《Prisoner 345 {the 100}》Chapter 4: Murphy's law ✯

This chapter is dedicated to funtofantasiz3 :)
The next morning Charlotte was really quiet. We were working on a wall Bellamy asked everyone to build and I had no idea what I was doing. I just did what Charlotte did.
"You okay?", I asked her kinda worried. We would spend all day talking and now she hadn't said a word.
"Fine, just tired.", She answered and I shrugged. I knew she was lying but I wasn't going to force her to tell me what was on her mind. If she's ready to tell me, she will.
A guy dropped a beam next to me, snapping me out of my thoughts.
"Hey!", I heard Murphy yell. God, he sure had good lungs. "You think the Grounders are just gonna wait for us to finish the wall?" He was so rude. I felt bad for the boy, but I didn't dare to say something to Murphy. "Maybe we should let the little girls do the lifting?" I rolled my eyes at the fact he used the word 'little'.
"I just need some water, okay? Then I'll be fine.", The boy said. I ran off to get him some water. When I got back I saw Murphy peeing on the boy. Oh my-
"What the hell is wrong with you Murphy? I'll kill you!", The boy yelled pushing Murphy but he was pushed back by a few other boys.
"You wanted a water break. Get back to work!", Murphy yelled.
When they let go of the boy I walked over to him giving him my bottle of water. He looked at me smiling.
"Thank you.", He said.
"You welcome. What's your name?", I asked him.
"Connor. You must be the little Aaliyah.", He said making me smirk.

"The Aaliyah part is right.", I said as I walked back over to Charlotte.
✯
We were like 2 hours further and Charlotte still hadn't said a word to me. I felt bad, I started to think she was maybe mad at me. What could I have possibly done?
Someone tried to fill his cup with water but Murphy grabbed the cup and threw it away.
"No water until this section is up.", He said. He had it really easy, commanding us like that and doing legit nothing. "What, what are you staring at, huh?"
"You son of a bitch.", Suddenly, Clarke came running through the crowd, pushing Murphy aside as he laughed.
"Woah, what's your problem?", He asked smiling.
"Recognise this?", Clarke asked him holding up a knife.
"That's my knife, where'd you find it?", Murphy asked Clarke trying to grab the knife but she pulled back.
"Where you dropped it after you killed Wells.", Oh my lord. Wells was dead? Why did no one ever tell me anything. Murphy killed him? I was right to be scared of him.
"Where I what?", You could tell Murphy was surprised by Clarke's words. "The Grounders killed Wells, not me." Everyone started to gather around Murphy and Clarke to see what was happening. So did Charlotte and I.
"I know what you did, and you're gonna pay for it.", Clarke said stepping closer to Murphy.
"Really? Bellamy, you believe this crap?", Murphy asked Bellamy, counting on his support. Bellamy didn't answer.
"You threatened to kill him. We all heard you. You hated Wells.", Clarke stated.
"Plenty of people hated Wells.", Murphy said which he was right about. "His father was the chancellor that locked us up."
"Yeah, but you're the only one who got into a knife fight with him.", Clarke said raising her voice above Murphy's.

"Yeah, I didn't kill him then, either.", Murphy said and I could tell he was scared for what was gonna follow, and so was I. Was he telling the truth?
"He tried to kill Jasper too.", Octavia added.
"Come on, this is ridiculous. I don't have to answer to anyone.", Murphy said trying to walk away.
"Come again?", Bellamy scoffed, crossing his arms. I grabbed Charlottes hand but she pulled away.
"Bellamy. Look, I'm telling you man, I didn't do this.", Murphy said walking over to Bellamy.
"They found his fingers on the ground with your knife.", Bellamy replied.
"Is this the kind of society we want? You say there should be no rules. Does that mean we can kill each other without punishment?", Clarke said not prepared for what was coming next.
"I already told you, I didn't kill anyone.", Murphy raised his voice walking over to Clarke.
"I say we float him.", Someone yelled earning some "yeah". No, this couldn't be happening. I thought this wasn't the Ark.
"That's not what I'm saying.", Clarke said
"Why not? He deserves to float. It's justice.", Connor said. No, no, no.
"Revenge isn't justice.", Clarke said.
"It's justice.", Connor said and everyone started yelling "Float him." They couldn't do this. What if Murphy actually didn't kill Wells?
Murphy tried to get away but they pushed him to the ground and everyone started kicking him and beating him up. This became all too familiar. He ended up with his neck on a rope, ready to get hung up.
"Bellamy, you should do it.", Connor said and everyone yelled Bellamys name as I stood next to Charlotte, worried.
Clarke ran over to Bellamy but I didn't hear what they were saying over the crowd yelling.
I saw Murphy shaking his head and I couldn't watch anymore. I held tight on to Charlotte's hand. She let go and told me 'I'm sorry.' I don't know why she said that but I didn't pay too much attention to it.
Right in that moment Bellamy kicked the box Murphy was standing on from under his feet and Murphy was gasping for air. He was choking and there was nothing I could do.
Out of nowhere, Finn came running up to me and Charlotte.
"What the hell are you doing? Cut him down! Aaliyah, Charlotte, get out of here, now!", Finn yelled.
Octavia grabbed me and I grabbed Charlotte's hand but she slapped my hand away.
"No, just stop, okay! Murphy didn't kill Wells.", Charlotte said. "Aaliyah did."

Gather items and become stronger. Crush your opponents as you take theirs for your own, and roll the weighted dice. Marco has watched for years how humans treat their lives like gambling chips. He saw delusion, confused with hope, and warnings falling on deaf ears. A million believing they are the one. Because don't you just need a few rare items to be unstoppable? Some EXP to dominate? Just a little luck? Surely, if you keep trying, fate will work out in your favor, no? Marco knows better than that. He's learned that patience is a virtue. He hopes others will listen; that they would learn. In time, things could be better. He plans to see to that himself. But when he meets Jeanne, their values clash. They both desire the same, yet their means differ. One would risk it all on a hunch, the other waits until the perfect moment. Does either understand the consequences of their methods? A grimdark LitRPG story that's not just LitRPG, and not just grimdark. Updates about twice a week. Please feel free to leave some feedback. I'll appreciate it very much!
8 316Ode to Fallen Angels
Jericho, the land of humanity, squirms in pain. Magic has been forbidden for so long in this so called "Age of Silence", that all Arcane knowledge has been presumed lost and irrecoverable, and the echoes of God's Will grow fainter with every passing year. The sight of Demihuman caravans is less frequent every day, as the likes of orcs and elves have learned to no longer beg for help from those who despise them. Clearly, they can expect more from the voracious wild lands than from humankind. Many have succumbed to despair, some driven mad by their fruitless efforts to bring back a Golden Age that they only ever read about in books. And in the middle of it all, in an old chapel lost in the Eastern lands, young Gabrielle lives in complete ignorance. She is another orphan living under the mercy of the Church of the Saints; one bearing the mark of evil in her red hair, the telltale sign of a Witch. In an Age of the Silent, the Prejudiced, and the Hateful, she clings to a single hope: that one day, be it in life or maybe after it all ends, she may find herself forgiven of her sin. The sin of being born.
