Jessica's POV ✨

I sat in the common room doing my transfiguration homework while listening to the rain fall outside. Why on earth does Professor Mcgonogall insist on us writing in our 'own words'. I quickly turned my attention away from my 'the history of strategic transfiguration' book as I heard the twins walking into the common room.

"I'm telling you Fred, if you had just listened to Hermione-"

"You were in on it too!"

I closed my books and stuffed them into my satchel before walking over to the bickering brothers. "Hey guys what are you arguing about now?" I looked between the two boys who seemed to be acting like the world had just come to an end.

"Fred and I attempted to put our names into the goblet of fire using an ageing potion. But we failed." George explained how they managed to get past the age line and got as far as putting their names in until it went horribly wrong.

"After a few seconds, our names shot back out the goblet and we were catapulted across the room" Fred continued, "Then our hair begun to grow longer and turn white and we grew beards. We then rolled around the floor fighting and I won."

"So how long were you two rolling around the floor for?" I managed to say between fits of giggles.

"A good few minutes before a dung-bomb fell out of Fred's pocket. That's why he claims that he won." George glared at his brother who flipped him off in response.

"Why don't we just calm down. Eh? Because right now you're acting like a bunch of first years." I said while lifting my satchel over my head and taking out two pumpkin pasties handing them one each. "And please empty your pockets more often to check for dung-bombs Freddie." I stood up and made my way to the exit of the common room.

"Where are you going?" Fred stood up and walked towards me.

"Oh nowhere, I'm just going for a walk." I smiled up at him, admiring his features. "You can come with me if you like," Fred nodded and I turned round and asked George if he wanted to come too but he just politely refused and went up to his dorm. I gave Fred a worried look but he didn't seem to be bothered.

We talked as we walked down the corridors and headed outside. The sun was just starting to set and it was all different shades of purple, pink and orange. The rain had stopped by the time we went out and the wind was blowing softly in our faces.

We stopped and sat down at the edge of the black lake, looking out at the view in front of us. Now was the time to ask. I needed to know what it meant to him.

"Freddie, what did the kiss mean to you? You know, the one that happened the morning after I broke up with Patrick." I blurted out, just wanting to get the awkward question over with.

"Well to me, it felt like a billion butterflies were flying around inside me. I didn't want the moment to end. I have always wanted to kiss you Jessica Wood, ever since the day I realised." Fred looked at me his eyes locking onto mine.

"Realised what?" I whispered. Not taking my eyes off his. He paused for a second before whispering back.

Before I could realise what I was doing, I wrapped my arms around his neck and pressed my lips against his. He really does want me. We can't tell anyone though. Not even Hermione and Ginny.

After a few seconds I pulled away looking down at my fingers as I felt my cheeks heat up trying ignore the shocked yet overjoyed expression Fred was giving me.

"So... what does this make us?" I looked up at Fred's flawless face.

"Well, whatever you want us to be," Fred grinned at me, lifting his left hand and brushing his fingers through my hair.

"Well I would love you to be my boyfriend, but, I don't think we should tell anyone, not even George." I explained why I think it's best to keep our relationship secret for now, mainly the fact that people would start saying I am a player for dating Fred less than a week after breaking up with Patrick.

"You're right, I don't want anyone to start calling you a slut and other untrue statements." Fred smiled at me, "don't you think we should go back now?"

I nodded and got up from my spot on the mossy grass and took Fred's hand.

Merlins beard that did not just happen! I'm now dating Fred Weasley!
