《A Twist to Our Futures (Killua X OCs X Gon)》Greed Island - Chapter 10

All of us stood at the Starting Point, waiting for a certain silver-haired male to return to the game. I wondered what he did to pass the Hunter Exam this year. What I said to him when we were at the port earlier had motivated him a lot.

There he was, stepping down the stairs with his casual expression plastered on his pale white face. My lips parted in a smile at the sight of the ex-assassin.

"Welcome back, Killua! How was the exam?" Gon asked.

"I aced it in no time, naturally." He replied.

"Yeah!" They clasped each other's hands and exchanged smiles.

"That's good to hear." I spoke, capturing his attention.

"Aw, man. You should've saw me knock out all those applicants flawlessly." The silver-haired male sighed, locking his hands behind his head.

"Wait. You did what?" I exclaimed, stunned by his response.

"Took me about a mere two hours to ace the whole exam. There was no Second Phase or anything else, just me getting my license."

"Oh, wow! How incredible!" Lizzy smiled at him, trying to hide her envy.

"Sorry to interrupt your celebration, but take a look at these spell cards." Bisky said.

We went to the badlands and sat down on a couple of rocks, examining our spell cards.

"Wow! An S-rank card? And an A-rank, too! How much do you think we can sell them for?" Killua asked.

"Ok, let's go ask around!" Bisky suggested.

"No, we should use them wisely." Gon countered, and the blonde shot him a glare, expressing her disapproval.

"He's right. We need these cards in case anyone tries to steal or destroy our designated slot cards." I briefly explained.

"So, what do you think we should do, Killua?" He asked him.

"Well, I guess it's safe to hold on to them. We don't have to worry about them getting stolen with all these defensive spells." Killua stated. "Have you guys tried any of these yet?"

"Just Blackout Curtain."

"What? Why only one? If you have all these cards, you should use them instead of safekeeping them." He handed Gon a card, and the dark-haired male carefully read it.

"Start by using this one. You can choose any player you've met and have a talk with them."

"Any player we've met? Who did we run into?" Lizzy asked.

"Well, let's see." Killua replied.

"Alright. Contact on!" Gon casted the spell, revealing a list of names in the binder. I scanned through all of the names in order.

"Who knew we could run into so many players?" I muttered.

Both Killua and I gasped when our eyes came across a familiar name.

"Hey, when did you guys run into him?" Killua asked, his voice shaking.

"Who?" Lizzy said as she stood up to have a look at the binder.

They gasped and widened their eyes when they read the name, feeling uneasy.

"Chrollo?" Gon questioned.

"Wait. Who's Chrollo?" Bisky asked, trying to figure out what was going on.

"No way. Him? Inside the game? But how?" I began to doubt whether that bastard was really inside the game with the rest of the Phantom Troupe or by himself.

"I haven't seen him inside the game." Gon said.

"Does that mean that you guys passed each other without noticing?" Killua asked.

"What are you guys talking about?" Bisky tried to butt in on our conversation.

"But Kurapika sealed his Nen, didn't he? That would make it impossible for Chrollo to enter the game since he cannot use Nen. And you have to use Nen just to enter the game." I explained my point.

"Who is this Kurapika dude?" The blonde was getting more vexed every second from being left out.

"If that's the case, then that means—" Before Killua could continue speaking, Bisky punched all of us into the air, tired of being ignored.

"Could you guys tell me what the hell is going on?!" She snapped, us screaming in pain from the impact.

After telling her everything that happened between us, Kurapika, and the Phantom Troupe, she understood.

"It's called Exorcism, and it's quite possible." She stated.

"It is?" Killua said.

"Of course! If you can place Nen on others, there would have to be a way to remove it as well."

"Does that mean Chrollo removed Kurapika's Nen and then entered the game?" Killua asked.

"I don't know if he had the ability to do that. I've never seen any of his abilities with my own eyes, and if he had known Exorcism, he would be capable of removing Kurapika's Nen to enter the game. But...it might be possible that he did not actually enter the game at all and instead have someone else play under his name. If Chrollo is here, so is the Phantom Troupe." I explained my reasoning.

"Even so, why would he even come here?" Gon replied.

"I'm not sure, but we should probably let Kurapika know. In that case, I'm going to hop out again." Killua ran away, but Lizzy called out to him.

"Wait! We have a Leave card, so you can use it to get out of the game!" She waved to him to get his attention.

"Save it. I'll be back in four hours! See ya later!" He called back.

I wonder if Chrollo ever did learn how to remove Kurapika's Nen so he can enter the game. But someone else could've entered the game for him and used his name, as I assume that players can enter any name they want. If he really is here, I honestly don't know how to deal with him.

After Killua returned four hours later, he delivered the news to us.

"Lynn's right. It's not the real Chrollo Lucilfer." He acknowledged my words.

"So, it's not?" Lizzy said.

"Kurapika was pretty calm about it. He sounded like he wasn't concerned at all."

"Well, it sounds like you got worried for nothing. Now, you should get back to focusing on yourselves!" Bisky brightened up, raising a finger before putting her hands on her hips.

"Osu! Start with the basics!" Gon exclaimed.

"We're not going to train. Instead, let's focus on beating the game!"

"Oh, yeah!" Lizzy jumped up and cheered, getting excited to actually play the game.

We were standing at a huge tree, where a King White Stag Beetle lived as the guy told us.

"It's said that the legendary King White Stag Beetle lives only in this tree. The only way to capture it is to hit the tree hard enough to shake it out!" He explained.

"Show me Rock! Jan! Ken! Rock!" With that said, Gon prepared his attack, chanting as he punched the tree with his fist. We all looked up to see tons of bugs falling down.

"Whoa..." Killua breathed in awe.

"It's raining bugs everywhere!" Bisky cried, arms above her head in fear.

"Ahhh! I think there's one on my head!" Lizzy whined, panicking.

"Found it! Rank A!" The spiky-haired boy held up three cards, smiling brightly. "That makes three King White Stag Beetle cards!"

"You could've gotten more if you'd just thrown a real punch." Killua said.

"Well, you're probably right, but I didn't want to damage the tree."

"Oh Gon. You're too kindhearted for this world." Lizzy chuckled at his innocence towards nature.

We then went to a mansion to collect a Gold Dust Girl, and Killua had gone inside the mansion to find her.

"There is no such girl here in this mansion. And even if there were, you'll never be able to get past all the traps and find her." The guard smirked.

"Found her." Killua called out to us, dragging a purple-haired girl by her wrist. "She was located in a secret room four floors underground."

"What?! Damn you!" The guard attempted to attack him, but the silver-haired boy punched him with ease.

"Gold Dust Girl, rank A!" Killua held up the card in victory.

"But the guard was only an F-rank." Gon pouted, with Bisky, Lizzy, and I gaping at the card with blank faces.

Next, we were running through a forest to go to our next destination, Dorias.

"Next, let's head to Dorias, the Gambling Town!" Bisky announced.

"Oh, man. Wasn't today supposed to be the monthly contest in Antokiba?" Gon asked.

"We'll be passing through, so let's give it a try!" Killua suggested.

"The winner this month is Team Killua and Gon!" The lady announced, and we cheered for them as they received their prize, a Paladin's Necklace.

"Congrats, you guys!" Lizzy went up to them, as well as Bisky and I.

"Thanks!" Gon smiled innocently, then read the card's description.

"I don't get this description." He said.

"Let's go ask one of the shopkeepers." Killua suggested.

We went to a store where an NPC explained the meaning of the card's description and what it did.

"When you wear this necklace, you can reflect all attack spells directed at you. And if you find and touch any cards under the effect of Clone or Fake, you can restore them to their original form."

"Wow! If we wear this, we won't have to worry about losing any of our cards!" Killua exclaimed.

"Oooh, that necklace is shiny!" Lizzy gazed at the blue-green pendant around Gon's neck, awed by its appearance.

We went through all the cards we have acquired so far - Memory Helmet, Witch's Love Potion, Risky Dice, King White Stag Beetle, Gold Dust Girl, and Paladin's Necklace. Including the ones Lizzy obtained during her training with Bisky earlier - Miniature Mermaid, 3-D Camera, Lonely Sapphire, Doyen's Hair Restorer, Parrot Candy, and Toraemon.

"Wow, we have collected so many cards! Six different specified slot cards, plus six more from Lizzy! You did an awesome job!" Gon beamed, turning to my orange-haired sister.

"Hehe, thanks." She rubbed the back of her neck, smiling sheepishly.

"It sure was a piece of cake." Killua replied.

"Yeah!" The boys high-fived each other for making great progress.

It kinda feels like we're doing what Mom loved to do the most, collecting treasure. No matter how difficult it was to collect certain treasures, she would go all out and be reckless. That's what Grandma Millie told us on the day we moved in with her a long time ago.

The binder beeped, then a voice spoke. "Attention. Another player has cast Contact on you."

"Hey. It's been a while, Gon." A male voice spoke through the binder.

"Who are you?" The said boy asked.

The unknown person chuckled. "Why, you don't remember me? Do you remember the player who took the Sword of Truth from you in Antokiba?"

We gasped in realization, knowing who that player was.

"What do you want?" Gon asked.

"Up for a trade? I have number 66, The Witch's Diet Pill, and 27, Book of V.I.P Passes. You can talk it over with your friends."

"What should we do?" Gon asked, turning to Killua.

When the guy and his buddies arrived, we decided to trade with them. We traded our Witch's Love Potion for a Book of V.I.P. Passes, and watched them leave without saying anything else.

"Well, that was surprisingly uninteresting." Bisky commented.

"Pretty boring, actually." Lizzy replied.

"Kind of a letdown." Killua added.

"I was so nervous. But that's 13 types in just three days! We're making real progress!" Gon stated.

"Let's keep this up!" I exclaimed.

"Are there any other events for getting restricted slot cards?" Killua asked.

"Hmm...I think there are..." Bisky started to think of something.

We were in a casino filled with lots of slot machines. Lizzy beamed at the games around her.

"What is this place?" She breathed in wonder.

"Prizes from the slots?" Gon asked.

"Well, it is the City of Gambling." Killua replied.

"This place looks fun! I wanna play one of those games over there!" Lizzy pointed at a machine, eager to try it out.

"You have a 0.01% chance of winning. That's one in ten thousand." Bisky stated.

"One in ten thousand? Sounds pretty risky." I replied, putting a finger on my chin.

"I know! Gon, use that die!" Killua advised.

The dark-haired boy used Gain on the Risky Dice card, converting it into the actual item.

"This is it! If we get Great Luck, we can win!"

"But what if you get Worst Luck? Something bad will happen that cancels out everything good that's happened to us." Gon briefly explained.

"There's only a one in twenty chance of getting Worst Luck, so no need to worry about that." Killua rolled the die, and it landed on the Great Luck side.

"Yes! Now all we gotta do is hit the slots!" He stopped the machine and got a triple seven.

"Wow! You did it, Killua!" Lizzy cheered.

"First try. That's quite impressive." I remarked.

"I scored a Rainbow Diamond!" The silver-haired male held up the card. I read the description and analyzed it, knowing that it was an A-rank card.

"What? Let me see!" My emerald-eyed sister glanced at the picture, eyes sparkling as she also read the description.

"I want one, too! Give me the die!" She snatched the Risky Dice and went to a slot machine next to where Killua was sitting at.

"Wait, Lizzy—!" I tried to stop her, but she wouldn't listen.

"Please get Great Luck, please get Great Luck!" Taking a deep breath, she rolled the twenty-sided die and fortunately, it landed on a Great Luck side.

"All right!" She stopped the slot machine and luckily got a triple seven like Killua just did. She won a Rainbow Diamond just as expected.

"Yay! I got one!" She giggled delightedly, holding the card against her chest.

Gosh, why can't she be more careful of what she's doing? If she rolled Worst Luck, who knows what might have happened to her?

"It's just like I thought. This little die is the key to winning big time in this city!" Killua picked up the die and gazed at it in astonishment.

"But if you roll Worst Luck, things could get really scary." Bisky worriedly stated.

"Don't worry. It can't kill me or anything—" He was cut off by a loud explosion from ahead of us. A guy was lying on the floor, looking lifeless.

"Oh no! A slot machine exploded!" Someone yelled.

"I knew something was wrong. That guy hit five jackpots in a row!" Another person replied.

"And he was acting weird. He kept rolling some funny-looking die." Someone else added.

"Did he roll Worst Luck?" Lizzy whispered.

"He probably did." I firmly replied.

"Whoa, look! His face is mush!" A man came and revealed the dead guy's very messed up face. Everyone gasped and started murmuring to each other. It looked like a bloody puree, and Lizzy and I shuddered.

As soon as the commotion was over, Killua went back to gambling. I tried to warn him about the consequences of using the Risky Dice too much, but he wouldn't get himself to quit the continuous gambling.

When Killua was about to roll the icosahedron die one last time, Bisky chopped his neck, knocking him out. I had expressionless eyes when that happened.

"Oh, man does he have a gambling problem. Lynn, could you take him with us?" Bisky asked, turning to me.

"What? Why?" I questioned, a pink tint appearing on my cheeks.

"Because you seem strong enough to lift him on your shoulders." She said with a smirk.

That woman is pretty clever in a way I don't see acceptable. Oh my God, will I be flushing tonight...

"Fine. If you insist." I went over to the unconscious boy and carried him out of the casino. He was surprisingly light, to be honest. I could be able to carry objects up to 250 pounds. I assumed he weighed about 100 pounds, which was an easy weight for me to lift.

With Killua on my back, my face couldn't stop showing off a shade of red. Bisky wouldn't stop smirking no matter how much she saw me carrying him. I looked down to hide from embarrassment.

"Okay, on to the next city! Let's go!" The blonde cheered, pumping up a fist in excitement.

It was nighttime, and we stopped to take a rest in the middle of a forest. The campfire was burning, heat radiating from it. It was quite peaceful, the cool breeze blowing on the trees and there were no monsters or hostile players creeping up on us nearby.

I gazed at the stars above me while everyone else was sleeping around the fire. I thought about what we were going to do as soon as we cleared the game and split the reward between us.

"Lizzy?" I heard a whisper next to me. I sat up and turned to see the spiky-haired boy who was still awake.

"Yeah?" I whispered back.

He stood up and held out a hand, smiling so innocently that I felt like my heart would explode just from looking at him.

Without taking any chances, I took his hand and he pulled me up. I was staring into his hazel eyes, confused on why he hadn't been sleeping with me.

"Let's go somewhere where you and I can be alone." He said, dragging me away from everyone else.

"Seriously? This late at night? It's dangerous, isn't it?" I whispered, concerned about our surroundings.

"Don't worry. Nothing will get in my way of spending time with you!" He gave me a toothy grin, leaving me no choice but to give in to his intentions.

We ran until we had reached the edge of a cliff, the moonlight glowing bright in the sky. I stopped to admire the scenery around me. It looked wonderful. A heavenly sky filled with thousands of shiny stars. I loved it.

Gon motioned for me to sit down next to him, and I did. I sat down crisscross applesauce and began to enjoy the serene moment.

Suddenly, I felt his arm wrap around my shoulders, and I was taken aback. My heart did some backflips as I continued gazing at the stars and moon with him.

"Hey, about what you said before we entered the game..." He started, the thought about my confession playing in my head.

"I love you, Gon!"

I looked down, unsure of what he thought about it. Maybe I shouldn't have to go that far in confessing to him, and maybe I shouldn't have kissed him like that, right on the lips.

"You were pretty uncomfortable with it, weren't you? I wouldn't have known if you were happy with me after I said that. You are still a young boy, and there's a lot more to know that you shouldn't know yet." I told him, feeling bad that I made him experience something he didn't know before.

"It's not that, Lizzy! It's just...I've been feeling the same feelings for you ever since I first met you. I didn't exactly know what it was until you told me your feelings for me first. And...I'm really glad you did. I would be a stuttering mess if I were to confess first." The boy chuckled sheepishly and scratched his head.

I stared at him with wide eyes, never expecting something like that from him.

"Even my Aunt Mito wouldn't know what's going on with me unless I tell her! As for Ging, I don't know very much about him. But...if we meet him in person together, then...maybe he can accept the fact that we'll always be together from now on! Won't that be awesome!"

My head unconsciously dropped down to his shoulder, making him giggle. He did sound so pure when it came to romantic moments like this.

His hand patted my head. It was as good as when Lynn used to give me head pats. Not to mention that Gon's aura was calming and free of hostility when I was near him. He was the nicest, most positive, and sweetest boy I'd ever met in my life, and...maybe I did the right thing of confessing all my feelings to him.

A certain blonde was watching us, her face showing joy and delight at the scene in front of her. Gon and I didn't notice her behind us, perhaps she was using Zetsu or something like that.
