Kenzie POV

My head hurts... I think it's a stay in bed kind of day.

"Baby." Brenton says in a sing song voice.

"Mornin'" I mumble.

"Landon wanted to know if you want to have a little day with Gilly. She has been bored at his work and I think you could use a full day off from all Luna duties." He says.

I still don't feel great but how can I pass that up?

"Can Eddy come too?" I ask and he shakes his head.

"That would mean leaving Logan in charge... I don't know what's up with him lately but I wouldn't feel comfortable with that." He says.

"So you forgave Eddy then?" I ask and he sighs.

"I'm not sure about his decision making but he's still like my brother... I guess this is giving him a chance to prove himself. I'm confident he will do well... but he will likely need to slip as soon as we get back due to stress, so be ready for that." He says and I smile. "Come on where's my baby girl? All I've been hearing from is Luna Makenzie." I giggle at that. I go to get up and get a little dizzy but ignore it.

"When do we go?" I ask.

"As soon as you're dressed and ready."

Brenton helps me get ready doing everything for me so I will slip more quickly.

"All done! Lits go see Gilly!" I cheer and he chuckles.

"They might not be ready ye..."

"Daddyyyyyy! I thought we was going with Kenzie!" A whine cuts him off and I take off running to the stairs.

"Slow down!" Daddy yells and I stop. "You do not run on the stairs, little miss."

"Sorry Daddy." I mumble.

"Hand." He holds out his hand and I take it as we walk slooooowly down the stairs before he let's go.

"Gilly!" I yell and we fall into a big hug.

"Come on girls we have places to go." Landon says and we squeal running to the door.

Both of us were put into car seats which I argued about but of course Daddy won.

"Where we goin'" Gilly asks and I shrug.

"Daddyyyyyy!" We both yell looking forward.

"Yeeeeessss?" They both respond in the same voice we had used.

"Where we going?" I ask.

"I'm not sure... where are we going, Landy?" Daddy asks.

"No idea... where are we going? Hummmm..." he responds and we both whine causing them to chuckle.

"It's a surprise, baby girl." Daddy finally answers.

"Zoo!" Gilly yells an hour later being the first of us to see the sign.

"I wanna see the lions! Rawr!!!" Gilly yells.

"Do they have Dinos?" I ask.

"You know they a stink, right?" Gilly whispers.

"Duh! But I heard 'bout some zoos having special robo dinos that look soooo real!" I respond.

"What's with you and Dinosaurs recently?" Landon asks.

"Landon you don't..." Daddy starts but I cut him off.

"Cause Landon! Dinos are awesome! Bats are like modern day dinos so I'm half Dinosaur! I'm like a little baby pterodactyl!... plus Dinosaur train is the best show ever. Dinosaur train!" I sing the last bit like the theme song. Maybe I'm a Pteranodon. Then I can be like Shiny, Tiny, and Don!

"She found that show a couple weeks ago and it has firmly replaced Cars in her mind. Eddy was mad when she stopped wanting to watch his favorite movie on repeat." Daddy adds.

"I wanna see dinos." I say.

We went everywhere in the zoo but my head kept going all spinny. We saw the zebras and the lions and the monkeys... by the penguins Gilly and I found an "ice" cave and climbed inside.

"You okay, Kenzie? You look kinda sickey." Gilly asks.

"I'm fine... but you don't look so good either." I say ignoring the fact that my belly has been hurting ever since we ate.

"I'm hungry... like vampire hungry... I don't want to tell daddy cause he will want to take me home to feed me. Can't let the humans see." She pouts and I look around the cave. We are alone and no one can see us.

"Drink from me. No one will see and then we won't have to leave." I offer.

"You sure?" She asks and I nod offering my wrist.

Having a vampire drink from you feels weird... it's not painful bet it definitely made my tummy more upset.

"Your blood tastes funny." Gilly says once she's done. "But I'm not hungry any more so let's go before our daddies start looking for us."

We climb out of the cave and go to Daddy and Landon.

"There you are." Landon says as soon as he sees us.

"You were right baby girl." Daddy says hugging me. "I bought the special tickets so we can see the dinosaurs."

I'm so excited as we stand in line that I'm literally bouncing but the bouncing makes my tummy turn causing me to stop.

"You okay?" Daddy asks seeing my sudden change in mood. I need to pep up or they'll take us home!

"Yea I'm good! How much longer?" I smile big and he smiles back.

"The show starts in ten minutes." He answers.

"Daddy." Gilly whines. Oh no. "I don't feel so..." she is cut off by puking red all over Landon's shirt. With that my tummy can't hold on any more and my lunch leaves me. Okay now I feel really bad.

"Daddy." I whine.

"Let's take them home." Daddy says and I whine.

"But Dinos!" I argue.

"Another time princess." He says and we leave.

"I thought vampires don't get sick." Daddy says on our drive home. Gilly fell asleep and I'm just groaning from all the yucky feelings. I should have stayed in bed.

"They usually don't." Landon responds looking back at us. "Only if they are poisoned by certain plants or... Tainted blood." He sniffs his shirt where Gilly puked. Gross! "Brenton take a whiff."

"I think we are a little old for smell this it stinks." Daddy responds.

"I'm serious."

When we stop at a stoplight Daddy leans over and smells... that's still gross.

"Kenzie did Gilly drink from you?" Daddy asks and I close my eyes. I been asleep all along. I fake a little snore. "Answer me, little one."

"She said she was hungry." I answer.

"New rule. Don't let vampires drink from you... I didn't think that one was necessary." He sighs.

"Gilly knows better. One of her rules is that she only drink from me or animals." Landon says with a growl.

"I didn't mean to get Gilly in trouble." I say.

"You didn't know, little one." Landon says. "But she did... she's lucky she's sick."

"I think this will teach her not to drink from anyone else." Daddy says and Landon sighs.

"You're probably right... I really hate that she's sick though... I don't like seeing her like that... my poor baby." Landon says.

"Daddy how long till we home?" I whine.

"Still another 40 minutes. Try to take a nap baby. I'll make surw you feel all better soon." I nod at that and close my eyes...

I really wanted to see the dinos.

Inspired by my nephew who told us at age 6 that he wants to be a paleontologist... he also loves dinosaur train and pronounced extinct "a stink"... night night peoples, dinos, and fairy beings.
