Isabella groaned as she felt her knees hurt. She was cleaning the halls floor with a toothbrush. The floor was cold against her knees, making them hurt but she endured the pain. She didn't have time to whine about it. She started to get used to the pain as time passed by quickly.

It was dark outside when she finished. She sighed tiredly as she carried the bucket with water outside. She threw the water on the grass before she closed the door of the backyard, locking it.

The King and Queen were resting after they had finished their dinner. Isabella picked the plates from the big, crystal table. She placed them in the sink after she tossed the leftovers to the dogs in the kitchen.

She washed the dishes before she returned to her room. Her room was downstairs with the warehouse. Her room was small, with only a bed in the corner and a small side table beside it and a closet in front of the bed. The walls were painted in a light gray color, making it look a little better since it was one of her favourite colors.

She liked her room. It had everything she needed and she was thankful that she had a place to live. She slipped her suit off and put on a old, faded t-shirt and her sweatpants. She signed as she noticed a new hole on her sweatpants. She doesn't have more sweatpants, only this and she tries to take good care of it.

Deciding that she will sew it tomorrow, she lied on her bed, wincing as she heard it shriek. She instantly felt all the pain and tiredness go away and immediately relax. She closed her eyes, thinking about her life.

She used to live in a small village far away from where she is now. She lived in a small wooded house with her family. She remembered her mother, she was the sweetest and kindest person she had ever met. She was a caring and loving mother. Then she remembered her sweet father. He was a kind man and a amazing father. He loved her mother a lot. She remembered the way they talked about each other, with such love.

It was impossible to forget her beautiful face because she looked like her, she had some characteristics from her father but she looked more like her mother. She had her mothers black soft hair and her curved lips. She had honey brown eyes like her father and she was also short just like her mother.

On night, some soldiers from the palace attacked the village. She was sleeping when her mother run in her room with a horrified look. She quickly grabbed her and pulled her with her, ignoring her daughters questions. Her father was no where to be found. Her mother, Anna, decided to abandon their house and run in the woods. Before she could run any farther, a horse with a guard appeared in front of her.

Anna fell on the mud , surprised and scared but not for her. She looked around to trying to find Isabella as she relished her little hand to catch her herself when she fell on the mud. She finally found her daughter a couple inches away from her. Isabella was scared. She didn't know why her mother was standing nor who this scary man was. Her hands were shaking from fear as the guard followed her mothers gaze and looked at her. A devilish smirk formed on his lips, senting chill down her spine.

He came down from the white horse and approached her slowly. His smirk widening as he saw her cower back in fear and tears started falling down her chubby cheeks. Her back hit the tree, she looked around trying to find a way to escape but there wasn't. The man was, now, standing in front of her, he took out his sword and before he could stab her, Anna hit him with rock from behind him. He stumbled back, touching the spot she hit him.

Anna crunched in front of her daughter. She firmly grabbed her forearms, snapping her out of her shock." Sweety, I want you to run as fast as possible. Run away from here. Just run" She tried to look calm for her daughter but her teared filled eyes and shaking hands betrayed her.

"Why can't we leave together mommy? I don't want to leave you here. I don't like this man, mommy. Can we leave together, please?" She asked her mother confused as to why she couldn't leave with her. She started to think that she didn't want her, even just the though brought fresh tears to her eyes.

"Look what we are going to do, you will run and I will be behind you, ok? Everything's gonna be alright, baby. I just want you to know Mommy and Daddy loves you,ok? Never forget that." She said, smiling weakly at her.

Isabella nodded, not knowing what was happening. " I love you too, Mommy and Daddy, too!." She said as her eyes watered, she wasn't feeling good. Her mother smiled happily before she pushed her to run. Isabella took a few steps but stopped when she didn't hear her Mother behind her.

She turn around and gasped in terror as her mother laid on the ground with a lack of blood around her. Her mother slowly raised her head and gave her a weak smile as tears kept falling, her eyes shining with love before she closed her eyes, leaving her last breath.

Tears run down Isabella's cheeks as she found it hard to breath. Her sweet mother was laying there lifeless. She couldn't believe it. She wanted to scream and yell but she couldn't, not now. She had to leave and save herself because that's what her mother would want her to do.

She took on last glance at her mother before she run. Run like she had promised, run from everything and everyone. She run like she never had before in her life. She run not caring if her lungs burn of her bear feet bleed. She run away from there.

She didn't know how long she had been running but she decided to take a break. She had reached a cliff, she climbed and sat on the stone. It was day now, she had been running for a whole night. Sweat run down her face as she panted. She was tired, hungry and scared.

She looked at the view in front of her and saw smoke from the distance. It was from her village. They burned it down. Isabella felt her tears escape. She cried and cried, taking everything out. She yelled from frustration. She wanted her mother and father. She still couldn't believe she witnessed her mothers death. She didn't know where her father was. She felt a spark of hope filling her at the possible idea that her father might be alive.

Ever since then she kept wondering around. Days passed when she reached the Castle, she was starved and dehydrated from the lack of water. She had bruises on her body from falling from exhaustion. The king and Queen took her in as a maid since they pitied her for being alone and in that condition.

It's been 5 years since then but it felt like yesterday. Since then, she hadn't talk to anyone. She was quite and never complained about something. She was kind with everyone but she never talked. She could but she didn't want to. They know her as the muted girl. The other maids would make fun of her but she just ignored them. She didn't have any friends and she was okay with that.

She wiped the tears that fell and shook her head in an attempt to get rid of these memories. She decided that she should better sleep because she has to wake up early in the morning. She took her small warm blanket and covered herself. She sighed in content, closing her eyes. Soon sleep took over her body drifting to dream land.
