《Prisoner 345 {the 100}》Chapter 8: Contents Under Pressure ✯

Everyone was inside right now. It was raining heavily outside. Apparently, it's called a storm. Octavia had told me about a grounder saving her life, who deserved better. I believed her and wanted to meet this grounder.
In the mean time, Raven had managed to contact the Ark. Clarke was talking to her mum on what to do to save Finn. I hoped he would make it. I couldn't just stand there and do nothing so I climbed up the ladder to the second level of the drop ship where I saw Bellamy, a guy tied to two beams and a few other men. Octavia told me about Bellamy trying to get answers from the grounder. But that grounder didn't do anything. He even saved Octavia's life. Clarke was there too and so was Octavia. I walked over to her, holding her hand. Clarke was yelling at the grounder.
"Clarke, he doesn't understand you.", Octavia tried.
"The vials. It's gotta be here.", Bellamy said and he and Clarke walked over to a table.
"Which one?", Clarke yelled over to the grounder. I felt so bad for him.
"Answer the question.", Bellamy yelled. I've never seen them like this. This desperate.
"Show us. Please", Octavia begged still holding my hand.
"Which one?", Clarke asked again but the grounder didn't say a word. I was mentally begging the grounder to talk. "Our friend is dying down there and you can stop that."
Bellamy sniffled. "We'll get him to talk.", He said and when I knew what he was going to do Octavia grabbed his arm.
"Bellamy, no!", She yelled.
"He wants Finn to die! Why can't you see that? Do you want him to live or not?", Bellamy asked Clarke.
"Clarke you even said it yourself, this is not who we are.", Octavia tried to convince Clarke. "He was protecting me. He saved my life."
"We're talking about Finn's life.", Bellamy stated and as much as I wanted Finn to live, torturing the grounder wasn't justified. I remember how me and my brother got abused by our uncle. (Yet again, not my actual uncle.)

It was the worst. Fortunately for us, he got floated. From that day on, I swore to myself I would never let something like that happen to anyone especially if I could do something about it.
"Do it.", Clarke said.
"No.", I spoke up. Bellamy didn't listen and walked over to what looked like seat belts. He ripped the grounders shirt open with a knife.
"You're gonna show us the antidote, or you're gonna wish you had.", Bellamy commanded. And then he hit his first strike.
"Bellamy, stop!", I yelled trying to run to him but Miller grabbed me from behind. I tried to get out of his grip but he was too strong. Then, strike 2. "Bellamy! Just stop!", I yelled again but he acted like he didn't hear me whilst I knew he heard me loud and clear.
Clarke knelt down in front of the grounder.
"Please. Which one's the antidote?", Clarke asked the grounder. I gave the grounder a hopeful look.
"Just tell them.", Octavia pleaded but the grounder stayed quiet. Damn it. Bellamy shoved Clarke aside and he hit the grounder. Again. And again. That look on his face, it became so familiar. I never thought Bellamy was capable of this. He even scared me right now. I was scared of Bellamy Blake, not that that's something new. I just thought I knew him now. But I didn't.
"Enough!", Octavia yelled.
"Clarke, he's getting worse.", I heard Raven yell from downstairs. Jesus, she wasn't helping.
"We're running out of time. Which one? Which one is it?", Clarke asked and knelt down again. "If you tell us, they'll stop. Please, tell us which is the antidote and they'll stop this."
The grounder kept his mouth shut and Bellamy threw away the seat belts. A weight left my shoulders and I let out a breath I didn't realise I was holding. But then Bellamy walked back to the grounder.
"If that didn't work, then maybe this will.", The oldest Blake spoke up and I couldn't believe what he just said. I had told him about my uncle, how come he still kept going? "Clarke, you don't have to be here for this."

"I'm not leaving until I get that antidote.", Clarke stated. Why? Why were they like this?
"Last chance.", Bellamy spoke up to the grounder. The grounder didn't say a word and Bellamy put the spike through the grounder's hand. I felt like I was gonna throw up.
"Bellamy, stop! Don't do this! He didn't do anything, just stop, please!", I cried out. I lunged forward but Miller kept holding me back and I tried to slap him but he was too strong.
Raven came up and she grabbed something to electrocute the grounder with. I couldn't watch anymore and kicked Miller who let go of me and lunged myself on Raven but I felt someone grab my waist and held me back as I started screaming she had to stop. I soon enough found out Bellamy was holding me back and I wanted to hate him right now.
"Let go of me!", I yelled but Bellamy tightened his grip. Somehow I managed to get myself free but instead of helping the grounder, I ran to the ladder and climbed down, taking in everything that had just happen.
The storm was over so I ran outside and laid down to the nearest tree. I hated all of them. Don't they have a heart? That was a human being they were torturing. He didn't do anything to them. What if he couldn't even understand us? I had so many questions and felt the anger boiling inside of me. I saw Bellamy and Clarke talking and looked away. I was so angry at both of them.
After about 10 minutes Bellamy walked over to me so I stood up and walked away but he grabbed my arm. I tried to pull back but he tightened his grip around my wrist.
"Let go.", I demanded him and I tried to pull back again but it was no use.
"Aaliyah, I-", He started but I didn't want to hear it.
"No! I don't understand! How could you do this? I thought you were different. Do you have any idea what you've done? That's an actual person. We can't just torture people so we can survive!", I yelled. I tried to pull my arm back again but he was too strong. "What if you killed him? That was such a psycho move! You weren't even thinking and I thought you told Octavia to think first? You told her your life ended the day she was born. Well, my life ended the day I met you." I instantly regretted saying that. I did pull my arm out of his grip though. I honestly scared myself by all the things I had just said. I never knew I would even have the courage to say that.
"No, you're the one who doesn't understand! This is what we have to do to survive! I would love to explain it to you, but you're just a little girl. You don't know anything about this world. But you need to grow the hell up! This is the real world! And if this is what I had to do to save Finn, then I'd do it again.", Bellamy yelled and I was taken back by his loud voice. Then again, he was probably taken back too by my sudden anger outburst. I was scared and angry.
"You still didn't have the right to do that! What if he's innocent?", I cried out.
"Don't you get it? Not all people are good! Down here, we have to make the hard choices, if we want to survive. It's killed or be killed. When you get older, you'll understand why we did this.", Bellamy tried.
"Never.", I scoffed and walked away, leaving Bellamy like that.
I closed my eyes, wishing we were back at the Ark.

Path of Righteousness
What do you desire? What are you afraid of? You run away from one, pursuing the other. Is that all you are? Conquer your fears. Dig to the bottom and confirm, what you really want... ...For you cannot escape suffering and death. You only have a little time. Use it wisely. Uru, a young boy with no talent for magic or fighting, sets out on a quest to become an avatar of order, the physical embodiment of righteousness, in a distant future, where control of origin energy allows people to defy physics and manipulate causality. Mocked by fate and broken by impossible dreams, all that's left is to stand in defiance to cruel existence. Because there is a Truth out there, somewhere. Singular, transcendent, eternal. What would you sacrifice for it? *** This is a fantastic sci-fi epic. It's going to blend both western and eastern traditional fantasy tropes – like might & magic and cultivation – with rational sci-fi grounded fully in reality, to produce a purely fictional fairy tale. I'd like to deliver something light-hearted and yet wholly serious. An uplifting adventure exploring the unfathomable reaches of humanity, free of indecency, with a healthy dose of humorous banter, legendary beings, and most importantly – lots of exciting, firework-filled mayhem! I've tried reading many web novels, but there's a fundamental problem with them – the eastern ones are annoyingly repetitive, superficial and morally destitute, while western ones are often dark, convoluted and profane. There's only so much one can do to filter out the bad and try to fill in the gaps with their own imagination. It's one thing to eat tasty fast food, but if it's moldy and filled with toxins, then it's not only poisonous, but also disgusting. The appreciation of beauty and higher values is disappearing at an alarming rate. Although there are throngs of talented people out there, none of them are creating what I want to witness – an inspiring battle against impossible odds, ending in absolute victory. A triumph of the spirit so overwhelming, it crushes the spectator into his seat and takes his breath away. I'm looking for a real paragon, so now I'd like to try conceiving one. *** The MC's name comes from Tolkien's Elven dictionary in Silmarillion, 'Uru' meaning 'Fire', and 'Dagnir an Uruloki' meaning 'Slayer of Dragons'. *** Note: I'm neither a native speaker, nor an aficionado of literature – I've never written anything before, and despite proficient English my literary prowess is abysmal. It therefore takes me a painful amount of effort to polish the chapters and bring them up to par. Last year I wrote and posted some on FictionPress, but I stopped since it wasn't going anywhere. The appalling amount of filth and mediocrity being peddled in all the media nowadays – a result of no conspiracy to manipulate the masses, but plain supply and demand – is no longer just the triumph of form over substance, but most worryingly corruption of the latter. Who wants to read about ideals anymore? And yet, masses flock together to gobble up perversion and depravity. That being said, I can't rule out pitiful exposure as the culprit to my failure, so I am now once again trying to increase it here, possibly for the last time. If there are still human beings present, hungry or in need of a detox after eating too much garbage, make yourselves heard, so I can see a reason to continue the story. Otherwise it's pointless – I'm not going to make fodder for the masses, and I'm most certainly not going to throw pearls before swine. I'll simply stop writing altogether.
