《A Twist to Our Futures (Killua X OCs X Gon)》Greed Island - Chapter 18

When Gon and I met up with the others, they were absolutely horrified after seeing our grave injuries, especially Lynn.

"Oh God, Lizzy! Y-your eye! I can't believe you..." She trailed off, unable to say anything else.

I lowered my head down, feeling ashamed of myself for not being careful when Genthru tried to attack me with Little Flower. I had worried her a lot.

"Well, at least you two are still alive." Killua replied, his expression looking neutral.

Genthru's eyes fluttered open, catching all of our attention.

"You awake? Come on, get your binder out." The silver-haired boy ordered.

"That's right. We want you to return all of the cards you stole from the ones you betrayed." Bisky demanded.

"On...one condition. Use Angel's Breath to heal Bara's injuries. We have a Clone card." Genthru told us, turning his head to the beaten up guy next to him.

"Don't worry. That was always part of the plan." Killua reassured.

"We already prepared six copies of Clone, just in case." Bisky told them.

"Book." The blond summoned his book, and Bisky took out an Angel's Breath card to use it.

"Gain!"

A beautiful, divine-like angel appeared in front of my eye. I breathed in wonder.

"What matter of aid do you wish of me?" She asked, her voice sounding heavenly.

"We need you to heal both of his hands and throat. Actually, just fix everything wrong with him." Killua commanded.

"That is a simple task. And so, I shall restore his body to its former state." She blew on Gon, healing all of his injuries. My eye grew wide in amazement.

When she finished restoring him, we all beamed at his now perfectly healed hand.

"Yes! I'm healed!" The boy cheered and laughed.

"Your hand is back!" I exclaimed and happily laughed along with him.

"Now, farewell." The angel said before disappearing.

Bisky took out another Angel's Breath card and held it up. "Here it is. The extra Angel's Breath card."

She gave it to Gon, who used it to heal the guy named Bara. If that card could heal all injuries, then I was certain it could restore my right eye.

"Next up is Killua. Genthru, we're going to use your binder now." Bisky said, placing her hands on her hips.

"Do as you please." The blond replied in defeat.

"Clone on!" She cast the spell, but it didn't do anything until a message played from the binder.

"Attention. Angel's Breath has reached its maximum card limit. Clone will be destroyed."

With that said, the card shattered in her hand, causing her to panic.

"W-what? What just happened? Did I do something wrong?" She cried, leaning closer to Gon.

"No, it's Goreinu. He used either Clone or Transform to increase the number of Angel's Breath Vouchers. So, two of his Vouchers became Angel's Breath cards. That must be why." Killua explained.

Goreinu contacted us and then met us in the field where we kept the three Bombers restrained. He narrowed his eyes down at them.

"I don't approve of this. If you use Angel's Breath on these murderers, then the trade is off." He warned.

"Could I use it?" Killua asked.

"Yes, of course."

"But I'm an assassin."

"Huh?"

"I've killed more people than these guys. Each player in this game risks their life in one way or another. That doesn't mean it's okay to kill people, but every person I've killed were prepared to lose their lives. I'm way worse than they could ever be." The silver-haired boy explained.

"No, you're wrong. You're nothing like them. I like you, but I hate their guts!" Goreinu countered.

"That isn't very logical."

"Forget logic! It's just how I feel. Don't you feel the same way?"

"But it's not our place to judge. We don't think it's right to let them die just because we hate them." Bisky spoke up, stepping up to Goreinu. "Both sides risk their lives in battle, and are prepared to kill if necessary. But that doesn't apply once the fight is over."

"I still haven't forgiven Genthru for killing all those players. Not yet at least. But the five of us agreed before the fight that we'd bring six Clone cards just in case." Gon added. "I don't really remember why we decided that, but I do know one thing. It wasn't based on logic or reason. It just made sense to all of us. Once the fight was over and we'd obtained Angel's Breath, we'd use it on whoever got hurt. All five of us made the decision together, so we wanted to stick to it. But I get how you feel, Mr. Goreinu. I guess it can't be helped."

The spiky-haired boy turned to Killua with a concerned look. "Sorry Killua. Could you wait a little longer?"

"No problem. My hands will heal on their own." Killua smiled.

Then he turned to me, forming a deep frown on his face. "But Lizzy..."

I sighed, knowing that I couldn't replace my eye now. I felt bad, and I should have been more careful of what I was doing.

Gon turned back to the Bombers and sadly stared at them. "Things have changed, so we can't use Clone anymore. And there's only one Angel's Breath card left."

"Hang on? Only one? Isn't that the original?" Goreinu asked.

"I want you to use it on Genthru. I'm going to be fine." The red-haired guy muttered, and the blond widened his eyes in surprise.

I softly whimpered, and he heard it. He shook his head, and the red-haired guy whipped his head to the blond.

"I think you should use it. You need it more than I do." He said to me, and I lightly gasped with hope.

"I don't deserve to be healed. I dealt a lot of damage to you and your friend. You still have a long way to go before you can reach your goal. And...I want you to follow your path. We are not the same in any way. If you use the card, things will be much better for you."

I covered my mouth with one hand, taken aback by his sudden change of heart.

"A-are you sure about that?" I asked, wanting to make sure that he meant it.

"I'll be okay. Go ahead and use the card." He urged.

I looked at everyone around me, and they all expressed their agreement by nodding and smiling gently.

"Gain!" Bisky summoned the angel again, and I was fascinated by her heavenly appearance.

"What matter of aid do you wish of me?" The angel asked.

"Please, fix her eye and all of her injuries if you can." Gon said, pointing at me. I gazed at her with such an innocent eye, I might look like an angel myself.

"That is not a problem. I shall restore her eye and heal all of her injuries right away." With that said, she began to blow on me, and I indulged myself in her divine-like breath. I could feel the wound disappearing, and as soon as she finished healing me, I opened both of my emerald green eyes and felt no more pain.

"My eye, it's back! Yeah!" I jumped up and cheered, pumping up my fist and giggling.

"Alright!" Gon beamed, and the rest of us smiled with pure happiness.

"I'm glad you're completely healed. Now you know what happens if you don't focus on what you're doing." Lynn stated.

"Yeah Lynn, I won't do it again." I replied.

"Promise?"

"Promise."

We both hugged each other to seal it, making the boys and Bisky smile with pleasure. We parted and turned to the three Bombers.

"Thank you, Genthru." I said, and the said blond gasped and widened his eyes. He only closed his eyes in response.

"Alright, let's use Accompany to go to Masadora." Killua declared.

"Yeah." Gon nodded.

"Hey, wait up!" Goreinu called out to us, and we turned to him.

"Fine, you guys can have Angel's Breath!" He yelled.

"Huh?"

"Really? Are you sure?" Gon asked.

"Well, to be honest, before you told me all this, I decided to give it to you. Not just Angel's Breath, but all of our cards." He stated, and we were all stunned.

"Tsezguerra, his team, and I all agreed. Thing is, we all decided to quit the game."

Goreinu explained everything that happened with Battera and the reward, and after that, Bisky used the last Angel's Breath to heal Killua's hands.

"Wow, I'm all better!" He exclaimed, looking at his hands that had been healed.

"Good for you." Lynn smiled, causing the boy to become flustered and red.

"So, Mr. Battera...?" Gon paused and then Goreinu continued explaining.

"Yeah, he paid Team Tsezguerra for breaking the contract. I settled for six billion Jenny."

"What? Six billion?!" Bisky exclaimed. "Hey! Fork some of that over! Now! Now!"

"W-what are you talking about? Each of us gets a million!" He stated.

"What?" All of us exclaimed.

"It's only fair. I couldn't have done this on my own. It's only possible because we teamed up and worked together."

Bisky showed him her puppy eyes, expressing her gratitude for his support.

"I can't believe it. You're a real nice guy!" She cried, clinging on to his arm.

"Anyway, you can take all the cards. But there is one condition." Goreinu raised a finger. "You must be the first players to complete the game."

"Uh-huh!" I nodded.

"We got it." Lynn said.

"Piece of cake." Killua replied, smiling.

"That gives you 99 specified slot cards. Which means there is one more card left, number 0." Goreinu stated.

"One more card left?" Gon repeated.

"Yeah." Killua said.

Goreinu gave us all of his cards, and we watched as Gon put them in his binder.

"Ninety-seven, ninety-eight, and this is...ninety-nine!" The dark-haired boy smiled as he put the last card, Panda Maid, in its designated slot. We heard a beep from the binder, and I slightly tensed.

"This announcement is for all players. A player has just collected 99 specified slot cards. Ten minutes from now, in honor of this accomplishment, we'll hold a quiz for all players on Greed Island. You're all welcome to participate if you like. There will be a total of one hundred questions dealing with the specified slot cards. Whoever gets the most questions correct will receive number 0, Ruler's Blessing as a prize. Please stand by with your binders open and ready."

"Questions about specified slot cards?" Gon asked.

"I bet...that the questions are designed so that players who mainly steal cards can't answer them." Killua implied.

"Yeah, you're probably right." Lynn replied.

We noticed a light coming down to where we were.

"Someone's coming!" Killua warned us.

"Wait, there's more!" Bisky added, referring to the other lights coming to the area.

Several players came here, and we all tensed up.

"Don't worry." One player spoke up, and we turned to him and his teammate.

"We're not here to interfere or anything. We just came here to help you." His teammate replied.

"Help? Really?" Gon said.

"Yeah. If we get the top score and win the last card, we'll sell it to you for 2.5 billion. That's just five percent of your reward. It's a reasonable price, don't you think?" The redhead offered.

These guys don't know about Mr. Battera yet. Neither does everyone else that just came here.

The boys looked at each other and nodded in agreement.

"Sure, if you guys win." Killua said before turning to Bisky. "Is this why they're here? For a chance to sell us the final card?"

"With the game coming to an end, they're all hoping to get some share of the reward for themselves." The blonde pointed out. "It looks like they're going to take the quiz in teams. So, what should we do?"

"Well, I think we should do it by ourselves!" Gon suggested.

"Yeah! Whoever gets the lowest score gets punished!" Killua proposed.

"Yes! I'm in!"

"All right! Let's do this!" I cheered, pumping up a fist.

"Good luck you guys." Lynn said before summoning her binder and opening it. I also summoned mine and opened it.

"Ladies and gentlemen. We will now begin the quiz." The lady announced. "Question one. A village elder provides you an important clue about number 1, Plot of Forest. What is his name? A: Hira. B: Hida. C: Hiso. D: Mayu. E: Hima."

"Aw man! I don't know this one!" I whined, having no clue what the answer was.

"Damn! I'm stumped already! Five choices?" Killua groaned, clutching his head.

"Well, here goes nothing." Lynn picked her choice, as well as Killua, Gon, and I.

"What must you do in order to acquire number 17, Angel's Breath?"

"Uggghhh! These questions are so hard!" I cried, falling to the ground.

"We've collected some of the cards before Goreinu decided to give us all of his cards. So I feel like we won't do very well on this quiz." Lynn stated before choosing her answer.

Killua gritted his teeth, and Gon picked his answer like he knew it.

"Number 84. The Paladin's Necklace is offered as a prize in which monthly tournament?"

"Ooh! I think I know this one!" I exclaimed and quickly answered.

"Okay!" Gon smiled.

"And now for the final question. What is the name of card number 0? A: Ruler's Banquet. B: Ruler's Invitation. C: Ruler's Welcome. D: Ruler's Reception. E: Ruler's Blessing."

"The answer is obvious, right?" I said, picking my final answer.

Lynn remembered very well, but Killua on the other hand, did not.

"The quiz is over. I will now announce the player with the top score."

Man, most of the questions were very hard for me. I didn't know how most of the cards were obtained and stuff like that. My score would definitely be low.

"With a total of 87 out of 100 points, the winner is..."

The atmosphere grew tense, and I waited desperately to find out who won the event.

"Gon!" The lady finished, and my green eyes went to the spiky-haired boy, who was totally surprised.

"Yeah!" He cheered loudly.

"We have all 100 cards!" Killua shouted.

"You did it." The player wearing a teal hat spoke.

"I hate to say it, but congrats. You deserve it." The redhead replied.

"Thanks. That means Killua gets punished!" Gon teased the ex-assassin.

"Damn. How many points did I get?" He pouted, and Lynn and I chuckled.

We heard a squawk from above, and we looked up to see an owl holding an envelope in its claws. It dropped the envelope, and Gon caught it.

"Ruler's Invitation?" He read.

"Looks like the one with the badge is invited." Killua pointed out.

"So, Limeiro is the capital?"

"It seems like it." I replied, gaping at the invitation.

"Do I have to go alone?"

"As it says on the invitation, the one with the badge is invited, so yes, you do have to go alone." Lynn answered.

"We'll wait for you by the castle." Killua told him.

A light crashed down in front of us, revealing two weird-looking players. One of them laughed and smirked.

"Hey, he really got it. That kid collected all the cards." The one with the afro remarked.

"Hey, let's have a contest with all your cards at stake." His teammate proposed.

"Sorry, but you don't have a choice."

Lynn and I tensed, and the boys looked at each other before having no choice but to fight them. They beat the crap out of those guys, easily defeating them.

"Then, I'll take an Accompany." Gon said.

"Wait. That won't work. None of us have been to Limeiro before." Killua stated.

"Isn't there a card that allows you to go somewhere you've never visited?" I asked.

"Yes, there is. Drift." Bisky replied.

"In that case, I'll use Drift to go to Limeiro, and then come back for you guys." Killua explained.

"And Accompany should work after that." Gon concluded.

"Drift on!"

Killua disappeared after the light took him away to Limeiro. We waited for a few moments until he came back to us. He took out an Accompany to use.

"Let's go, you guys." He said.

"Yeah." The rest of us nodded.

"Accompany on! Limeiro!" Killua cast the spell, and the five of us were taken away by the light to go to our destination.

It was evening, and Gon went inside the castle by himself. We were waiting for him to finish with his business, hanging out on the stairs.

"I wonder what he's feeling." Bisky spoke up.

"What do you mean?" Killua asked.

"He might actually meet Ging, right? The father he's been searching for all this time."

"For him, it'll be a dream come true." Lynn crossed her arms and smiled.

"Exactly." I replied, my eyes gleaming in the sunlight.

Completing the game together had been a huge success. There was a big celebration, with the city crowded with people everywhere.

We participated in a parade, waving and cheering to the crowd around us as we rode in a float in honor of our victory.

Then, we had a banquet and ate lots of good food and desserts. It was like the best I'd ever had my whole life.

We sang together and danced next. Bisky had such a beautiful singing voice. We danced to the rhythmic beat, happily enjoying ourselves.

And finally, Gon and I shared a lovely, memorable kiss as the fireworks boomed in the night sky. Bisky couldn't stop squealing at the heartwarming sight before her.

After the party was over, the five of us sat together in a room, and I was absolutely surprised by what Gon just told me.

"WHAT? You're telling me that my dad was among the 11 creators of this game?!" I shouted in his face.

"Y-yeah. He was the S in 'Island,' until his death eight years ago." The boy scratched his head, and Lynn was stupefied.

"What did he do in the game?"

"He was in charge of keeping trespassers from entering the island. That role however, was taken by Razor after he died in Yorknew City two years after the game's release. He used a spell card that only Game Masters can obtain to eliminate anyone who enters the island illegally." He explained.

"Ohhhh..."

"Did he know Ging?" Lynn asked.

"Yeah. He was one of Ging's friends around that time. When he died, my dad could feel nothing but grief on the inside." Gon stated. "Before he left the game to fulfill his other duties, he left something for you two in case you were the ones to clear the game."

"What is it?" I asked, curious to know.

"This." He said, pulling out a case that was nicely designed with flowers. I breathed in a low gasp as I picked it up and observed it. I opened it and there were three slots inside.

"He wanted you to take some extra cards home to enjoy with your family. I thought it would be really nice for me to give it to you when you're with me." He smiled.

Lynn and I gazed at the gift bestowed on us by our father. We did work together with our friends to clear the game, so we deserved it.

"So, about Ging, did they tell you anything about him?" Bisky asked.

"Yeah, but they don't know where he is right now." Gon replied.

"I see. So the game didn't have any clues." She sighed.

"Well, that's what his message said in the beginning." Killua told us.

"Yeah, that's true." Gon nodded.

"So, which three cards will you choose?" Bisky asked, getting excited.

"How about we each pick one?" Killua suggested.

"I still want Blue Planet!" The blonde squealed with delight. "I can't wait to snuggle you!"

"Which cards do you guys want?" I asked the boys.

"I don't know yet. Have you decided, Gon?" Killua turned to the spiky-haired male.

"I think so." He nodded.

"Really? Which one?"

"Hmm...this one." He said, pointing at a card.

"Which one?" Bisky asked, and we looked at where he was pointing at. Then our faces looked confused.

"Wait, why this one?" She questioned.
