《Prisoner 345 {the 100}》Chapter 5: The Truth ✯

"Oh my god!", Clarke yelled grabbing an axe to cut the rope Murphy was tied up with.
I stood there shocked. What the hell was Charlotte doing? I looked over at Bellamy who gave me a disappointed look. I wanted to say something but it felt like my throat was burning. I couldn't say anything. Just looking around where I saw people looking at me and whispering about me.
✯
"Bring out the girl, Bellamy!", I heard Murphy scream. He was going to hurt me. After Charlotte's 'revealing' Bellamy brought me and Charlotte into a tent with Clarke and Finn. I still hadn't said a word.
"Why, Aaliyah?", Bellamy asked me.
"I didn't do anything!", I whispered. Bellamy was scaring me right now, nothing new, though. Everyone was scaring me right now. It was gonna be really hard to prove my innocence.
"She did.", Charlotte said looking at me. I couldn't read an emotion from her face.
"I didn't! You're a liar!", I hissed. "I swear, I didn't do anything!", I panicked, raising my voice.
"Aaliyah, please, just, let Charlotte talk. Charlotte, what happened?", Bellamy said making me look at him shocked. No need for that attitude.
"This morning she was acting weird. I decided to not talk to her but then I asked her what was wrong and she made me promise not to tell anyone.", Charlotte spoke up and I looked at her in disbelief as she continued, "She told me she killed Wells, because she was trying to slay her demons. She told me you told her that." I was just shaking my head at everything she said.
I couldn't bring out a word yet again. Since Bellamy was already pissed I decided to shut my mouth until he asked me something. I didn't do anything and I never thought no one would believe me.
"What the hell is she talking about?", Clarke asked Bellamy. Way to go, Clarke, I was thinking the exact same thing. What the hell is she doing? Is she protecting the real killer? And why would she do that?
"She misunderstood me. Aaliyah, that is not what I meant.", Bellamy said calm looking at me.
I was about to say I didn't do anything when Murphy yelled.
"Bring the girl out now!", He yelled. Now I was completely freaking out.
"Bellamy, I am telling you the truth, I didn't do it. I don't know what she's talking about.", I said looking at Charlotte. My shyness was all gone, I was trying to prove a point here.
"Yes, you do. Just tell them what you told me, it's okay.", Charlotte said. Was she sick in her head or something?
"But I didn't tell you anything! Please don't let them hurt me.", I said turning to Bellamy.
"If you guys have any bright ideas, speak up.", Bellamy said looking at Finn and Clarke whilst I looked at Charlotte, and let's say if looks could kill, she'd be dead. "Now you stay quiet?" Bellamy said raising his voice when no one answered him.
"Those are your boys out there.", Finn immediately replied, defending him and Clarke.
"This is not my fault. If she'd listened to me, those boys would still be building the wall.", Bellamy fired back.
"You wanna build a society, princess?", Murphy started, "Let's build a scociety. Bring her out!"
"No! Please, Bellamy. I didn't do this. Don't you believe me?", I asked him hoping he would say he did believe me. I needed someone to believe me. Even if it was just one person, just someone.

"Look, Aaliyah, it's going to be okay. Just stay with them.", He said as he grabbed my shoulders.
"Do you believe me?", I asked him. He gave me an apologetic look as he ran out of the tent.
"I'll take that as a no.", I mumbled so only I could hear it. Charlotte was still looking at me.
"What are you looking at?", I hissed, looking at her with a death glare.
"We don't have time for this. Let's go.", Finn said. Woah, he didn't believe me either I see. Charlotte had no idea what she's done. I could get killed for this. Something I didn't do and she knew I didn't. Why was she protecting the real killer? Would they have threatened her?
We all walked away of camp. I hated the fact that Charlotte was coming with us but now it may give me a chance to let her tell the others what actually happened.
"Aaliyah! Aaliyah, I know you can hear me! And when I find you, you are going to pay!", I heard Murphy yell from camp. I was screwed. I hate Charlotte. How did I not see how crazy she was? She knows I'll get killed for this and she's not doing anything about it. This is her fault and I will never forgive her. And that's a promise.
Finn, Clarke, Charlotte and me started running to who knows where.
✯
"It's gonna be night soon, Finn. Where are we going?", Clarke asked Finn after like an hour of walking. "At least tell me you have a plan and we're not just wandering aimlessly through the woods."
"I have a plan.", Finn spoke up not stopping.
If Charlotte and I would still be friends we would hold each others hand right now. I decided to hold Clarke's hand then but she slapped it away.
"What the hell do you think you're doing?", She snapped as everyone stopped walking to look at us.
"I-", I started but Clarke cut me off.
"Just because we saved you doesn't mean you're forgiven. Got it?", Clarke snapped.
"Clarke. She's just a kid.", Finn defended me. Would he believe me?
"She's a killer. You killed someone, Aaliyah. Ended his life. Did you stop to think about that for even one second?", Clarke snapped and I was scared to look at her. "Look at me! You can't just kill someone to make yourself feel better."
"I didn't kill Wells!", I snapped. "I didn't do a thing." I was beyond mad. I was furious. Charlotte rolled her eyes.
"What are you doing? Who are you protecting?", I yelled walking over to Charlotte ready to hit her.
"Stop lying. It's no use. Just tell them the truth, it'll lift a lot of weight of your shoulders, trust me.", She said. I couldn't believe what I just heard.
"Aaliyah!", Murphy screamed right in time or I would've hit Charlotte.
"Clarke and Finn can't save you!", I heard Murphy yell. I was so scared.
"We should run.", Clarke said as she grabbed me and Charlotte.
"Yeah, that's one way to go. I like my plan better", Finn said as Murphy didn't stop yelling things.
Finn opened a hatch which led us to a bunker. I didn't know about this place. It was cool, though. We all climbed down as Finn told us too. Finn closed the hatch and we looked around whilst he lit some candles so we could see properly.
Later that night, me and Charlotte had to go to bed and luckily for me there were 2 beds. Finn covered me in the blankets and I think they thought I was asleep. I wasn't, though.

They were talking but I didn't pay much attention since I was trying to fall asleep. Until Clarke said my name.
"What are we gonna do about her?", Clarke asked Finn, obviously talking about me and what I 'did'. "If I hadn't confronted Murphy, none of this would've happened."
"How could you know it'd go down like that?", Finn asked Clarke making a good point.
"Bellamy knew. We think the Grounders are a threat but now we're killing each other. There have to be consequences.", Clarke stated.
"We can't just let them hang people. Hopefully, we figure it out before Murphy kills us for helping her.", Finn said and that hit me the most of all. They didn't believe me and now Murphy would kill them for helping me, for a crime I didn't commit. I had to get out of here before Murphy found them.
✯
I kept running through the woods. As far as I could. After 10 minutes, I was tired so I stopped. Suddenly, I felt someone grab me from behind so I started screaming when a hand covered my mouth and turned me around. It was Bellamy who sushed me.
"Let me go!", I yelled trying to get Bellamy's hand off my arm. I didn't need his protection. He didn't believe me anyway. I didn't want anyone to help me.
"I'm trying-", He said but I walked away and he stopped me.
"Hey, hey, I'm trying to help you.", Bellamy told me.
"You don't even believe me, so stop helping me.", I raised my voice and ran away from him. "I didn't do it.", I screamed as loud as I could when Bellamy grabbed me.
"Are you trying to get us both killed?", Bellamy asked me losing his patience.
"Just go, okay? I don't want your help. I don't need anyone's help.", I told him.
"Okay, Aaliyah, listen to me. I won't leave you.", He told me.
"What's the point? You don't believe me. You actually think I killed a person. How can you even consider something like that?", I asked him as I was about to cry.
"Why would Charlotte make up a story like that? Look, we're alone now and I'm trying to help you. Just tell me the truth.", He said obviously not believing me.
"I didn't do it.", I sobbed. I waited for him to reply, to tell me he believed me and we would get out of this together. But instead of that he didn't say a word. He didn't even look at me. That's it. I slapped his arms of my shoulders and ran the opposite way of him.
"Aaliyah.", He whisper-screamed. He grabbed me and threw me over his shoulders.
"No, let me go! I don't want your help! Let go of me!", I yelled and slapped him on his back.
"Come on out, Aaliyah! Come on out!", I heard Murphy yell. No, no, no, this was bad. I don't know why but Murphy didn't stop me from screaming. I guess I was just at the point where I didn't care anymore. I was furious, at Charlotte, at Bellamy for not believing me. At everyone.
"No! No, stop, let go of me!", I screamed. "No, stop! Put me down!"
"Aaliyah!", Murphy yelled. He sounded close.
Damn it, why always me?
Bellamy finally put me down and I wanted to run but there was this huge cliff in front of us. This was the moment I was pooped.
"Damn it.", Bellamy mumbled.
"Bellamy!", A sudden voice frightened me and I saw Murphy and his boys walking towards us. I started panicking. I think if no one was here I would just start crying. "You cannot fight all of us, give her up."
"Maybe not. But I guarantee I'll take a few of you with me.", Bellamy spoke. He really had to stop. Why was he doing this if he didn't believe me? I know he didn't 'cause if he did, he would've just told me.
Suddenly, Clarke, Finn and Charlotte arrived.
"Bellamy! Stop.", Clarke yelled. "This has gone too far. Just calm down, we'll talk about this."
Murphy looked at me for a while and then grabbed Clarke and spun her around, holding a knife to her throat.
"I am sick, listening to you talk.", Murphy said.
"Let her go!", Finn yelled.
"Back off! I will slit her throat.", Murphy threatened.
"No, stop! Please, don't hurt her.", I said.
"Don't hurt her? Okay, I'll make you a deal. You come with me right now, I will let her go.", Murphy stated.
"Don't do it, Aaliyah.", Clarke told me.
I was about to walk to Murphy, getting killed for something I didn't do. But Bellamy held me back.
"No, I have to!", I yelled but he grabbed my shoulders so I couldn't go anywhere.
"Murphy this is not happening.", Bellamy said.
"Murphy, please let her go, okay? I didn't kill Wells.", I told him.
"Then why is your little friend saying you did?", He said making everyone look at Charlotte who started crying. She walked towards me.
"I can't let any of you get hurt anymore. Not because of me. Not after what I did.", After she said those words everyone looked shocked at her.
"Why?", I asked her. "Why would you do this?", I yelled totally freaking out.
"When you told me Bellamy told you to slay your demons, I did slay my demon. When Murphy got hanged, I knew I couldn't let him die because of something I did. I was ashamed and didn't dare to tell anyone. I thought they wouldn't kill a child so I said you did it. So, I didn't have to carry the weight and be ashamed.", Charlotte confessed. I couldn't believe her.
She came towards me trying to hug me but I pushed her back. She looked at me, surprised by the fact I pushed her back but I couldn't even look at her. She shook her head at me and jumped off the cliff.
"Charlotte!", Clarke yelled. Bellamy and Clarke hung over the cliff, looking for any signs of her. I just stood there. I was in shock. I looked over at Murphy who gave me a "I'm really sorry please forgive me" look.
Bellamy turned around to look at Murphy. I couldn't look at Murphy's face anymore. He didn't only nearly killed me for something I didn't do, he practically killed Charlotte. If he hadn't react like that, Charlotte would've told him the truth. I just can't believe she blamed me. Bellamy kept hitting Murphy.
"Bellamy, stop! You'll kill him!", I yelled. This became too familiar.
"He deserves to die!", Bellamy yelled back.
"No! We don't decide who lives and dies. Not down here.", Clarke stated when she pulled Bellamy back.
"So help me God, if you say the people have a right to decide, I'll-", He started but Clarke cut him off.
"No, no! I was wrong before. You were right. Sometimes it's dangerous to tell people the truth. But if we're gonna survive down here we can't just live by whatever the hell we want. We need rules.", Clarke told him.
"And who makes those rules? Huh? You?", He asked Clarke, clearly not agreeing with her.
"For now, we make the rules, okay?", Clarke asked Bellamy.
"So what then? We just take him back and pretend like nothing of this ever happened?", Bellamy snapped.
"No.", Clarke said as she looked over at Murphy and then to me. "We banish him." I just stood there. I couldn't believe Charlotte was dead.
Finn ran over to me and pulled me into a tight hug.
"Why are you hugging me?", I asked and I started crying.
"It's going to be okay.", He told me as he sushed me. No, this wasn't going to be okay.
Bellamy grabbed Murphy and threatened that if he ever came back to camp he was dead meat. Then he grabbed me and walked with me back to camp. I was shaking from everything that just happened.
✯
"Hey, kid.", Bellamy said later that night. "Can we talk?" I nodded my head and he sat down next to me.
"Listen, I'm really sorry for not believing you. It must've been hard, not having anyone to believe you. I'm really sorry you had to go through this. This was never my intention, I hope you know that.", He said. I waited to reply for a while and looked him right in the eye.
"You don't have to be sorry. I don't know if I would've believed me if I were you.", I said and right in that moment the tears started to stream down again.
"Hey, kid, it's alright.", Bellamy said as he held me.
"No, it isn't alright. Why aren't you mad at me? If I had forgiven Charlotte right away, she might not have jumped off of that cliff. I was beyond mad but never wanted her to die.", I said raising my voice. You could barely understand what I was saying because I was crying so much. But apparently, Bellamy understood.
"Aaliyah. Hey, look at me.", He told me and I looked at him as he grabbed my face. "This isn't your fault, got it? What happened today wasn't your fault. We didn't know what was going to happen. Do you hear me? I know it's a lot to take in but no one blames you. Not me, not Clarke, not Finn or Octavia. Okay, no one. This wasn't your fault.", Bellamy said and with that he wrapped me into a tight hug.
Maybe Bellamy Blake wasn't so bad after all.
