Logan POV
If one more person asks if I'm okay I'm going to explode!
I know I look like crap thanks for noticing!
What happened to you? I died! Leave me the frack alone!
I used to be so put together.
I'm the Delta of the pack. I run a successful factory to help fund pack operations and I help with training. I do it all. I'm your man, but recently... recently I've started to crave things.
It's stupid honestly. Like I want someone to cuddle with me. I know that isn't crazy. It isn't too far out there. Every wolf is looking for their mate. I've always dreamed of her. Some little thing I could wrap up in my arms. Someone I could hold close to me... but there's the problem.
You see when a wolf is close to finding their mate the instincts that drive your dynamic start to show. Some people know early like Brenton and Landon who always knew they were daddies. Others like me don't. I know I will meet my mate soon and I should be happy but the instincts surfacing?... they suck.
The cuddling thing isn't bad but recently... recently I've found myself longing to have someone scratch behind my ears... like seriously!? What is that? Oh and I've been chewing on things in my sleep.
It doesn't take a genius to know I am not the dominant, my mate is. Me? Of course I'd be a pet!
I hate it!
Eddy has already taken the place of submissive in leadership. People complain about it but Brenton would never abandon him... it's not surprising that Eddy would be a little. He lost his parents at age 8. My uncle, the former Alpha, took him in. That's why he and Brenton are so close, but still the loss hurt and now he gets a mommy to love little him and a dang hot mate in Kelly.

I don't know how he deals with it. Most of the pack is cool but some of the warriors... let's just say the Bauer brothers aren't the only jerks.
If I am proven to be a submissive too it won't be good for the pack. People will start to think we are weak. It doesn't matter if it is true or not! Someone will end up attacking us!
Brenton is too good of a guy to boot me from being Delta but if I accept my mate my submissive urges will only get worse. True indulging in the urges would balance me out but that is like accepting defeat!
I know what I have to do.
I will do it. Not because I want to. To protect the pack... If I'm being honest with myself I'd love to be a puppy. Have my mate tell me what a good boy I am. Belly rubs! No!
I pull my tongue back in my mouth.
I can't do this! I will have to reject her. It's the only option. I don't want to but if I do it should help me not feel like this.
"Logan." I hear as someone knocks on the door.
"What?" I growl swinging it open.
"Bren wants us... apparently a group of wolves are requesting acceptance into the pack. He wants the leaders present for the interviews." Landon tells me and I sigh. Keep it together Logan.
"You alright man?" He asks moving my hair from my eyes. I really need that cut. Stupid big brother noticing things. I growl at him.
"I'm fine, Landy. Let's go."
I can smell it before I even enter the office. I knew my mate would show up soon. I should have guessed she'd be in the group.

"Come on in guys. This is Alpha Maddox and what's left of his pack. This is my Gamma Landon and Delta Logan." Brenton introduces us.
Beautiful. There isn't a better word. Am I drooling? Black unruly hair, well defined muscles EVERYWHERE, taller than me that's a surprise, crystal blue eyes, and a smirk that says I was caught staring.
I look away with a growl.
Why did my mate have to be the definition of perfection?
"Logan you okay?" Brenton asks hearing the growl.
"Fine, just got something in my throat." I answer.
"Well go get a drink." He responds not buying it but I'll take the opportunity to leave. I head towards the kitchen so it looks like I really needed the drink.
Before I get there a hand wraps around my arm and pulls me into a room.
"Running away?" The voice makes me shiver as I look slightly up. It's only about an inch hight difference but it feels like more.
"No... why aren't you in the office?" I ask.
"Bathroom break." That smirk could kill.
"Alpha Maddox you should not have left the meeting." I tell him and he growls.
"Not an Alpha any more pup. We just joined your pack." He says and I sigh. I need to do this before I lose my nerve.
"I Delta Logan Adler reject..."
"Sit." The command shuts me up as I drop to the floor in front of this massive man. "We haven't established rules, puppy, but it's safe to say rejecting me is a big no no... don't get me wrong I won't force you to be my mate but you don't get to reject me before you get to know me."
"You can't do this! You can't make me not reject you!" I growl standing back up as I regain my senses.
"If you didn't want to submit to me you wouldn't have listened to my command. I didn't make you do anything. It is always your choice to submit." He says making me even more mad.
"I Delta Logan Adler..."
"Hush." He says and I stop again. "I thought we covered this. No rejecting me, puppy."
Maddox runs a hand through my hair scratching my scalp making me relax and whine happily, closing my eyes.
"Good boy."
That praise snaps me out of what ever trance I was in.
"I can't do this!" I run out of the room and back to my own.
"Why!?" I groan falling face first into my bed. This can't be happening!

Primacy Online
Life on Earth was nearly eradicated in World War III, but using alien technology, the Patriarch of the Church of the Resurrection built a new society from the ashes. He created what he called the Constructed Reality MMORPG, Primacy Online, a world so real that the players could not distinguish it from reality. After outlawing wars between the city-states on Earth, he declared that all wars would be fought inside the world of Primacy Online. Thirteen hundred years later, the release of Primacy Online VI: Legacy of Balor signals the beginning of World War IX. Players from Earth's city-states will be locked in cryogenic capsules and play Primacy Online in War Mode. Their achievements in the game will determine the victory rankings of their city-states, but if they die in the game, they will die for real. Patrick Armagh found flaws in the game mechanics of Primacy Online and exploited them to rise to the peak of the game. But when the Church declared he was cheating, he was perma-banned from the game. Now, the Church has declared that Patrick and all the other perma-banned cheaters will be included in a special Church group for World War IX, where they can earn redemption for their sin of cheating. However, Morgan Danan, Speaker of the City of Mann, and the generally acknowledged number one player of Primacy Online, has a deal for Patrick. With her help and his method of cheating, he has the chance to become a virtual god within Primacy Online, but by taking up her offer, he will become an enemy of the Church. Like a significant percentage of Primacy Online players, Patrick suffers from an ultimately fatal, degenerative nervous system disorder. He has less than five years to live. With death staring him in the face and nothing to live for, he accepts Morgan Danan's offer, and once again, enters Primacy Online as Crom Cruach, a disgraced legend.
