《My one and only ( Fred Weasley fanfic)》26. The Yule Ball

Freds POV ✨
I sat with Jess and Lee in the Great Hall still half asleep. Today is the yule ball so I am a bit nervous. I want Jess to feel like a princess when she walks into the hall tonight. She deserves the world.
"Enjoying your breakfast Freddie?"
I looked over at Jess who was looking between me and my empty plate. I wasn't too hungry so had just had a plain slice of bread and orange juice. "Don't worry I'm fine, I'm just not too hungry." I responded and wrapped my arm round her waist, making her blush.
"Okay but make sure you eat a good amount at lunch then." She replied still looking down at her plate. I could tell she was trying to hide her peach red face.
"What are we talking about here." George practically appeared out of nowhere and sat down next to Lee.
"Nothing really. Where's that girlfriend of yours?" Lee asked as George chugged a pint of orange juice. "Getting ready." He replied and shook his head frantically muttering "brain freeze." For some reason George always got brain freeze from drinking a lot of something all at once, entertaining to watch that's for sure.
"Already?" Jess spoke up. "It doesn't take that long to get ready surely." The three of us shrugged in response to Jess's comment
"You're asking the wrong people love." I pulled Jess closer and kissed her on the forehead.
It feels great not having to hide our relationship any longer.

Jess's POV ✨
I sat on my bed with Ginny waiting for Hermione to come to the dorm. We arranged to start getting ready at 2:30 and it was 2:45. "Where the hell is she?" Ginny practically yelled making me jump out my skin. "I have no idea probably with Ron or at the-" Before I could continue I was interrupted my the dorm door swinging open.

"HEY BITCHES!" Hermione ran into the room and catapulted herself on top of us both. "Hermione! Where the hell where you?" Ginny yelled in response. She is always angry when she is being kept waiting too long.
"Your brother. That's where I was." She replied and got off us much to my relief. "He gave me this." She held out a blue Rose that was just like the ones he got her when he asked her to the Yule Ball.
"Couple goals." Ginny stated as she took out her dress from the closet. Hermione giggled in response and hopped off my bed to also get her dress out the closet.
"I can believe you are both dating my brothers." Ginny said as she straightened her hair.
"who wouldve thought..." I sighed as I thought about Fred. He looked really nervous this morning at breakfast.
"Earth to Jess!" Ginny waved her hand infront of my face taking me away from my thoughts. "You good?" She asked as she returned back to the mirror where she was previously doing her makeup.
"Yeah, just worried about Fred," I replied as I slipped on my dress and parted my hair for Hermione to zip up.
"He's fine don't worry. I heard he wants you to feel like a princess." Hermione added as she zipped up my dress. He really cares about me. I care about him too.

We made our way to the ball, excited for the night ahead. We reached the top of the steps and made our way down one by one. It seemed as though all eyes were on us three as we gracefully descended the stairs to our prom dates.
"Bloody hell Mione! You look great!" Ron's smile he had before quickly grew as he saw the the blue rose he gave her earlier that day tucked neatly in her hair.
Ginny and Harry were quickly ushered away to stand with the other three champions and their dates.

"Hello my love." Fred smiled down at me and offered me his hand which I gladly took, "It would be an understatement to call you extremely gorgeous." I giggled and kissed him on the cheek before we walked into the hall hand in hand.
The champions then filed into the hall with their dates. I gave Ginny a quick wink as she and Harry got ready to dance. Although Harry's footwork was horrific, Ginny knew exactly what she was doing and put him into place.
It was soon everyone else's turn to join the dance floor. Fred practically drags me to an empty spot and puts on hand on my waist as I place a hand on his shoulder and we both intertwine our hands, beginning to dance in sync with everyone else.
As time went on the place began to get a bit quieter and the music was slow as the remaining people swayed from side to side in circles. Hermione and Ron left half an hour ago and Ron told us not to go to Hermione's dorm, which means Ginny and I will be kicked out for the night as they do unholy things.
"I love you so much princess." Fred whispered into my ear as we were swaying side to side on the dance floor. "Do you want to head back to my dorm? Since you've been kicked out of your own?" He sniggered as I lifted up my head from his chest and nodded.
All of a sudden the big bell struck twelve and without any warning Fred smashed his lips onto mine giving me a strong rush of adrenaline. "Merry Christmas my love." He smiled at me but this time it wasn't his usual goofy smile, it was more of a charming and loving smile that made me smile widely back.
We then walked out the hall and as soon as we reached the staircase, he lifted me up bridal style and carried me up the stairs and back to the common room.
As we were just about to go up the stairs to the boys dormitories, Fred leaned his head down and connected his lips with mine, still carrying me.
He began walking up the steps, still kissing me and made his way to his dorm. "I love you." He whispered as we stopped in front of his dorm door.
"I love you too Freddie." I whispered back, still in his arms as he somehow managed to open the dorm door and take me over to his bed which much to my surprise was neatly made.
"I guessed you'd be here tonight so I tidied my bed." Fred said proudly as he closed the door and made his way to the closet in the far corner of the room.
He then took out a red hoodie and white joggers and made his way back over to his bed where I was sitting taking my hair out. "Right my darling, let's get you changed out of this beautiful dress of yours."
I moved my hair from my back so Fred could unzip my dress. I then felt the fabric slip down my body, leaving me in my pants and a strapless bra.
"Look at my beautiful girl, being gorgeous as always." He smiled and pulled the hoodie over my head and let me put on the joggers. He then pulled me into a tight hug and threw the duvet over us.
"Goodnight my gorgeous lady." Fred kissed my nose and buried his face into the crook of my neck, wrapping his arms round my waist.
"Goodnight." I whispered back and kissed the top of his head. I thought about the magical night I just had with the love of my life as I slowly nodded off.
