《A Twist to Our Futures (Killua X OCs X Gon)》Chimera Ant - Chapter 22

The five of us continued running through the forest, climbing on rocks as we go.

After defeating the centipede ant with Gon, I felt more confident than before, and that I could be able to kill more ants if I had to.

"We're surrounded." Kite spoke up. "Their numbers are big."

We kept quiet as we checked our surroundings for any nearby ants. Suddenly, something crashed on the ground in front of us, creating dust that swirled around us. Standing in the dust was a frog.

"Now then, shall we decide the order and how we kill you? We'll give you three choices. One, decide the order in which you'll fight. Two, try to escape. Three, surrender and let us capture you. If you choose option one, you will fight us in a one-on-one battle. You may even survive. I don't recommend choosing option two, because that will be annoying to us and you will suffer more as a result. If you choose option three, that is the worst choice you could ever make. That would make us even angrier than option two." The frog explained.

The dust cleared up, revealing other Chimera Ants that were with him. One of them laughed, and several others followed along.

"So, what will it be?" The frog asked.

"Kite." Gon whispered, and the said man turned to him.

"We couldn't have asked for a better deal. One-on-one fights with their officers. Whoever is ready to fight will go first." Kite stated.

"I'll go first." Killua said.

"No, I'll go." Gon spoke up, and both boys grunted, facing each other with displeased looks.

"Show me rock! Rock, paper, scissors!" They yelled, and Gon won with rock against scissors.

"Wow. Who knows when you'll ever beat him?" Lynn muttered, and Killua sulked over his defeat.

I watched as Gon stepped up to fight one of the officers, looking serious as usual.

"Alright. I'm going first." He declared.

We stared at the ants in alarm, wondering about how strong they were compared to us.

"Let's see which one of us goes first." A Chimera Ant that looked like a dog announced. A ladybug ant shook a can and a piece of paper came out.

"Number six! Where are you?" The dog ant shouted.

An armadillo-like ant stepped up, smirking as he peered at Gon. My eyes were wide as they lingered on the strange ant.

"Baro, is it?" The frog ant said.

"How do we know if it's over?" Gon asked.

"Isn't it obvious? Whoever loses first dies." The ant named Baro replied.

"So, we can't surrender?"

"What?"

The other ants gasped in surprise at the boy's question.

"Are you crazy? If you lose, then we're gonna feed you to the Queen. The only way you're getting out of this alive is that if you defeat me." Baro explained.

"That's fine with me. But you don't have to die if you lose. If I win, I won't eat you." Gon asserted, and Baro growled.

"If you surrender, I'll let you live. But you have to promise me that you'll never eat humans again."

One of the Chimera Ants laughed. "He doesn't know who he's dealing with."

"He's got more spunk than any prey I've seen." The ant next to him snickered.

"You're so lucky, Baro." Another ant remarked.

"You're dead!" Baro yelled as he rolled himself towards Gon, who dodged the attack. The ant crashed into a tree, thus knocking it down.

"Damn it! You did dodge that one!" He growled, and Gon only stood there acting like that was nothing.

"Fine! How about this?" Baro rolled into a ball and tried the same attack again. Gon dodged again, but Baro used his tail to change direction and struck the boy, sending him crashing into a tree.

"Oh no!" I cried.

"Gon!" Killua shouted.

"I'm fine." I heard him say as he stood up, not feeling much pain from the attack.

"What? How are you so tough? Come on! Every other human puked their guts out!" Baro taunted, and Gon took some time to recover himself.

"Whatever. I could do this for as long as I want, but you'll never dodge all my homing attacks!" He laughed at the spiky-haired boy, who didn't move from his spot.

That's right. He'll just change his direction to wherever Gon is dodging to attack him. If I were to fight him, I would have my guts puked out by now.

"Let me tell you one thing before I kill you. We don't kill humans just so we can eat them, or at least feed them to the Queen."

"Then why?" Gon asked, anger clear in his tone.

"Because it's fun! I love the sound of humans puking their guts out with a plop." He admitted, imitating gagging sounds and laughing. "It makes me laugh whenever I hear it!"

I cringed. What a cruel, sadistic bastard!

"That isn't funny." Gon grunted softly.

Baro's twisted smile dropped, and he formed into a ball again. "I'll make you vomit your organs out with a plop, too!"

He charged at Gon once again with his spinning attack, and Gon increased his aura greatly. The ant was about to attack him when suddenly, he was caught in Gon's arms, shocking the rest of the Chimera Ants. I stood in my spot with my eyes wide, shocked as the ants.

"Compared to Razor's spikes, this is nothing but a piece of cake!" Gon yelled, straining to crush the ant with his bare hands. I heard Baro screaming in pain as he was being crushed by the boy.

After he was dead, Gon threw the body at a tree, breaking the shell at the end. The other Chimera Ants began murmuring, not believing what they just saw.

"Alright. We're in a hurry, so can I fight now?" Killua asked, smiling innocently.

"Who's next?" The frog ant turned to the ladybug ant, who shook the can to reveal a number.

"Number three! Come out, number three!" The dog ant shouted, and a rhinoceros ant stepped up. He had two horns on his head and two more along his snout and has shaggy dark blue hair.

"Settle down. You're being too cocky. I'm gonna show you what hell looks like! Don't compare me with trash like him!" He pointed at the dead Baro next to the infuriated Gon.

"Trash?" Gon grunted.

"Yeah! I call them like I see them. Got a problem with that?" The rhino ant spat at him, and he grunted again.

"Come on. I'm ten times stronger than that guy." He boasted.

"Okay. So, not much, then?" Killua casually replied, not caring about the unimportant fact.

"What the hell did you just say?" He snapped.

They got ready to fight, and Killua dodged every one of the ant's attacks. He tried to stab him with his sharpened claws, but they wouldn't even get through his skin. Therefore, he ripped a part of his outfit.

"Sorry, but my skin is super hard to stab through." The ant laughed.

Killua used his lightning to try to stun him, but it was ineffective.

"You can try all you want. I can take all those attacks you've got." He taunted.

"Oh, really?" Killua disappeared and started attacking him with his lightning many times. The rhino ant attempted to land a punch, but missed. Killua reappeared and stabbed him using his sharp nails, causing blue liquid to splatter on the ground. The ant collapsed, no longer alive.

"Is there anyone who's ten times stronger than him?" Killua asked, and the ants murmured to each other.

"How about I go next? You've had enough 'fun.'" I said, quoting the word 'fun.'

"Who's next?" The frog ant asked, and the ladybug ant shook the can, revealing the next number.

"Number eight! Where are you, number eight?" The dog ant called the number, and a boar-like ant stepped up, looking very pissed from witnessing his comrades' deaths.

"Hey, little girl. Are you ready? 'Cause I'm gonna tear you to shreds, and you better not be cocky about it! I'm way faster and stronger than those two losers! I'll give you a real fight!" He screamed, preparing to attack me.

"Very well." I firmly stated, and activated my aura. The boar ant charged at me, and I easily dodged the attack, causing him to crash into a tree.

"Damn you! Take this!" He yelled, and with such great speed, he struck me in the gut using his own head, and I was sent flying a couple of feet.

"Lizzy!" Lynn shouted.

The boar ant laughed maniacally as I slowly got up, pain taking over the area where he hit me. I grunted as I gave him a cold glare.

"Boom! That must have hurt! Come on, fight me if you can!" He shouted.

I increased my aura and began to charge at him. I attacked him many times, but it seemed like he wasn't taking any damage no matter how powerful my attacks were. I was getting angry and frustrated, so I jumped up and placed my arms around his neck, desperately trying to choke him.

"Hey! Get off me, you damn little brat!" He yelled, grabbing me by the neck. He threw me a couple of feet away from him, and I groaned in pain.

Oh God, he is tough. How am I supposed to beat him if I can't deal any damage? Unless...maybe I don't have to use any physical attacks.

I stood up and glared at the boar ant, thinking about my plan. I was certain it would work. I couldn't prove it otherwise.

"Come on! Take me down already! I'm not just gonna stand here all night!" He screamed.

"Fine. But you will have to attack me first." I bluntly replied, causing him to grow more angry.

"Why you!" He shouted, charging at me once again.

I got ready to execute my plan. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath, the screaming of the boar ant filling my ears. When it was loud enough, I opened them to reveal two sweet-looking, innocent emerald green orbs sparkling beautifully. When he saw them, the ant stopped running and gazed into them for a long time.

Pink aura shrouded my eyes and the ant, causing the other Chimera Ants to gasp in shock.

"Whoa!" One of them exclaimed.

"What is she doing?" Another one shouted out.

"Y-yes, my lady?" The manipulated ant stuttered.

"Could you stand still for me, please?" I asked, and he nodded rapidly.

"Take this!" I yelled, jumping up to punch him in the face. All Chimera Ants gasped and began murmuring to each other as I stopped using my ability and repeatedly punched his face. I realized that was his weak spot, so I focused all of my aura into my fist and delivered the final blow, punching a hole through his face. Blue liquid got on my fist and the ground, and the ant fell down, finally dead.

"Eww! What the heck is this stuff?!" I exclaimed, shaking my hand to get the liquid off.

"I can't believe what she just did!" One ant shouted out.

"She's insane!" Another one commented.

The frog ant looked pretty pissed from watching us kill his comrades in front of him. I went back to my spot next to Lynn, feeling nothing but extreme anger.

"Who's next?" The frog ant asked, and the ladybug ant shook the can and drew the next number.

"Number ten! You're up!" The dog ant announced.

A wasp-like ant with long auburn hair wearing a maroon sports bra and shorts stepped up, showing her creepy smile. She also had a big chest.

She chuckled lightly. "Now, which one of you will fight me?"

"I'll take care of her." Lynn spoke up and started walking towards her, brimming with confidence.

They stood face to face, ready to begin the match. The ant's smile grew more creepier, and she shook her stinger.

"Well, I hope you will be dead soon, because I can't wait to sting you so many times once you are!" She taunted, and Lynn grunted softly.

"Let's see if you can try. I'm not allergic to any kind of stings, so good luck with the only weapon you have." Lynn firmly stated.

The wasp ant chuckled. "Actually, I can use my jaws to capture any prey and feed them to the Queen, and you look delectable. Too bad I won't get to eat you, but I guess it's for the King's birth. So, what do you say? Care to be tonight's special for the Queen?"

Lynn glared at her, her eyes cold as ice. The ant smirked.

"Well, it looks like I have no other choice. Time to die, little one!" She charged at her, opening her mouth and revealing her jaws.

Lynn conjured her rings, and raised up her pinky finger.

"Windy Roar!" She chanted, and a gust of wind blew on the ant. I watched as she tried her best to withstand Lynn's attack using her wings. When she got close enough, she tried to attack her with her stinger, but Lynn dodged and stopped using her wind ring.

The wasp ant attempted to sting her again, but she used her water ring to lower her guard and disappeared from her sight.

"Huh? Where are you?" She hissed, trying to sense her presence.

"Scorching Inferno!" I heard Lynn shout, and I saw her with her fist engulfed in flames, ready to punch the ant.

The ant turned around and earned herself a fiery punch to the face. But then, she pulled off a counterattack, piercing her left leg with her stinger. Lynn grunted in pain, and jumped back in alarm.

"Uh oh! Did I do that?" The ant taunted as Lynn rubbed the area where she stung her. "Well, I should give you another one!"

She charged at her again, and Lynn tensed up at her speed.

"Stone Strike!" She chanted and punched the ground, causing huge stones to pop up toward her. She got hit by the last one, and she was launched in the air.

"Windy Roar!" Lynn used her wind ring to launch herself in the air so she could attack the ant. She attempted to land a punch, but the wasp flew away, making her fall down. She landed on her feet, and the wasp flew her way down.

"Now, why don't you be a good girl and give up so I won't have to deal with you any longer?" She spoke in a sweet tone. "Don't worry. I'll make sure you die a quick, easy death."

"I will never give up and I will not die young. I want to live a peaceful life with my friends and enjoy every moment with them. I want to keep them safe, especially my sister. There's no way I'm letting you keep me from living the life I want." Lynn looked up and gave her an icy cold glare.

The ant chuckled. "You've got more guts than I thought. Too bad you can't be able to defeat me with those lame attacks. I'm gonna show you what a powerful attack is!"

For one last time, the wasp ant charged at her, and this time, Lynn concealed her presence using Zetsu, confusing her.

"Now where did you go?" She snapped.

Lynn deactivated Zetsu, reappearing behind her. She placed a hand on her back, scaring the ant.

"Scorching Inferno!" She yelled, flames engulfing her hand and spreading to the ant. She screamed in agony and ran around in circles, panicking as she tried to think of a way to extinguish it.

"YOU! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!" She screamed at her, and all the other Chimera Ants murmured some things to each other.

Lynn didn't say anything and only watched her burn in flames. The ant's wings, limbs, and skin were burning to ashes.

"I won't forgive you!" She yelled before her head was completely burned to ashes along with the rest of her body. Lynn turned around and walked back to us with a grave expression painted on her face.

The frog ant clenched his fist in frustration. Kite started to walk up to them, summoning the miniature clown.

"Enough! It's my turn now!" The frog yelled, stopping the ladybug ant from shaking the can again.

"Two!" The clown yelled out after spinning the wheel. Fog filled the area as a scythe started to appear in Kite's hand. Not just an ordinary scythe, but a huge one.

"Two? Bad roll." Kite grumbled.

"Wow." I breathed.

"Guys." Gon whispered.

"That scythe, it's bad news." Killua commented.

"It looks very powerful." Lynn replied.

Kite turned his head to us. "Guys. On the count of three, I want you all to jump."

We all gasped. Kite got ready to use the scythe, and I noticed the frog ant and the other ants sweating bullets from sensing its power.

"One...two...three!" He gave us the signal to jump, and we jumped as high as we could as he swung the huge scythe around, creating a tornado that cut everything around him. When it disappeared, we got down to see all of the ants dismembered and some of the trees cut down.

"This is the only technique I can use with this scythe, and I cannot dispel it until I have used it." Kite stated and sighed. "It's annoying."

"Then why did you make it like that?" Killua complained.

"Be careful as we advance. Like I told you before, they can survive for an entire day after being decapitated." Kite warned us as we looked at the corpses around us. Then he looked back at us.

"You okay? Because it will only get worse from here. Show absolutely no sympathy for the enemy, or you won't be able to last mentally in battle." Kite advised us, and each of us understood.

"I'm okay. I don't show any sympathy for ants who call each other trash." Gon replied.

Who knew what kind of trouble we would run into when we were close to the nest?

"We're being followed." Kite said as we were walking through a forest. We gasped and turned around.

"Not from there." He looked up at the sky. "There are a few of them."

We started to run after realizing what Kite said was true. I didn't notice any of them flying above us as we tried to keep up with him.

"They're coming from the left and right. Keep your guard up." He advised us.

Some flying ants flew in front of us, and we tried to attack them.

"Damn it!" Killua grumbled after missing one.

"The trees are in the way!" Gon pointed out.

"Shouldn't we get out of here or what?" I asked, slightly shouting.

"This is a trap." Kite said, summoning his ability. The clown rolled a two, and then changed into the huge scythe. He did the same attack he used against the other ants earlier, bifurcating all the ants and trees surrounding him.

When we came out of the fog created by the scythe, we saw two ants in front of us. One looked like a lion while the other looked almost human. They turned around and started to walk away from us, with a third ant joining them.

"He must have realized that they are no match against us, so he decided to pull back without a fight. I assume he's a Squadron Leader." Kite claimed, referring to the lion ant.

As soon as they reached the top of the cliff, they stood still, facing the five of us. We exchanged glances with them before they left us alone.

"We're going to follow them." Kite muttered, and we turned to him in surprise. "Their nest must be nearby. Wherever they're going, I'm certain the Queen must be there."

We continued to follow the three ants without them noticing us.

"They're still moving straight, so that means the nest isn't very far from here." Kite asserted.

"Wow." Lynn commented.

"So that's En, huh?" I replied.

"It's amazing. He kept tracking them and never lost sight of them once." Killua remarked.

"He said that his En has a radius of 45 meters." Gon stated.

"But I've heard that Nen masters can handle around 50 meters. I'm guessing Kite's around that level." Killua added. "He must be stronger since he kept it up for a whole night."

"Right. A technique like that will drain so much energy, it won't be easy for Nen users like us to master." Lynn replied, and Killua nodded.

"Stronger than a master, huh?" Gon muttered, and we focused our attention back to Kite. "Kite must be the real deal."

"Yeah. He's also the first real pro we've met. Tsezguerra is a Pro Hunter, but we only know him as a Greed Island player." Killua explained.

"Uh-huh. And Bisky was our Nen teacher." I added.

"Right. Mr. Wing was the first person to teach us Nen, and he did it at the right time." Lynn stated.
