《A Twist to Our Futures (Killua X OCs X Gon)》Greed Island - Chapter 13

We were walking side by side with Goreinu and Hisoka behind us. We were heading straight for Aiai like Hisoka suggested.
"What exactly do you mean by him lying?" Killua asked Bisky.
"Technically, I should've said he wasn't speaking the truth." She replied.
"But how can you tell?" Gon asked.
"It was just a hunch."
"Seriously?" Killua questioned.
"After lying for 50 years, I can recognize a fellow liar." She cackled, and I sweatdropped.
"Wow. That's way more talent than I have." I muttered.
"It's obvious that he's lying, so we'll keep him around until we can find out what's up. Plus, he's really strong, right?" She whispered.
"Uh-huh." Lizzy replied.
None of us noticed Hisoka leering at something on us. He then averted his eyes to something more...appealing to him. Suddenly, I felt an unpleasant feeling taking over me, and I knew who the heck was doing that.
"Hey! What the hell are you doing, you pervert!" I yelled at the magician, and he simply hummed.
"Go walk in front of us!" Lizzy snapped.
After the redhead and Goreinu moved to the front, the unpleasant feeling was gone, and we no longer had to move under Hisoka's leer.
"Eight more members, correct?" The perverted magician asked.
"Yeah. We hope to find others like you who aren't interested in collecting cards." Goreinu replied.
"Isn't everyone else here to beat the game? I doubt there are too many eccentrics like myself." Hisoka turned his head to Bisky, who swooned over him to keep him from suspecting something.
"By the way, did you use someone's power to fly to me?" He asked.
"It was a spell. There are plenty of them in this game." Goreinu stated.
"Oh, so that's what it was. You need to buy spells from stores, right?"
I'm trying to figure out what it is he's lying about. He said that he came here to look for any Spiders who know Chrollo's whereabouts. But...something doesn't make any sense.
After walking for a couple of minutes, we had reached Aiai. The place was filled with romantic delight, and thus, it suited well with the name.
A girl tripped in front of us, causing her glasses to fall off.
"Oh no! Where are my glasses?" She cried, trying to look for her glasses.
"Pick them up for her. You might become friends." Hisoka told Gon.
We saw another one bump into Goreinu. "Excuse me! You should watch where you're going! Be more careful!" She scolded the man, making him sweat awkwardly.
"Oh, uh, I'm sorry!" He apologized and tried to reason with her, but she stood up and ran away.
"I'm gonna be late!" She cried.
"Why did you apologize? What you should've done is told her to watch where she was going and started an argument." Hisoka told him.
"Stop! Let me go!" We heard another girl scream for help, and we turned to her direction to see her being harassed by three guys. "I'll scream if you don't let me go!"
"Scream all you want. No one will come save you." One guy said.
"Hold it!" Gon shouted, and they turned to see him looking pissed.
"Let go of her right now!" He demanded.
Killua hit his head, causing him to cry out in pain.
"Hey, that hurt!" The poor boy winced, rubbing his head.
"How could you fall for such a tired old cliché!" The silver-haired male screamed at him.

"Really? You want me to be your hair model?" We heard Bisky squeal, and we turned to see her with a handsome guy.
"Your hair looks so long and lovely. Please allow me to style it." The guy said, sounding formal.
"Yes, please!" She rapidly nodded.
An irk mark appeared on Killua's head. "There's no point in hanging around this stupid city." He grumbled.
A man in a brown suit suddenly made his dramatic appearance right in front of me.
"Oh, I've been looking everywhere for a beautiful young lady! Will you be willing to marry me?" He tried to propose to me, surprising me by showing me a ring. I was at a loss for words when all of a sudden, Killua started screaming at him.
"Hey, old man! Find someone else to marry, will ya?! Stay away from her and don't ever pop the question again, you hear me?!"
The man gulped and ran away from me to avoid clashing with him. I looked at him with a faint blush on my face.
"I—" I tried to speak up, but the silver-haired boy growled audibly.
"These jerks...There's no way I'm letting you near them." He firmly stated, looking into my sapphire eyes.
The blush became more visible, and I turned my head away in embarrassment. Killua sighed and went to the red-haired magician.
"Hisoka, let's go somewhere else." He said.
"But why? We won't be bored, and boredom isn't an issue here." Hisoka remarked.
We started to walk out of the city, with Killua lost in thought. I still couldn't get his statement out of my mind after what happened earlier. He acted like myself, sort of.
"Hey, guys? I've been thinking." Gon spoke up, and we focused our attention on him.
"We should probably try to recruit Tsezguerra." He suggested.
"Tsezguerra? You mean the guy who tested us in the selection?" Lizzy asked.
"Yeah. And even if he won't join, we should at least meet him, and that way, he'll be in our binder list."
"It would be good to know what they're doing." Killua replied.
"He's an experienced player, so he should be really strong." I added.
"Can I see your binder, Hisoka?" Gon asked the magician. "We're trying to find a guy named Tsezguerra, so I wanna see if he's on the list of players you've met."
"List?"
After some talking, Hisoka summoned his binder and checked his list to find the name we were looking for.
"There's Tsezguerra." He pointed at the name, and we went over to see it. No Troupe members were in this list, which was strange since he said that some of the Spiders were interested in playing this game. I thought he had met them before we came to him.
"In that case, could you say this spell? We'll do all the talking." Gon held up a Contact card, and he nodded.
"Contact on. Tsezguerra."
We talked with him through the binder for about three minutes until Gon managed to schedule a meeting with him. Goreinu used Accompany to teleport us from Aiai to where Tsezguerra was.
We hoped he could join us so that we could defeat Razor together.
"So, seven of you altogether?" Tsezguerra asked.
"Yeah, this is all of us." Goreinu replied.
"There are two others in my group." He snapped his fingers, and two other men came out from behind the trees. "That's a total of eleven people. Where do you plan to find the rest?"

"We'll need fifteen members, right?" One of the men asked.
"We can use fill-ins for the remaining four. We can invite players who want to return to the real world, but can't." Goreinu explained.
"I doubt they will be able to help, but they won't care about collecting cards, either." Killua stated.
"Meaning that the eleven of us will have to win the contest. Do we have a chance? How strong are our opponents?" Tsezguerra asked.
"They're really tough. But if we can't manage eight wins, we can switch members and try again." Goreinu replied.
"So whether we can win depends on you guys. Show us your Ren first. We'll decide if we need you afterwards." Killua ordered them.
"I see that the tables have turned. Very well. Here I go." Tsezguerra squatted down and began demonstrating his Nen. He jumped up high, and we were amazed.
"Oh my gosh! That's so cool!" Lizzy beamed.
"Awesome!" Killua replied.
The man chuckled. "I can jump higher if I use my full strength. My personal best is 16 meters, eighty centimeters."
The boys focused their Nen in their feet, surprising us and Tsezguerra.
"Ready, go!" They jumped up in the air and surpassed Tsezguerra's record.
"Wow! Let's try doing that, Lynn!" My sister pointed up and focused her aura in her feet before jumping. She passed Tsezguerra and floated in the air next to Gon.
"Wow! You did great, Lizzy!" The spiky-haired boy complimented her.
She giggled. "Thanks!"
I smiled and decided to try it out myself. Focusing my aura in my feet, I squatted down and jumped up high, also passing Tsezguerra and the boys. I stopped at about 20 meters and floated there.
"What?!" Killua exclaimed, clearly taken aback by my best record.
"No way!" Lizzy pouted.
"Aw, man!" Gon flapped his arms to try to go higher, but to no avail. I only chuckled, and even Tsezguerra himself was astonished.
We all got down to the ground and landed safely. I was quite surprised to see that we had greatly improved our Nen over a short period of time.
"How impressive. Though, I could still go a bit higher myself." Tsezguerra said as he got down.
"I wanna go again!" Lizzy smiled innocently.
"Yeah! Let's go again!" Gon exclaimed.
"No way. You won't stop until you win." Killua stated.
"One more! Just one more time!" The boy begged him, holding up a finger.
"Oh, and you passed. Nice jump." Killua said to Tsezguerra, and he sweatdropped.
"I wanna go again!" Lizzy amusingly grunted.
"Fine." Killua rolled his eyes and focused his aura in his feet.
"Get ready to lose, losers!" I jumped up along with the others, and as expected, I was the highest among the four of us. I smirked at them as I got down.
"Aw, come on! One more time!" Gon cried.
We continued jumping over and over again, me winning every round. They wouldn't stop with the complaining and tried many times to surpass my record. None of them did, and I would doubt that even Tsezguerra could.
"Hey, this is bad!" One of Tsezguerra's teammates cried out.
"What is it?" Another one replied.
"Team Genthru is up to ninety-seven cards!"
I widened my eyes. Ninety-seven? That means...they're only missing Strip of Beach and Wild Luck Alexandrite!
This was bad. We couldn't let our hope of completing the game die. Not now.
Four more players joined our team, and we now had a total of 15 players. It was nighttime, and we were standing at the lighthouse base, ready to challenge Razor again.
"Over the past week, we've run various simulations and have prepared accordingly. Given Team Genthru's situation, we can't afford to lose." Tsezguerra stated.
"We're gonna win this!" Gon said.
"Yes, we are." Bisky replied.
We now have a stronger team. We shouldn't be holding back, especially when we have the upper hand.
"Alright, let's go." Goreinu said, and we all headed straight into the base to have a rematch against Razor.
"Let's start with some boxing." Razor stated.
We all stood around the boxing ring as one of Tsezguerra's teammates and the pirate were about to start fighting.
"I'll send you packing!" The pirate laughed arrogantly.
"His special ability is teleportation." Killua stated.
"We already know that he can teleport his uppercut." Gon added.
"The blond guy from before didn't have the advantage, but with him over there, he will certainly keep him from using his teleportation ability." I explained.
"And if the pirate cannot teleport his uppercut, that guy will definitely win." Lizzy concluded.
"Fight!" Razor announced as he stepped outside the ring.
The guy dashed forward and delivered a series of punches while the pirate blocked his attacks. He was incredibly fast, even better than the guy from last time. He punched the pirate in the gut, and we all cheered.
"Awesome!" The boys yelled out.
The pirate was unable to block his attacks any longer and was knocked down after he punched him many times.
"The winner is Barry!" Razor announced.
"We did it!" Gon exclaimed.
"Alright!" Lizzy cheered.
The other two of Tsezguerra's teammates won the bowling and free throw challenges, and we now had three wins. This would be easy peasy!
"You guys can throw your matches if you want. I'll take it from here." Razor said with a smile.
One pirate nodded. "Roger that."
"Wait!" The large pirate yelled out. "I'm done following your stupid orders! I'll be doing things my own way now!" He took off his hat and threw it to the floor.
"Alright, brat! Let's step outside!" He demanded.
"Outside? Don't you mean the sumo ring?" Killua questioned, sounding casual.
"I'm done messing around! Want me to kill you right here and now?"
"Hey Bopobo, stop!" Another pirate grabbed his arm to stop him.
"That violates our agreement. Do you want to go back to jail, Bopobo?" Razor kindly asked.
"I don't give a damn! I'm done playing this stupid game!" He yelled. We gasped at his attitude.
"Who's with me? If we team up, we can crush that damn bastard! And then we can use a boat to get off this damn island!"
I noticed Razor creating a red ball, which I assumed was made with Nen. He hurled it at the large pirate's face and blew up his head. All of us gasped in horror at what we just saw.
"Breaking the taboo warrants severe punishment, or did I not tell him that?" Razor gestured to the other pirates.
"Y-Yes, you did." One of them stuttered.
I watched the blood spreading on the floor beneath the corpse, deeply stunned by Razor's sudden move.
"Did that idiot think I wouldn't kill him?" The man let out a derisive snort.
I heard the weak players whimper in fear, not wanting to get killed by his deadly force.
"Okay, I'll go next." He stated.
"This looks bad." One of the weak players muttered.
"There's no way we can fight those guys." The one with the glasses replied, his voice sounding wobbly.
"No, hang on. We'll be the only ones doing the fighting." Goreinu reassured them.
"We explained how this works. If the eleven of us can't secure eight victories, you can just forfeit without having to fight." Tsezguerra replied.
"Really?" One with short spiky hair said.
"You mean it?" The one with a small afro replied.
"Yes, so don't worry."
I wondered if they all were real people by judging what happened to the large pirate. If in-game characters weren't sticking to the program, then I was certain that they were real people.
"I have a question. Since that guy is dead now, what happens to the sumo match?" Killua asked.
"Oh, you get the win." Razor answered.
"Okay, but we never decided who we were sending."
Really? You literally told everyone you were going to do it!
"I don't care who you give the win to. Just give it to one of the guys standing in the back." Razor gestured to the weak players standing behind us.
"Okay, then I guess you get the sumo win." The silver-haired boy pointed at someone wearing a red and white striped shirt.
"Huh? M-Me? Okay." He stuttered.
"That gives us four wins."
I watched as the pirates carried the corpse out of the room.
"Okay, then. I think I'll go with an eight-on-eight game...of dodgeball." Razor formed seven rings on the floor, and we all watched in awe as some creatures rose up from the rings.
"Pick eight members for your team. As you can see, I already have mine." He stated.
"Wait. How is this scored?" Goreinu asked.
"It's one point per person, right?" One of Tsezguerra's teammates replied.
"Yes, one point per person. So eight points goes to the winning team. Simple enough?" Razor answered.
"So that's how this works?" Tsezguerra remarked.
The four wimps on our team started trembling and whimpering.
"You guys have eight players already, so we're getting out of here!" The one with the small afro exclaimed.
"Yeah, there's absolutely no way I'm fighting him!" The one with the glasses cried out.
"Me neither! I'm not dying in this game!" The one with short spiky hair replied.
"Oh, just to be perfectly clear, we'll be using a normal ball. But Nen will make it as strong as the projectile I launched earlier." Razor stated.
"No way am I doing this! I'm leaving!" The one wearing the red and white striped shirt stepped back.
"Me too! Let's get out of here!" They ran away, leaving us to deal with Razor by ourselves.
"Wait!" The guy in Tsezguerra's team called out to them.
"It's okay. We have eight players already, so we don't need them anymore. We're risking our lives here, and all of us are willing players." Gon stated. Then he glared at the man in front of him. "But I'm angry about something. It's probably pointless arguing with an in-game character, but wasn't Bopobo your friend? What did he do to deserve death?"
"Robbery, rape, and murder, too. Eleven confirmed counts to be specific." He stated.
"This is happening in the real world." Hisoka implied.
"This isn't a virtual world. Greed Island exists somewhere in the real world. This game takes place in the real world we know." Tsezguerra explained.
We were dumbstruck from hearing this inconceivable fact.
"Revealing that information to a player who truly believes they're inside a game is taboo. Bopobo was executed for breaking that taboo. This guy, Razor, is a Game Master, a real human." He continued.
I knew it! Razor and the pirates were all human.
"Game Master?" Gon asked.
"He's one of the creators of this game."
The boy gasped in realization. "Wait. But then—"
"Bopobo and the other pirates are real death row criminals. He disobeyed orders and attempted to instigate a mutiny. Execution was a fair consequence."
"This is happening in the real world?" Gon asked.
"Yes, it is." Hisoka answered.
"I never realized that." Killua commented.
"I hadn't even considered it." Bisky replied.
"Now that is something I should know." Lizzy added.
"I was right when I wondered if Razor and the other pirates are human. I never knew until he killed Bopobo for revealing all that confidential information." I explained.
Razor bounced the ball, capturing our attention. "Well, it doesn't really matter. Since this island is still isolated from the rest of the world."
"Hey, wait a second. If this is real life, does that mean that Ging is here too, on Greed Island?" Gon asked, brimming with determination and curiosity.
"Ging?" Goreinu said.
"I see. You must be Gon Freecss." Razor recognized him as Ging's son.
"Yeah." The boy nodded, and Razor's aura spiked.
"Your dad told me not to go easy on you...when you get here."
A smile made its way to Gon's face. I could tell he was ready for anything.
"Alright. It looks like we have an eight-on-eight game." Razor smiled.
Tsezguerra, Goreinu, Hisoka, Bisky, Killua, Gon, Lizzy, and I. We were going to risk our lives to win. There was no way all of us could lose.
