《A Twist to Our Futures (Killua X OCs X Gon)》Greed Island - Chapter 8

- Two weeks later -

Lynn and I had been sparring each other using Ryu at a faster speed. The boys were more faster using the technique, relentlessly delivering blows and blocking them as best as they could.

"Okay! Time for a break everyone!" Bisky announced, and we stopped training and bowed to each other.

"Thank you for sparring with me. Osu!" We said to our opponents, gratefully smiling at each other.

"It's been two weeks. You've made a lot of progress. It looks like you all are ready for the final phase of training." She placed her hands on her hips and smiled brightly.

"Final phase?" The boys questioned.

"Yes, you will begin training in individual categories."

"3!" We all pointed at her finger with her aura shaped like the number three.

"Bingo! That's a tie!" She declared excitingly. "You're free to train solely in your own category. In the case of an Enhancer, you'd want to focus on your Enhancer skills, while training in Transmuter and Emitter categories equally. As for a Manipulator, you'll focus on Manipulation skills while training in the nearby Emitter category. However, you won't be able to work on Specialization skills since that is exclusively for Specialists themselves. That'll help you master your own category faster." She explained.

"9!" We shouted what we saw above her finger when she held it up.

"Ding! Another tie!"

"Way to go, everyone!" Gon smiled at us.

"Great job, you guys." Lynn added.

"Yeah, same to you." Killua replied.

"Thanks!" I giggled softly.

"Now, let's get started!" Bisky proclaimed.

"Osu!"

"We'll start training in the Enhancer category today. First exercise: breaking rocks." Bisky picked up a rock and used Shu on it, then smashed another rock with it. "And I want you to break them like this. Smash a thousand with a single stone in a day, and you'll clear the level. Now, begin!"

I picked up a rock and began smashing all the rocks I had. I quickly smashed one before moving on to another one. I continued breaking rocks until my stone crumbled.

"What? It crumbled?" I questioned, gaping at my empty hand where the stone used to be in.

"If the stone in your hand breaks, it's over." Bisky stated.

I whined, clearly knowing that I failed the level.

"Aww, man. Mine crumbled." Gon frowned at his hand.

"So did mine." Lynn replied after her stone crumbled.

"Damn it. I messed it up!" Killua grumbled, falling back to the ground.

"What are you talking about? You certainly did well." Bisky told him, and the silver-haired male stood up.

"Okay, let's do a Transmuter exercise next!" He exclaimed.

"No, I wanna do Manipulator exercises next!" I countered.

"Nah uh, Transmuter!" Killua grumbled in my face.

"Manipulator!" I yelled.

"Transmuter!"

"Manipulator!"

"That's enough, you two! Stop it!" Bisky chastised us for our bitterness. We immediately asserted ourselves from hearing her sharp tone.

"Let's not be too hasty. You're only allowed to train in one category per day." She held up a finger, and I knew what I saw at the second she did it.

"6!" I yelled out along with everyone else.

"All right! Tie again!" She smiled.

"Really? We keep tying lately." Gon commented.

"That just shows that you've all grown a lot accustomed to using Gyo." She stated.

"But it won't be any fun if there's no winner." Killua said.

"Then let's decide with rock-paper-scissors! The loser has to do a thousand push-ups!" Gon suggested.

"Fine by me."

Lynn, Bisky, and I sweatdropped at their little game of rock-paper-scissors. They tied once, then twice, until Gon won by rock against scissors.

"Alright! I won!" He cheered for his victory.

"Damn it." Killua grumbled in defeat and started doing his push-ups.

"Sometimes, boys will just be boys." Lynn muttered under her breath.

"Hey, guys. Have you heard that this game is based on martial arts?" Bisky spoke up, catching their attention as well as ours. She got in a stance, extending her arm.

"Paper represents a palm attack to the organs. Scissors represent a finger jab to the vital points. Rock represents a punch with the fist to deal damage to muscle and bone." She explained while imitating rock, paper, and scissors with her hand. "Long ago, martial arts were called jaken, or evil fist, and were considered so destructive that it was forbidden completely. But masters continued to train by pretending to play. And that's how janken, or rock-paper-scissors first came to be."

"Oh my..." I breathed in wonder at her explanation.

"I never knew." Lynn replied.

"Wow, you're really old." Killua casually remarked, insulting her on purpose. She punched him high in the air, getting more pissed by his disdainful behavior.

"That's it!" Gon realized something, and we turned to him.

"What is it?" I asked.

"Jaken. Evil fist." He spoke softly.

I stared at Gon as he trained in his new special ability, which was based on the game of rock-paper-scissors.

"Show me Rock! Jan! Ken! Rock!" He yelled, smashing a large boulder into pieces with his fist. I gasped and widened my eyes in amazement.

"I see." Bisky said.

"Next up! Show me Rock! Jan! Ken! Paper!" Gon tried to emit his aura, but to no avail. He turned to Bisky for advice.

"Bisky, how do I make my Nen fly?" He asked.

I sweatdropped, Lynn shook her head, and Killua choked.

"You need to train more!" The blonde told him.

"Paper is an Emitter technique?" Killua asked.

"Uh-huh. And Scissors is a Transmuter technique. Pretty soon, I wanna be able to cut through rock!" He exclaimed.

"Oh, yeah! I would love to see that!" I said, my voice sounding cheerful.

"Understood. That's a reasonable fighting technique." Bisky commented.

"You know how much time it takes to focus my Nen into my fist? I was trying to figure out a good way to spend that time. And when you were talking about rock-paper-scissors, it just hit me. Because I like that game." Gon explained.

"Hm. It's important to trust your instincts." She stated. "Gut feelings play a big role in techniques that require multiple categories. The real key is that it should feel right to you."

Killua cleared his throat, and we all turned to him. The next thing he did surprised me a lot. Electricity sparked between his hands, making it an astounding sight to catch a glimpse at.

"Well, this is all I got right now. It's pretty stronger if I charge it up." He stated, deactivating his Hatsu.

"Oh my gosh. That's awesome!" I exclaimed, inpressed by his ability.

"You're like an electric eel!" Gon replied, and the silver-haired male looked deadpanned.

"That's a horrible comparison!" He protested, and I chuckled.

"Would you guys like to see mine?" I asked them, and Gon's face was filled with curiosity as soon as I said that.

"Yeah! I can't wait to see what your ability is!" He beamed.

"I bet it's not as cool as mine." Killua smirked, and I puffed up my cheeks, irritated by his arrogance.

I took out my baton and placed it on the ground. Everyone, including Bisky, watched as I focused my mind and aura on the long weapon, causing it to move up and around. The boys widened their eyes, and Bisky breathed in a low gasp. Lynn grinned at my unique ability, proud to see that I had grown stronger thanks to Bisky's training.

I stopped moving the baton and altered its shape, bending it in half and then turning it into a small round sphere.

"Whoa." Gon and Killua breathed in awe.

"Restore on!" I said, and the baton reverted back to its original shape. I grew a wide and proud smile as I stopped using my ability, grabbing my weapon and putting it away.

"So, what do you think?" I asked.

"That's so cool, Lizzy!" Gon exclaimed. "It's like you're psychokinetic!"

"It's amazing, yet so creepy." Killua commented.

"I can control a single object using my mind and my Nen to strengthen it. I can also deform it and revert it back to how it was." I explained. "I was dying to know if I could move things using my mind, and it turned out to be true. So, this ability is based on the phenomenon."

"How incredibly remarkable!" Bisky commented.

"What about you, Lynn? What's yours?" Gon asked her.

"Yeah, show them your ability, Lynn!" I convinced her, and she nodded.

She began to conjure her four rings, us staring at her in wonder. Then she began explaining about her ability.

"These are my four Elemental Rings, which consist of fire, water, earth, and wind elements. The ruby with a character representing fire is the fire ring. The sapphire with a character representing water is the water ring. The emerald with a character representing earth is the earth ring. The diamond with a character representing wind is the wind ring. It is based on my past life with Grandma Millie and the elements I learned about and exposed myself all of my life."

She turned around and took a few steps forward before explaining more about it. "There is a condition set on my fire ring that I will use it when I am fighting a dangerous enemy. It won't work if I'm not. So I will show you three of the elements here."

Raising her arm slowly in the air, she activated her water ring by chanting, "Aqua Spritz!" Water burst in the air, clearly taking our breath away, especially Killua. She deactivated her water ability and explained one more thing.

"The earth ring has a condition, too. It can only be used outdoors because of its destruction to property indoors. Since this condition is met right now, I will be able to demonstrate how this ability is used." She activated her earth ring and punched the ground, causing huge stones to pop up and move towards a huge boulder, destroying it as soon as they reached it.

"Wow." Killua breathed in astonishment.

"I can also use it for defense as well." She stomped on the ground, causing a stone to pop out in front of her.

She then activated her wind ring, chanting, "Windy Roar!" A gust of wind pushed her off the ground several feet high. She hovered around by tilting her body and moving her arm to change the direction she was going. When she was done, she lowered herself down and deactivated her ability, landing safely on the ground.

"Whoa, that was SO COOL!" Gon's eyes sparkled with pure wonder when he saw almost all of her abilities.

"Your abilities are so strong!" Killua commented, sounding shocked.

"I can say the same thing. How did you get them like that?" Bisky asked.

"I set a Limitation in which I must use all my rings at my own risk. If I hurt anyone that is close to me, such as Lizzy, the rings' powers will be reduced greatly. Doing that for the second time will result in a permanent loss of my Nen." Lynn explained. "That shows my resolve to protect my sister and my friends at all costs. I will risk my life if I have to."

The blonde hummed in response. She got lost in thought for a moment before smiling to herself.

"Well, shall we call it a day?" She asked.

"Hm?"

"It's a bit early, but how about a party?"

"Party? Really?" I said, beaming with excitement.

"What do you boys and girls do to celebrate back home?"

"Celebrate?" Gon asked, confused.

"In the real world, it's almost New Year's, isn't it? Time flows at the same speed inside the game as outside." She stated.

"Wait. Isn't the deadline for the Hunter Exam coming up?" Lynn asked.

"Huh? Oh no! I totally forgot!" Gon cried.

"You need to apply as soon as possible, Killua! Or you won't get to be a Hunter!" I persuaded him.

"Oh, man. And training was about to get fun, too." He sighed, scratching his head.

"I believe you have to apply before the end of the year." Bisky stated.

"Then we have to hurry!" Gon suggested.

"But how do we get out of here?" I asked.

"I'm guessing there are spell cards to leave the game, right?" Killua replied.

"There are. In that case, let's head to Masadora now." Bisky encouraged us to go there.

"Alright!" We all agreed.

We were walking around Masadora in search for information on how to leave the game.

"Well, let's find a place to have some tea!" Bisky cheerfully suggested.

"We can't. We don't have much time." Gon opposed her idea, and she pouted at him.

"We can ask around the stores we go to." Killua said.

We then went to a store where an NPC explained what we had to do in order to leave the game.

"You wanna leave the island? That'll be 3,000 Jenny." He said, and we all looked at each other before nodding.

"If you go about 50 kilometers west, you'll reach the island's only port. You'll need to defeat or bribe the harbormaster. If you do, you'll receive a ticket that will transport you outside."

"A bribe? How big will it be?" I asked, looking at him with big, innocent eyes.

"It depends on what he's feeling." He said.

"I see." Killua muttered.

"Your other option is to use a Leave spell card, but that one's pretty rare."

"So, what should we do?" Gon asked.

"Head to the port. If it's a rare card, it might not even show up no matter how much we spend." Killua stated.

"Good point."

We stood at the port, waiting for Killua to return with the transport ticket. We heard the sound of electricity inside along with a man screaming. The silver-haired boy came out holding up the ticket, smiling smugly.

"Voilà. Well, I'll go ace the exam and come right back." He said, the determination sounding clear in his voice.

"Head to the lone cedar tree that's near Dolle Harbor. Magical Beasts called Kiriko live there. Just tell them that you're my friend, and they'll take you right to the exam site." Gon advised him.

"Make sure to give it all you got!" I gave him an encouraging smile.

"You should be able to pass, since you're talented enough to beat up several opponents." Lynn added, and Killua's smirk grew bigger.

"Yeah, got it. See ya." But before he could start walking away, she called out to him.

"Wait!"

"Huh?" He turned around to see her walking up to him. Her eyes stared into his, a pink tint appearing on his cheeks.

"No matter what you do, don't let anyone stop you from becoming who you want to be." She spoke in a firm tone, reminding him of why he failed the last time. The ex-assassin seemed surprised and awestruck at the same time from hearing her inspiring words.

Then, out of nowhere, she wrapped her arms around him. He was taken aback by the sudden act, his face now becoming red from embarrassment.

"Good luck out there." She softly uttered before parting from him. She walked back to the rest of us, Killua looking at her like he had been captivated by her coolheadedness towards him.

We all waved goodbye as the boat was taking Killua away to the Starting Point, where he would leave the game to take the Hunter Exam. I wouldn't be worried too much since he could handle things on his own. I was certain he would pass.

"Alright then, let's get back to training." Bisky said, turning to us.

"Osu!"

"Okay, you'll train while you run!" Bisky exclaimed as the four of us were running through the forest, trying to form numbers with our Nen.

"You'll pass when you can form the numbers zero to nine within one minute!" She explained.

I tried to make a perfect zero, but it turned out to be sloppy as heck. I noticed Gon ran into a tree, and I skidded to a halt to check on him.

"Are you alright?" I asked him, who was on the ground wincing from the pain.

"That hurt!" He screamed in pain, clutching his head.

"What the heck are you doing?" Bisky asked, walking over to us along with Lynn.

A light came crashing down, revealing the same guy with dark skin we met back when we were discussing about the alliance that all of us refused to join. I saw something on his shoulder, and it was ticking down. Was that a bomb?

"You are..." Bisky recognized him as one of the alliance members.

"So your other friend isn't here?" He asked.

"What's that on your shoulder? Tell me...did something happen?" Her voice was filled with concern.

"The Bomber got us. Please hear me out. I have something to say."
