《Prisoner 138 {The 100} [1]》Chapter 4: Bellamy

"Damn it, Ari. I almost killed you," Bellamy spat, removing the ax from the tree trunk. "Why aren't you back at camp?" he asked.
"I didn't want to be there anymore, I got bored," I explained as Charlotte climbed down the tree slowly.
Bell looked at the small blonde then back to me. "Great you dragged someone else with you."
"There are grounders out here it's too dangerous for little girls," Atom, a boy with green eyes and short brown hair said looking down at Charlotte and I.
"We're not little," I spat, glaring up at him and standing my ground.
His signature smirk danced across his freckled face as the oldest Blake look between Atom and I. "Okay then, but you can't hunt without weapons," Bellamy said, pulling a small makeshift knife from his back pocket, holding it out to me. I bit the side of my cheek, looking down at the knife in his hand. "Ever killed something before?" he asked. I shook my head, not taking my eyes from the knife. "Who knows maybe you'll be good at it."
I slowly reached for the knife, glancing as Charlotte as I did so. I gripped the handle tightly as I followed Bellamy as he went to catch up to the others in his group that were chasing the pig. Every few minutes I would look over my shoulder, making sure the Charlotte was right there behind me.
After a little while of walking and getting to know more about the only other criminal my age, the forests suddenly became unsettlingly quiet as everything seemed to stop. There was no insects chirping, no small animals running around and creepiest of all, there was no wind whatsoever. We stopped in our tracks, unsure why it had suddenly became so silent.
The yelping and screeching of a flock of birds flying above us broke the quiet atmosphere, the pig we had been following was long gone.
I turned my head to look up at the group of birds flapping their wings against the hard wind, a dark orange colored fog following it close behind. The fog looked as if it could kill anything in its path with its thick cloud and what looked to be lightning flashing in it.
"Bellamy!" I yelled to get his attention. He whipped around to face my direction, seeing the fog in front of us, all the color in his face draining.
A loud bellowing sound of a horn made us all jump, looking around in many directions to try and find where it was coming from. "Is that a warning?" Atom asked as the fog got closer.
I could feel my hands start to shake and my heart rate increase. Bellamy grabbed my arm and we started to run, Charlotte following close behind. "Come on there are caves up ahead," Bell explained, starting to run faster, short legs barely being able to keep up with Bellamy's long ones.
The three of us ran up a hill, Bellamy pushing Charlotte and I in front of him so we could get into the nearest cave first, running into safety. Bell, waited at the entrance, looking for any sign that would tell him the others were okay, but as the fog got closer, it made it harder for him to breath, causing him to retreat back into the cave with Charlotte and I.
I sat on a flat rock, leaning against the wall trying to catch my breath as Charlotte sat next to me, Bell dropped to the ground with a grunt, rubbing his hand through his curly hair.

It was silent for a while as we tried to wait out the fog, no one spoke with made the time go by slower then we would have liked. I uncontrollably shivered as a gust of wind passed by giving me goosebumps.
"Oh uh here." Bellamy began, pulling off his jacket.
I shook my head, "Oh no, you don't have to," I tried to protest but he hung his jacket off my shoulders anyways. We sat like this for a while as it grew darker by the minute.
I got up from my spot on the uncomfortable rock, not being able to sit still anymore and began to walk around the small space of the cave, almost pacing in order to keep myself busy. Bellamy's long jacket came down to my knees and I had to roll up the sleeves a few times before I could see my hands again.
"Can you please stop pacing?" The oldest Blake asked a little annoyed.
I stopped. "Uh, I-I'm sorry," I apologize, playing with my hands to keep me busy. I walked over to him and sat down, not making any eye contact.
He let out a sigh, rubbing his forehead. "It's fine, it's just, it's getting late. Shouldn't you be getting to sleep like her?" He pointed to Charlotte who was laid on the uncomfortable rock, her eyes closed as she slept.
I shrugged, pulling the large jack off me and draping it over over the sleeping girl. "I don't sleep much," I explained before sitting back down next to Bellamy. He had attempted to make a small fire but there just wasn't enough wood or leaves. "You aren't a guard are you?" He looked down at me, confused. "It's just, you came down with us in the dropship dressed as a guard but yet you seem to hate the Ark and everyone on it. I don't think a guard would be that hostile towards the people who he's employed by."
He took his time thinking about how to respond. "It's a complicated situation."
"So you are a guard?"
"No," he shook his head, "I'm not a guard. I snuck on the ship so I could be with Octavia, so I could make sure she's okay."
I nodded, listening to him as he explained his story. "Well, you're a great brother." I confessed. Something in his eyes shined for a split second before it went away. My stomach growled, aching for food that I haven't eaten in about a day. I chuckled to try and play it off, a little embarrassed.
Bellamy looked down at his ax, picking at the wooden handle. "You should get some sleep." I nodded, lying on the ground, using my head as a pillow, trying to find a comfortable position to sleep in.
-
I shot up from my position on the hard ground with a scream, looking around the cave quickly. Bellamy sat in front of me with a shocked look on his face. Tears were streaming down my face as I tried to catch my breath.
"Hey, Ari calm down, it was just a bad dream," Bell said calm and gently, placing his hand on my shoulder. I still could barely breathe and tears were running down my cheeks like two waterfalls.
"I-I'm sorry," I sobbed, pulling my knees to my chest, sniffling.
"Does that happen often?" I nodded, leaning back on the cold cave wall. "What are you scared of?" He asked with concern in his voice. My eyes stared down at the rip in my jeans as I played with the loose strings. "You know what, it doesn't matter. The only thing that matters is what you do about it." He rested his arm on my knee as a way to comfort me.

"B-but I'm asleep, how can I do anything if I'm asleep?" I asked lifting my head up a bit.
"Fears are fears. If you slay your demons when you're awake, they won't be there to get you when you're asleep."
"Yeah, but how am I supposed to 'slay demons' when my only demon is dead," I asked.
"You can't afford to be weak, not anymore. Down here weakness is death, fear is death," he made it a point to look me right in the eyes, "Now whenever you feel scared or worried, I want you to close your eyes tight and tell yourself that you're not afraid." I gave him a reassuring nod as he waited for me to do as told.
I took a deep breath and closed my eyes tight. "I'm not afraid," I stated before opening my eyes again. He lifted a brow slightly, giving a look that told me he knew I could do better. "I am not afraid," I said this time with more force and power in my voice.
He smiled, looking proud. "Slay your demons kid," he said smirking, "Then you'll be able to sleep." I nodded, giving him a weak smile. The guy who had been known for his harsh behavior and rudeness towards the other prisoners put his arm around me gently in order to comfort me. The last thing I thought I would be doing was resting my head in the lap of Bellamy Blake.
Unknown to the two of us, the girl who we thought was fast asleep next to us was actually wide awake and listening to our whole conversation. Had we known she was awake, Bellamy could have explained the idea behind slaying your demons more, and the events of the following days may not have occurred as they did.
-
The next morning I woke up to the sun shining into the dark cave. I slowly sat up rubbing my eyes. Bellamy was already awake, watching me along with Charlotte. "The fogs cleared up. Come on, we have to find the others," he said standing.
I followed his lead as the three of us walked out of the cave. "Anybody out here!?" Bellamy yelled. I stood at the entrance letting my eyes adjust to the bright sun. "Jones!"
"We're here!" Someone called out. We followed the sound of the voice, finally meeting up with the rest of the group that was hunting yesterday, all except for Atom who was still nowhere to be found.
"Lost you guys in the stew. Where'd you go?" Bellamy asked.
"We made it to a cave down the hill. The hell was that?"
"I'm not sure. Where's Atom?" Bell looked around at the group. Everyone glanced at each other and shrugged. From the bushes behind us, I could hear movement.
I grabbed Charlotte's arm. "What?" she asked.
"There's something over there." I pointed to the bush. The two of us slowly followed the sound as the others talked. We came across something that I know neither of us will forget. Lying on the ground, struggling to breath, Atoms body twitched. The boy was burned really bad, with blister all over him and his green eyes were clouded over.
I grabbed onto Charlotte who grabbed onto me as we screamed at the top of our lungs, frightened by the sight. This grabbed the attention of the group and Bellamy ran over to us as fast as he could. He stopped in his tracks as soon as he saw what was in front of us. Tears ran down my face as Atom struggled to say something.
The oldest Blake knelt down beside the boy he had come to know over the few day on the ground. Charlotte held me a sad expression on her face as I tried my best to stop crying. The rest of the group came over and saw what was happening before them. The fear and hurt in their eyes was unforgettable.
"Go back to camp," Bellamy told us, his voice cracking. I stood there for a second watching, not being able to move. "You too girls." I nodded, grabbing Charlotte's hand, turning to follow everyone else back to camp.
Once we got back to camp Charlotte and I sat in silence for a little while. The group came back, along with Clarke, Finn and Wells, some carrying a body on a stretcher that had a jacket covering the face. I knew it was Atom.
The expressions that covered their faces was cold and sad, giving the vibe that they were not to be talked to. Octavia was the first to approach the group. Bellamy tried to hold back his sister from seeing the boy she had fallen for who had been killed from the poisonous fog.
The youngest Blake pushed past her brother, pulling the jacket off the body. She covered her mouth to quiet her sobs.
Deciding I couldn't stand the sight, I walked into the dropship, climbing to the top floor to check on Jasper. Monty was sitting beside him just as I expected. "Is Clarke back?" Monty asked. I nodded my head, sitting down beside him. Almost on cue, Clarke came up the ladder with boiled water, followed by Finn. Apparently, her, Finn and Wells went out to find a special seaweed to make a tea out of for Jasper to drink in order to help his infection.
She placed the red seaweed in the water as Finn mixed it up, letting it brew before Clarke filled a cup with the tea and helped Jasper swallow is. No we play the waiting game.
-
Octavia, Finn, Monty and I were in a circle talking about stupid stuff, waiting for Jasper to wake up when Finn pulled out a bottle of whiskey from his bag. I stared at it as he lifted the bottle to his mouth, taking a sip before passing it to Monty. He hesitantly took the bottle and drank from it making a sour face as he did.
"Can I try?" I asked.
"Think you can handle it, kid?" Finn asked smiling. I nodded, taking the drink from Monty's hand.
I put the heavy bottle to my lips, hesitating before letting the burning liquid run down my throat. I scrunch my face at the taste, letting out a cough. "Ech. Never, Never again." I gagged shaking my head, causing the others to laugh. "Seriously, why would anyone drink that?"
I immediately passed the bottle to Octavia, who didn't think twice about swallowing the 100 year old liquor, giving no reaction. "Disgusting, love it," she confessed, handing the bottle out to Finn.
"Can I uh, have a hit of that?" Jasper asked lifting his head up. The three of us froze for a moment, not expecting him to rise from the dead so soon. Once the momentary shock went away, we jumped up running over to him.
"Let's start with the soft stuff," Finn chuckled picking up a cup of water, helping him drink.
"Was that a dream or did I get spread?" Jasper joked, making us laugh.
Clarke chuckled walking over to the injured boy. "You'll have a very impressing scar to prove it."
"My Savior."
"Thank you, for not dying," Clarke said with a sigh.
He smiled and he turned his head towards her. "I'll try not to die tomorrow too if that's cool." I nodded my head. "Oh, hello." He perked up seeing Octavia by his side. There was not one person in that room who wasn't smiling. It was the perfect atmosphere, one we would wish for the next few days. This was the calm before the storm and no one knew it.
AN
Sorry this chapter was kinda horrible but it's a lot of work to make this story. I'm not complaining. I love writing it and all but. I watch the show as i write so it kinda hard because i want to follow the show as much as possible only in the viewpoint of Ari.
Edit: Hello, so I wrote this story years ago and now I'm revising it so there may be some confusion with old comments. Originally in the story I made it so Charlotte stayed at the camp instead of going with Ari and Bellamy and getting stuck in the cave, but looking back I felt it was stupid not to have her there since a big part of her story had to do with that scene. So I'm sorry for any confusion and I hope this clears it up.

8 200Notebook of possibilities
First of all, to those who started reading this I want to apologize. While it does have a ring of a nice story title, this is going to be a place where I take the Sparks of interest from other stories or random ideas and just put it down, I'm not sure how exactly but the title should summarize the basics of what is held within. To say it's a waste isn't accurate, to ask the question why is a good start, why would I want this? Because when I read a story I want to think of so many things I may see or find in the world they envision, all the possibilities that could come about, and maybe, just maybe, some author out there can get their hands on this and it will be a spark of creativity for them to make a new chapter and see their world even a smidge closer to what I think it could be. It is tagged as fanfiction for it will pertain to numerous stories, not simply one in particular. Currently it will include; Oblivion Online Dungeon Heart And many more to be listed as they appear.
