around.
"Hi dad, are you okay?"
"14 out of 60 Amelia! Did you even study for your math exam?! Because your sister did and she got almost all of them right!"
"I-I'm sorry dad."
"Your grounded until you improve your grade. No going out, to school and straight back unless your with me and your mum. You are going to focus on studying more for school or you will be getting a tutor at home. You are going to stay in your room for the rest of the evening Without your phone"
"But dad-"
"No. But nothing. I don't want to see you for the rest of the evening"
"Okay dad, I'm really sorry"
And with that he took my phone and left my room. I collapsed on my bed and let silent tears roll down my face.
Shawns pov:
I didn't think I was too hard on her. I only wants what's best for her and I want her to have a good future which means getting good grades. I sat down on the sofa and put my head in my hands.
"Shawn?" Camila said softly
"Did I go too far with it?"
"A little but she needs to know she has to study for school better."

I nodded and and Arabella came in the living room and began watching a film. After the film ended Camila went to check on Amelia and came back down not a minute later I stood up as she walked in, "is she okay?"
"She's asleep Shawn"
"She won't hate me after today right?"
"Of course not Shawn. You and her have always been close. I doubt this will ruin that"
"I'm gonna go get some dinner" I said after a while of silence.
"Okay just get the usual orders"
"I will. Love you I'll be back soon"
"Love you"
I then left to go get our dinner.
Amellia's pov:
I woke up and realised I must've fell asleep. I sat up in my bed and saw it was dark. My attention soon turned to food when my stomach rumbled. I climbed out of bed and quietly went down stairs. As I got to the bottom I saw my dad in the living room with his guitar and paper in front of him. I sighed as I remembered what happened earlier. I really didn't want him to be mad at me but he already is.
"Amelia? Is that you?"
"Yeah it's me"
"Are you okay?"
"Just a bit hungry dad" I replied stepping into the living room in my pyjamas.
"There's some leftover pizza in the fridge but there's not much."
"Oh"
"Or we can go out on a drive and grab a late McDonald's and we can talk"
I smiled as he suggested it.
"Yeah we can do that"
He got up and put his phone and keys in his pocket and put his shoes and coats on while I did the same. I grabbed my phone and slid it in my pocket.
~20 minutes later~
We were sat in the car with McDonalds.
"So can we talk about earlier, love"
"I guess. I am really sorry for getting a bad grade"
"It's okay. You are still young and make mistakes sometimes and It isn't really an important test. And I'm sorry for shouting at you earlier, I just want what's best for you and after Bella explained it wasn't an important test I realised I overreacted"
"It's okay, I love you dad"
"I love you too Millie, I always will no matter what you do or happens"
He leant over and kissed my cheek before he began to drive home where we watched a movie and I fell asleep in his arms on the couch
